Portions are large. The chicken in my general taos was dry and hard it's expensive. We probably won't be back.

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant!! Every time I'm in town, I must visit to get the Almond Boneless Chicken and the yeast bread rolls. You used to be able to dine it, but after COVID that changed. The staff is always nice to me, but that's because I am always nice. If you get smart, expect them to return the favor. One of the best Chinese food places I've had anywhere including Shanghai. Egg rolls spot on, S/s shicken amazing, almond chicken amazing. I don't eat bread, but everyone that's had them says the rolls are really good too. The only tip is to always get the sauce on the side. They like to over-sauce and it's swimming but I like to dip and have lighter sauce. It's Eastpointe, so expect a bit of a run-down vibe outside. Staff comes across a bit short until you know them, then they're great. I like supporting local family owned rather than some chain. read more

We stop here every time we are in the area. Don't let the 8-Mile Rd location fool you. This place has been a staple in the community for years. It's a great story... the original cook bought it and still cooks there today after more than 30 years. So many delicious options. The egg rolls may be the best I've ever had, crispy wrapper and tasty inside. They make their own plum sauce... use that one... it's fantastic. We love their soups and thick moist buns that come with it. The wonton soup is my fave. The staff are kind and the owner works hard there every day. It can be a busy place, and it's a mistake to interpret being busy or direct as impolite. We go so often that they recognize is and we make delightful small talk. This was a horrible experience from me and my moms dinner . First off The egg drop soup was just like eating gravy out of the can and my moms pork lo mein noodles were Overcooked and gluey and The pork wasn't cooked all the way and not even browned and there was no sauce on the pork lo mein. my general Taos chicken wasn't spicy there was no spice on it whatsoever and it was salty and it wasn't the best experience ever and won't be coming back here again read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. Every time I come back to MI I have to comeback here for ABC. You can't get that anywhere else in the country. I always tell them that I have moved out of state and in to visit and how much I love their sauce. They always give me a couple of extra containers of sauce to take back with me . Maybe its nostagia because I remember eating here when I was 3 years old, and my parents brought us here all the time...But I just love eating here! If you ask for a dish hot and spicey it will be hot and spicey. The food is always flavorful and good. They have amazing dinner rolls that are so sweet they need no butter...but are great for mopping up sauce. They will ask if you want General Tso breaded or unbreaded. And I LOVE that not all dishes have deep fried chicken like so many others. The dining room is nice and just brings back lots of great memories for me. Beware. I ordered food for myself and my grandchildren. Broccoli with chicken for them and Szechuan chicken for me. I love spicy food. On the menu, under the "Spicy" Szechuan title, was my order, which I pointed out to the hostess when ordering. After receiving my orders, I went to the home of my grandkids and shared. The food was decent, the kids loved it. I did too. But my Szechuan was sweet, not spicy. I thought the restaurant made a mistake, so I returned, not to ask for a refund, but to let them know what happened. The hostess said that Szechuan is sweet not spicy, made with sugar. Hot sauce (spice) is added when you ask for it, otherwise it's mild. I explained that I've never had Szechuan that wasn't even mildly spicy and the menu didn't have any indication that it came without some spice. In fact, the menu had hot peppers at the Szechuan title, which was in red, as well as red asterisks for the spicy hot items on most of the Szechuan orders. She said that she thought I wanted mild because I had ordered the chicken and broccoli from the mild side. So beware. Check your orders before you leave. If you don't and they goof, you'll get some cock-a-mammie story about how each restaurant has it's own recipes for an order that should be universal. I don't plan on going back. read more
