    Wonton Soup
    Justina G.

Ordered carry out 6/23/2020 First time trying this place. Order Vegetable lo mein noodles With egg roll and fried rice And pint of woton soup I was told 35 mins I showed up 37 mins After I called. My order took 55 mins. I understand it's covid and busy. So I asked did you put plum sauce in the bag for my egg roll he said yes. I get home no plum sauce. Yay sat in lobby for 25 mins and no plum sauce. Okay so I open the soup pour it in a bowl sit down to eat it. I take a sip of the broth and it's very bland almost taste like water. I go to eat a woton and I see BUG! So didn't eat that throw it down the sink. The egg roll was okay tasted more like cabbage so ugh not good. The vegetable lo mein was good but mostly tasted like butter noodles honestly. Fried rice it came with you could tell it was old. Honestly was freaked out the whole time I ate my meal. Resturant was very nice and elegant. Good prices but I will not be going back.

There's plenty of Chinese takeout places in the Metro Detroit area and a lot of people have recommended Gim Ling so I had to give it a try. I got the sweet and sour chicken (orange sauce rather than the typical red), general taos chicken, and crab rangoon. Overall, the chicken was juicy and tender but I thought the flavor of the sauces were lacking, kind of bland. The rice had more flavor than the chicken. Portions were pretty average in my opinion. I preferred the sweet and sour chicken more and I am a big general taos advocate and that is my go to at every restaurant. The crab rangoon was more cream cheese than crab and the dipping sauce tasted like straight vinegar. Love that I got to support a local business but will probably try a different Chinese takeout place next time.

Sesame chicken. Was spiced just to my liking!

Without a doubt, my favorite Chinese restaurant. I know a lot of people prefer PF Changs as a more upscale Chinese experience, but not me. Gim Ling gives you the same upscale and modern feel at a cheaper cost. Located in a busy shopping strip, Gim Ling definitely gives you a good vibe upon entering. The place itself is quite cozy, playing classical music in addition to having a nice atmosphere. This isn't your typical Chinese restaurant. Prices are a *tad* bit more than your typical Chinese restaurant. However, it is worth it. Most everything is around $9 - $12, and that's not even including the complete meal, which is a few dollars more and includes an egg roll, roll, soup, rice, and dessert. Don't let the higher price scare you aware --- the food here is delicious! Sesame chicken is my go-to meal at any Chinese restaurant. However, Gim Ling actually asks how spicy you want it, rather than saying it's spicy when it's really not (I'm looking at you, Leongs) I usually get mine "medium" and I like that it adds a bit of a kick to my meal. Not enough to make your eyes water but enough to make you happy you didn't ask for anything super spicy. The vegetables provided are onions, peas, and carrots and they actually taste fresh! Egg rolls are made here with veggies for anyone that has allergies to shrimp or any other seafood. The ice cream here is surprisingly divine as well. If you're in the St. Clair Shores area, I highly recommend dining here at least once! They're closed on Mondays, however, but have great hours otherwise. Service is great and food is even better. Don't let the negative reviews scare you away. Gim Ling is a keeper.

Always a good meal. The Staff are friendly and it is always a extremely clean establishment.

    Sesame chicken combo

Food was very tasty as always.. but your portion size is getting smaller and smaller. Both smaller side spaces use to be filled with rice.. rice is not that expensive. Prices have also increased some which is understandable.

Poor business practices. Staff is not friendly. Sad that they have unique menu items, but the rest is off putting.

No. I wish. Staffing is the main issue but we carry out from there often. Their food never disappoints.

It has a cute, classic diner feel--nothing recently updated, but it was clean and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. We brought our three young kids and ordered them each a kids meal: chicken tenders with fries, spaghetti, and a cheeseburger with fries. The portions were generous and we even had leftovers, but at $10 per kids meal, the pricing felt pretty steep. We started with the bread basket and pickles, which were both good. My husband ordered the Monterey Jack chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. He first tried the chicken noodle soup but thought it had a sour aftertaste, so he switched to the beef barley, which unfortunately wasn't much better. His chicken entrée had good flavor, but it was just one thin, butterflied chicken breast. I ordered the New Yorker with fries, which I enjoyed--it was solid and satisfying. When the bill came to around $80, it just didn't feel justified for a deli/diner-style meal. Overall, the food was okay, but the pricing felt high for what you get--especially for a family outing. I might stop in again solo for a sandwich, but we likely won't be bringing the whole family back, mainly due to the cost of the kids meals.

Order a Soup and salad with the Midtown salad and chili cabbage, NY style Turkey Rueben and baby Greek with feta on the side and small GF chicken tenders with bbq and honey mustard sauce, bumpy cake. $65.19 The Greek salad is so-so, made with iceberg. It's not special. The chili cabbage was good, good broth for the soup. The midtown is packed and topped with bacon. The turkey Rueben is meh, quite bland. The onion rings are quite good. The batter is light and airy. The Russian dressing is quite bland. The slaw isn't enough to give the turkey Rueben sandwich taste or feel. The GF chicken tender looks like panko, it's crunchy and the meat is tender and not dry at all. The honey mustard sauce is too bad, he's BBQ too. The complimentary pickles are decent, not crunchy though. Service is good. Food quantity is quite generous here. The onion rings and the chili soup are both good. Bumpy cake was cut into row halves, that was thoughtful, it was quite good.

The inside has an old-school diner vibe, which could be charming, but the overall experience didn't quite match. Staff interaction was neutral--not unfriendly, but not particularly welcoming either. My husband ordered the Lynne sandwich and I had the Adele, along with a bowl of matzo ball soup. The soup was definitely the highlight--flavorful and comforting--but at nearly $9 for a bowl, it felt overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, the sandwiches didn't live up to expectations. The meat was piled in the center of the bread, leaving the ends with little to nothing in each bite, which made them feel poorly constructed and just overall mediocre. We were also surprised by the number of upcharges--extra for toasting the bread, extra for grilling, and even a 3% fee for using a credit card. It all adds up quickly. For two sandwiches and a shared soup, our total came to just over $40, which felt steep given the quality. It's disappointing because we wanted to like this place, but the high prices just didn't align with the food or experience. Unfortunately, we'll likely be crossing Uncle Harry's off our list.

I have ordered a couple of times now and don't think I'll be back to the Roseville Panera. They seem to be frequently out of key ingredients. When I made a breakfast order, they didn't have any eggs (so basically couldn't get any breakfast sandwich). When I wanted to order a salad for lunch, they were out of the green goddess dressing (that's my go-to Panera salad). Had issues with service being slow when I ordered lunch for pickup while at work. I arrived right when the app said my food should have been ready, and then I waited for a full 20 more minutes at the pickup counter. I definitely feel for the workers who were there that day, because there were several customers who were quite rude to them when it seemed like the employees were doing their best with a short staff and too many orders. However, I do think there needs to be some process improvements with organization behind the counter, because the app told me my order was ready, and I could see a bag behind the counter, but they didn't realize it was my order until about 5 minutes later when another customer and I were able to get their attention and asked whose order was sitting behind the counter. Not sure why they wouldn't immediately put the bag on the pickup area as soon as it's ready? I noticed another review where a customer had the same experience, so it seems to be somewhat of a pattern. TL;DR: The food is fine. Service is slow and this location seems to be frequently out of some ingredients. Would not recommend if you are trying to get a quick lunch while at work, or are otherwise on a time crunch.
