Discount Tire stores can be hit or miss on the customer service side. You might get a friendly, knowledgeable associate who's genuinely happy to help or someone who is the complete opposite. Unfortunately, this location has been inconsistent. On one visit, the technicians installed the wrong size tire on my car. I only realized something was wrong when my vehicle's sensors alerted me. When I returned to have it addressed, the associate I spoke with was dismissive and unhelpful. On another occasion, however, the service was much better. The associate was friendly, professional, and pleasant to work with. Overall, the customer service feels like a Jekyll and Hyde experience. You never quite know what you're going to get. That said, I do appreciate the quality of the tires and the services (tire rotation, etc.) that come with them. read more

I went in to have a slow tire leak fixed. Rather than just address my issue, the tech had to do readings on all my tires and start recommending replacing my spare. We finally went inside where he was "checking me in" and after five to ten minutes, he told me he didn't have my exact tire as a replacement but he'd recommend one. (Mind you, it hadn't even determined that the leaking tire couldn't be repaired.) I declined saying I wasn't buying a new tire today but would like it fixed. After 45 minutes, my car was brought up and I was told they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They hadn't even taken it off of the car to check for leaks in hidden areas. He said it was "unsafe." At least they didn't charge me but they also didn't try to fix it either. They just wasted 45 minutes of my time. I went to a nearby family owned shop who jumped on it immediately. Within minutes they found the small nail in the tire and had me back on the road for $20. Avoid Discount Tire for repairs! read more

Like most people that were coming in I had a nail in my tire, the associate that helped me (Ryan) helped explain to me the situations in which they can or cannot repair the tire. Unfortunately in my case my tire could not be repaired, but Ryan helped me go over pricing and helped choose the best replacement tire for my vehicle. They are always honest! If a tire is repairable, they will tell you the truth rather than trying to sell you a new tire. I have been going to them for over a decade. Any time I have gone in with a damaged tire that is under warranty, they have replaced it and only charged the small fee to warranty the new tire. Today, I needed new tires. The salesman showed us the computer screen with all of the different price points and expected tire life. He did not pressure us in any direction. He just explained the differences. This was the worst display of customer service I have ever experienced from Discount Tire. The car was dropped off for 4 new tires at 1342. It was mentioned car would 1st be ready at 1445 then 1530. I have to take inventory of our lug nut covers and air stem covers because the techs rotating tires will take off air stem covers and lug nut covers and will keep them. It cost us money to replace them from the car dealer. I had enough of that today. The tech or manager did it agin. We were missing 1 (ONE) lug nut cover and one air pressure stem covers on front passenger side. We took inventory before car was taken in. When picked up they only replaced the air pressure stem cover on the front passenger side. They now took a second lug nut cover off on the drivers side so now TWO( 2) lug nut covers are missing.The techs rotating tires said the assistant manager said we drove in with TWO (2) missing lug nut covers. LIE. A second manager told the tech we drove in with 4 (FOUR) missing lug nuts. These managers are nothing but liars. These managers can't keep their lies straight. Miraculously they found TWO (2) covers but alas they do not belong to our SUV. They are old and too small they belong to a small vehicle. I also noticed that they broke a second lug nut cover on the front passenger side which will need to be replaced as well. I need the correct lug nuts for our vehicle. A tech or manager has the second one they stole off our tire. Next call is customer service. They need to give me the proper lug nut covers stolen. I urge everyone to take pictures or videos and walk around your vehicle with person signing you in so they are aware you have pictures and videos and will put your property back on and not steal it or trade it with inferior and wrong covers so they can keep yours. I firmly believe that discount tire product and warranty is terrible. I am a firm believer the Selma location customer service is terrible. I had previously purchased a warranty and the tire from discount tire in 2021. I purchased a warranty and discount tire is supposed to replace the tire due to the fact I bought a warranty. I was told the tire warranty was good for 80,000 miles or 6 years which ever came first. On Tuesday the 24th of September 2024. I went to Discount Tire in Selma for my scheduled appointment. Thomas advised that I had 50,000 miles and my front tires were no good. I then stated I have a warranty on these tires. I was told my warranty was null and void and I would have to purchase new tires at full price. I asked if there wasn't something they would do for me, a repeat customer who has purchased 6 tires with warranties from Discount Tire. I was told there was nothing they would do for me. I feel as though Discount Tire does not value my money. Discount Tire does not value their customers nor do they honor their warranty. Discount Tire employee, smirked and made faces when I asked for help. A true wise guy. No one likes a wise guy. Went to see if they could patch my tire they could. They accidentally broke one of my sensors in the tire, found out from my dealership came back a month later, and they still fixed it for free. They also squeezed me in. I only had to wait about an hour when the standard wait time because it was busy was about five. This place goes above and beyond, the customer service is excellent. I am so pleased with Discount Tire and this location! I've gone here for at least 3 years now and can't believe that I haven't left a review before. The employees are professional and courteous. The place is always clean and though it's busy, it's still run smoothly. I appreciate the free tire pressure check and air refill too. I don't have to get out of my car and they don't try to upsell you. They just honestly and quickly check your tire pressure! In order to get the best service though, you have to buy the certificates for each tire. It may seem like a lot of money at first but it has saved me so much money in the long run. Today I went in because I kept getting the low tire pressure light on my dashboard and kept having to fill the air. I went to them two weeks earlier for a free air test and refill (different location). I was told which tire to keep an eye on and my tires inflated correctly for free. Great service. So when the light came on again on Saturday, I was able to go to this location and tell them exactly what tire to look at. It turns out that yes there was a nail in it but I didn't need to pay for it to be patched. If the tire couldn't have been fixed, I would've still gotten a free tire because of the tire certificate! They have stepped up their customer service! I took my car in for a new tire (hit q pothole and had a huge gash on my tire.) I arrived 5 min after they opened and they already had a line of customers waiting. While I was in line to be helped every associate acknowledged us and letting us know we would be helped shortly. Once we were attended at counter the associate took time to review the issue and check all other tires as well. It took about 20 min to get my tire changed out and me be one my way. Brought my car there this morning in and out in less than thirty minutes awesome staff very friendly knowledgeable. Felt comfortable the drive home the light came on called the location they insured me this was normal so I was like ok that's fine. The only concern was my rims looked very scratched at first but the guy wiped the white stuff oof it was just some greasy stuff they use to get the tires on. Discount tires has their act together. Went in this morning for a set of tires. Nate helped me out. Extremely quick service. While he was writing up the ticket another employee was already taking off the tires. Based on my driving history, he gave me options. I selected the tires I wanted. While the receipt was being printed, Nate told me the car would be ready in 15 minutes!! That was for a set of 4 tires and resetting the TOMS system! I have 3 vehicles, all with discount tires. I called my husband and he came and put the spare tire on and I headed to discount tire were we waited for over 30 minute to be seen by on of the guys , we were told that i should leave the tire witch we did and it should be 3 hrs and we will text you when its ready we got a texts about 3.5 hours late so I headed back to discount tire and was told that then didn't know they were to put the tire back on my car . which makes no sense how was I going to do it and why should I what kind of customer services is that, so asked what it would take to have them do it, another 3 hour wait.......... I recommend these people very highly. I was on a 600 mile journey and kept losing air pressure in one of my tires. I had stopped at two other Discount Tires on my route and no one could find the problem. They just kept adding air to the tire and I could go for about another hundred miles and had to stop and do it all over again. These guys found the problem- showed me there was a nail in the tire but they did not have the exact same size tire that I had on my vehicle so I had to go up one size and I bought two tires from them. Jason Mervine is not only a poor listener but also lacking in his customer service skills. The key to my Lexus was obviously broken during my visit at the location he manages and he only offered to super glue it back together. I'm amazed at how that was handled considering my family has bought numerous sets of tires from this company and have very strong brand loyalty. I took advantage of the Black Friday savings that discount tire was offering by ordering an entire set of tires on line. When the tires arrived I made an appointment to go in and have them installed. I made an appointment and was told that it would take about 45 minutes for the installation so I went during my lunch break which is an hour long. Sure enough it took an hour and a half. Keeping me away from work was bad enough but when I got back to my vehicle I found my key was broken apart. When I brought this to the managers attention he blamed me. All he offered to do was superglue my key back together. This is the original key for my Lexus and I've never had a single issue with it so the last thing I want is for it to be super glued together. He finally asked that I get a quote from a local key shop and that he would take care of it but upon emailing him multiple times and forwarding him numerous quotes I have gotten no response. I went to get my tire pressure checked today because the light had been off and on lately with the temps being so up and down and Logan was awesome! We talked while he checked my tires and he noticed my windshield wipers needed replacing (which I knew about like 4 months ago but completely forgot about) and he called over to the desk and got that set up and when I went in Joey already knew what I needed and put them on for me. The salesperson by the name of Chase is not a man of his word. During my visit, it was understood that I purchased lifetime balance and rotation along with the services needed for my vehicle. He assured me that I had lifetime balance after payment. That was not the case when I had to bring my vehicle back to be re-balanced the very next day. Chase was not present during my second visit to confirm what was offered and assured to me. Salesperson Herb was able to take care of the re-balance at no cost but could not honor the lifetime balance purchase. To make matters worse, one of the center caps on my new wheels was purposely scratched. I dropped by this place at the end of my wits yesterday, it had been a long day , a lot of stuff had gone wrong, and then I got a flat tire, to top it all off. So here I am thinking I'll have to shell out $200 for a new one when I'm already low on cash but as soon as I spoke to someone I was assured they'd do everything they could and if they could patch it, it would be of no cost! I came in with my spare on and flat in the hatchback. After a consult I bought 4 new tires. I'm as broke as everybody, so I emptied my bank account thinking at least the car would run so I could work. They promised an hour I had to leave after two, so I could keep my job to pay for the four new tires. They threw the car together even the sensors didn't work. Fast forward, in a thunderstorm a tire blows, no spare, no jack, they didn't put them back in the car, they didn't call me either to let me know they still had my spare. Looking for there number to call I can trace doing business with them over 4 cars and 15 years. I called, turns out they don't give a crap. You stranded at the side of the road Whatever, they didn't replace your jack and spare whatever. So I have to buy a new spare to get the car off the side of the road and get it somewhere to buy a tire. I thought the guy at the store was NOT HELPFUL, so I went to the website, they could get back to me in 2 business days, it's Friday so I guess they can get to me next Tuesday, I have the same thing as everybody, kids, sick parents, I can't be 4 days without a car.
