We came during what I would describe as a busy halloween weekend festive event! The streets were full of people dressed up and so were the bars. Vine and pint was the same, packed but bar top was open so we grabbed a seat and ordered my wife and I some sliders as an afternoon snack! Chatted with the bar tender and learned more about the festivities going on since it was a Friday before halloween so I was curious if Gilroy was always so lively or it was just that weekend. Bartender was great and even offered me a few samples of the local brews just to try. Honestly didn't recall which things but I do recall one was a sour and ipa for the first time. But I think I enjoyed the one that tasted like a sangria. I joked about hearing that Gilroy was garlic capital so asked if there was a garlic beer since I saw somewhere there was garlic ice cream, but unfortunately there wasn't a garlic beer on tap so no luck there. Soon afterwards our sliders came and we got to enjoy our afternoon snack before heading out to locate me a sample of garlic ice cream in the garlic capital! Sliders were good and medium well! If only Gilroy was the final stop on the road trip I think I would've enjoyed a bar hoping experience since it seemed like there were plenty of bars to choose from! read more

I attended a volunteer dinner at Vines and Pints. The restaurant was closed for the private event. This place is located in downtown Gilroy and I went on a Wednesday night and there was parking available, about a block away, on the street. I can see this street being busy and parking hard to get on a weekend. The restaurant has plenty of tables but no outside seating. There is a large bar with a great selection of wine, spirits and beer. The team serving us was welcoming and attentive. They knew their wines and were happy to make great recommendations. Our party did not get to order from the food menu because it was a preset menu for dinner. There was a buffet with a protein, vegetables, salad and dessert. I took one star off because of how greasy the food was. Other than that hiccup, I would come back here on my own. The service was outstanding - attentive but no pressure. An upscale place in downtown Gilroy. I highly recommend. read more

Tried this place for the first time last night. I enjoyed the ambiance, it's cute and right down town. Large selection of wine and beer. One thing to note is that their menu online does not match what they offer in person and that soured our visit. Much of what we went into order was not available. The menu was small and mostly heavy bar bites. That said once I was over the initial disappointment what we tried was good. Jenn the owner came and helped us and she was very sweet and personable. I just hope they update their website to reflect their true menu. read more

What a fun place to unwind after a long week. We met up with family and ran into family here. Meant to be!! It was our first visit to Vines and Pints and we were impressed. The vibe felt like we were in a major city. The DJ's choice of music really made the whole experience even better. Shout out to the interior decorator. I cannot say enough great things about Vines and Pints. Not only are they such a gift to Gilroy but they completely elevate the town. They serve local wines that are only available in their establishment (which keeps us coming back for more!) I have been here more than a handful of times and the service no matter what day I come, no matter how busy, everyone working is so attentive and when given the chance really get to know you! Which honestly makes the experience even more special. The ambience is everything! They cater to everyone including families! The food here really deserves its own review. Their food came out piping hot. You can tell the dishes were made to order and had fresh ingredients. Reasonably priced. The server (who was also the bartender) was super friendly and customer service geared, offering us tasters of multiple items on their beer menu. I just wish we had a dipping sauce for the excellent mozzarella balls, however the creamy pesto sauce from the risotto balls came in clutch for that! read more

Great ambiance and very knowledgeable about their wine. We had wonderful service by their head chef. We tried their lumpia and their little cluckers. The lumpia's were great. The little cluckers are a hard pass. I hate to say they weren't even edible (too much breading - 90% breading and almost so no chicken). We'll come back to try more on the menu and hopefully change our rated experience on the food. read more

What a fantastic surprise / discovery! I needed a short stop to log in and work - and it was lunchtime... I ended up here on a freeway detour. I just had the BEST sandwich, beer, and great service. LOVE this place and wish we had one at home (San Diego). My wife and I spent our Friday date night out in one of the best restaurants here in downtown Gilroy called vines and pints. It had a great atmosphere. The staff was very pleasant and friendly and engaging. The food was excellent. Very creative work by the chef it's small portions, and that really makes it fun for sharing. What an amazing time George the owner guided us through multiple wine varietals of Pinot and Granache plus the marinated olives and flatbread pizza with jalapeño and sausage was so good. Just wow! Had the best top 3 chicken wings I've ever tasted. Crispy, juicy, perfect amount of sauce. Delicious. Then....THEN?!?!? The smoked brisket grilled cheese. Whomever is back there I. The kitchen is a top tier CHEF! The brisket was tender. The cheese perfectly melted. Atmosphere was wonky as hell, but definitely a vibe. 12/10 will be back again and again and again. The kitchen recently opened! We popped in before a stop Ashford's and Home Goods. We ended up staying for a drink and a full meal. Staff recommended the burger and they were spot on. The truffle burger was delicious! Comes with steak fries and smothered with mushrooms. That's a must try. Ordered a Greek salad, which was equally delicious. All the food was shareable. Tried their new Espresso martini, be careful it's strong and very yummy. It would make a great brunch spot for a bachelorette party or a Sunday funday! A great place to drink & socialize! Not such a great place to eat. But, this place is so charming and such a fabulous addition to downtown. People are nice, ambiance is comfortable and well appointed, wine selection is great. However, they have a lot of work to do on their kitchen side of things. Food quality/sourcing is eh, execution is more eh; their kitchen needs an overhaul and some direction. If I were reviewing as a restaurant alone, I would probably leave 2 or 3 stars. Having said that, if I were reviewing this place as a wine bar, it would get 5 stars all the way! Highly recommend for a night out with maybe an appetizer...but eat your main meal before or after. read more

My husband and I have been to Vines and Pints a few times and it's been a nice place to chill. After a day of wine tasting we decided to stop by with our friends. At first the vibe was great. The place became crowded towards the end of the night. My husband went to the bathroom and an older man was upset that my husband pushed him while walking by. The walkway towards the bathroom was crowded and my husband did not push him. This guy is out way past his bedtime and clearly doesn't know how to handle a crowd. This immature older man and his friends seemed like regulars at this place. We were asked to leave by management instead of the people who started the argument. I was so embarrassed to recommend this place to my friends. Our nice day out was definitely ruined. I will never recommend this place again. read more

I've been to Vines and Pints many times. Everyone is friendly and the beer/wine is great. The owners really love what they do, knowledgeable and happy to tell you more about the selection. Today Was TERRIBLE Saturday, February first 2025 I went to this place probably drove an hour and 15 minutes that's how far I live away from Gilroy. And I was a terrible service. I went there because a few months ago I had gone with my son and daughter to celebrate my birthday and the hostess was nice. Also, the ambient was really nice too. Today's ambient was not so great and when I sat down, she probably didn't attend me until I wanna say 6 to 7 minutes later. she was talking to one of her customer gals. That's the first thing I noticed she was nice to me for about four minutes. she pour my wine then she left never came back and checked on me. never gave me a menu and I was hungryThere was a guy he didn't even acknowledge me!! everyone else but me I felt like I was invisible. It was a terrible feeling. I didn't need to feel like this driving an hour and 15 minutes just to be ignored. I felt like this was personal. I don't know what I did to them. I will never go back. seems like they treat people good only if they know them but outsiders were not treat at the end. I told her at the end that I didn't know she had a menu. They never gave me that either. She says I didn't give you right!! that's kind of ridiculous. so that goes to show that she did acknowledge what she was doing so I hope no one experiences this horrible treatment. If you're an outsider you might not get treated so good seems that they only treat locals better. I do not recommend this place no more. Like I I never go there no more. read more
