She has a family pass and she and her children use many of the facilities and programs of this new and well-used community asset. She was allowed to sign in and show me around as a guest. I was impressed by the wide range of activities, classes, and senior services going on during my visit. Lots of parking and the building is easy to navigate and barrier-free for the mobility impaired. As soon as I get settled in I plan on becoming a member.

With that in mind, I though that this place would be more receptive to recreational gymnasts. But when I told the person at the front desk that I signed her up that way, she seemed off-put by the idea and talked to me and treated us in a way that may have well of been a hate crime. I allowed for that, assuming that maybe that woman had an off night. Then I went in and the instructor was inconsiderate of my 6-year-old daughter amongst the youngsters, impatient that she wasn't up to speed with some of the more advanced kids. My daughter ultimately stopped herself in her tracks 20 minutes into her four-week course in tears and we took her out of the class and didn't bring her back any other times. This organization should be punished for the way they treat kids trying to learn. I wish I could punish them in the wallet so they could suffer because I know this review won't do enough. At the very least, I wish I could have my money back for the class that I spent on for nothing. This place has a INFINITE NEGATIVE score for their awful service and shouldn't be in business now or ever. Shame on them all. To work with kids, they should have more patience and consideration. They suck. Now and for all eternity. Yours truly Giovanni

For the party we had 2 dedicated instructors that led the kids through various activities - trampoline, rock wall climbing, balance beam, floor games, obstacle and course and at the end a huge blow up that the kids go through a few times. All the kids were interested in the activities and had a blast doing them. The people from the venue to help were very nice and super accommodating. The venue room is great for smaller sized parties as the space is limited, it does get warm in the summer so be prepared. Overall I was very happy and impressed with our experience.

It's perfect for families with young kids, with gentle rides, plenty of shade, and lots of places to explore without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. If you're looking for a calm, family‑themed park where kids can have fun and adults can actually relax, this is the spot. A really lovely place to spend the day. We are season pass holders and the money is used to preserve the park. They offer themed events during the entire year.

For years, based on the promotional photos I saw, I avoided the Gilroy Gardens (GG) family theme…read morepark. I thought it would be tacky and hyper-commercialized. Curiosity, together with my wife's desire to see the place, finally got the better of me--and I discovered that I had been wrong. GG in my opinion manages to strike the best balance that any such theme park probably can in terms of appealing to the masses while at the same time avoiding the trap of being tacky or hyper-commercialized. The varied rides and exhibits are pleasant and well-maintained. Some are even quite artistic (like the totem poles, illustrated in the image attached here) and educational (like the ecologically oriented Green Barn). If you're already familiar with GG, you don't need me to tell you about it. If you're not, here are a few tips--which might not be obvious to the uninitiated--that might help you better enjoy it: * The lines for the rides can be very long at times. You might end up waiting for an hour before it's your turn. Best to be prepared for that and plan it into your itinerary. * We noticed a small number of people who avoided the lines for all rides, being let in through the back gate/exit. When we asked about this at the Welcome Center, we learned that GG sells yellow wristbands that allow people to skip the long lines and enter through the "back door" (exit). They cost something like $85 per person for the year or about $30 per visit, in addition to the membership fee. * Even with those wristbands, you'll need more than one visit to see and do everything here. Rushing around a lot will spoil the fun. * The food everywhere, as far as we could tell, is pretty bad. You'll be ahead of the game if you pack your own, which will also avoid your waiting in another line. * The big secret, so to speak, of GG is "hidden" in plain sight--in the second word of the name itself, "Gardens." Most visitors are so preoccupied with going on the rides that they miss out on the natural beauty of the gardens. We found Camellia Garden and Claudia's Garden, in particular, to be like sheltered oases of calm and natural beauty within the hustle and bustle of the park. In our opinion, the three most obvious ways in which GG could be improved are as follows: 1. Improve the quality of the food that's offered. With all the traffic the park gets, those concession stands must be worth a small fortune. Either get them to do better or replace them with businesses that will. 2. Design a more user-friendly map. Those who already know their way around don't need a map but for those who don't, the existing map is not sufficiently clear (hint: it probably needs to be larger). 3. Do a better job of training the staff, in terms of both knowledgeability and attitude. Some are quite good (a special shout out to Nina at the Welcome Center and Sean at the Garlic Twirl ride: they exuded both warmth and professionalism) but others, who shall remain nameless, need more training. Minus one star for those deficiencies, as well as for not making it sufficiently clear at the time of the 2026 premium membership purchase that the bring-a-friend tickets that came with the membership had to be picked up almost immediately or they would not be available.

Now if you are like me and try running your eyes over every visible rock surface in the hopes of finding petroglyphs ... you may be here longer. (I did not see any :/). I'd actually like to take a guided tour if there is one... I saw they do them for kids but I'd be interested especially when it couldn't possible take more than an hour or so. I've lived here for nearly four years and not a mention of this this place to me ... I just happened to drive by it one day and looked up the info. The park is apparently over four acres... very little of which you are free to explore. However you can see visible artifacts along the short walk that are thousands of years old ... such as bedrock mortars etc. It's definitely worth a stop or two for a mostly shaded short walk through a bit of interesting history.

Unfortunately, we didn't really get to enjoy the park because as soon as we arrived, the ranger gave us a hard time for not making reservations and pushed for us to leave. Supposedly, we must get a permit to visit this county park outside of the docent-led tours. She eventually allowed us to look around as long as we stayed away from the main exhibit and out of sight of all official tour groups. We walked part of the trail and looked at the informational boards for 10 minutes. It was a pleasant walk around, but we didn't get to see the main attraction at the front and center of the park because we were told to stay away. We were so uncomfortable by the situation that we ended up leaving immediately. It was an almost 2-hr round trip drive for this park, so we were extra disheartened by the treatment. After sharing this experience with other teachers, they also said that they were strongly discouraged from visiting without a tour reservation when they tried booking. The park does live virtual tours with a ranger, though, which the kids enjoyed.
