I visited for the second time during a packed Spurs game. I sat at the bar, and AC (bartender) and Solis (server) took great care of me. Anytime I needed a refill on my drink, napkins, water, etc., they were able to help me quickly. AC was great company at the bar and definitely kept the vibes going. He was hilarious! I ended up ordering the wings on steak night, but the wings were absolutely phenomenal, and the fries were crispy and fresh. I'll be sure to get the steak next time. AC told me about the local brews and liquor, and I found my new favorite vodka because of AC. I'll definitely be asking for Live Oak vodka anywhere I go now. Coming into the Gimme Gimme made me feel like I wasn't in San Antonio. The vibes right off the bat as you walk in make you feel like your at your favorite tia and tios (aunt and uncles) house right off the bat. The red lighting, booths, and the welcoming bar and staff hit just right. There is a very welcoming vibe here no doubt where you know you will end up chilling for a good minute, with a nice cold beer, and some really good comfort food too. I had been wanting to stop in to Gimme Gimme for a minute and I ended up coming here with a coworker during the week while in town for a work conference. Not far from the Tower of Americas and located in Southtown, this is the spot you go to chill out, get some good food, meet some cool peeps, and watch the Spurs play. I saw a pool table here too although we didn't get a chance to play. I know they got wing and steak nights on top of showing all the Spurs games during the NBA season. I saw some football games on here too during our visit and I am sure they would be down to find the game you want to watch if you ask nicely. Although it was during the week I was here there were plenty of patrons/regulars hanging out and chowing down on some wings. We had the Frito pie and some Oaxaca cheese sticks too. It slammed and paired perfectly with my happy meal of a beer and a whiskey shot. Parking was easy and seemed like neighborhood parking mostly but during the week I am sure you will have no issues finding a spot here. We had the opportunity to finally stop in to eat and drink at this really chill bar and eatery after the dia de los muertos festival downtown. I really didn't know what to expect, but the ambiance of this bar is slightly divey but also trendy at the same time. It definitely fits the Southtown charm! We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted and given the drink and food specials of the day. I order the chili cheese dog and my friend ordered the smash burger special with a beer. The chili cheese dog was delicious with high quality ingredients. The cheeseburger and fries looked delicious too, but sadly I didn't get to try them.... maybe next time. Know before you go: There is parking in the back of the building, but it's limited. The menu is small, but I think that is appropriate for a dive bar and grill. read more

So sad to see it change. They no longer operate their kitchen but have a marginal "pop-up" doing it. Order and pay online for the food. I tipped the server online and kind of wondered why since it was like a fast food drive through experience. Drinks are now bar service only. Again, they've never been great, but now you have to stand at a bar for them and it is just not worth it. They turned off the music and blasted the game over the speakers which just made it feel like a tacky sports bar with no character. I live in Southtown and have been to gimme gimme a handful of times. I like the vibe and music. However, the last time my boyfriend and i were there, the bartender with the gladiator glasses and mullet was very rude. I asked if they had white claws and very sharp and condescending he said "i have high noons, same thing" Yeah okay sir it's actually NOT the same so i said politely, may i have the cocktail menu and he like flung that menu at me and my bf so rudely and walked away so fast... I mean come on dude? We're locals and that was just so out of pocket. The whole night we were being ignored by the bar staff, even the other guy that took our order had his back and side to us the entire time we were there. So we were pretty disappointed. Don't be rude to locals, i work in customer service and food service, you don't treat customers this way. The food is good and the vibe is so cool. came here a number of times, initially having a good experience the first couple of trips, the last two have to be a huge let down. the food is amazing! love the specials! however the staff is incompetent at most a few trips we'd have an obviously drunk waitress, man at the bar w the glasses picking his nose before serving drinks, i also do not appreciate the practice of servers sitting next to you while you pay or leave a tip. my last trip was awful. again, food was amazing but they accidentally gave my food to another table and we watched it happen. another employee who was not our server directed a male employee to give our food to another party at the bar. when our server came out she realized what a mistake her coworker made, delaying our food another 20 minutes. however there was the slightest bit of empathy in our servers explanation that someone else was eating our food at the bar. there was no free drink offered, a free desert, a discount. nothing just "sorry they gave it to someone else". after this time i'm done coming here. i love supporting local restaurants and never go to chains however there is a huge inconsistency in service and the staff here needs a lot of training. this is a great place with great food, just wished the customer service wasn't lacking. there is so much potential to be an amazing experience every time. read more

I had an awful experience at this place for my very first time ever being here last night. I was physically assaulted in the bathroom and attacked by two women in the stall. I had just arrived with my partner to get some late dinner and needed to use the bathroom before ordering food and that's when it occurred. I managed to escape the 2 women from the restroom and ran to the nearest bar tender to let him know what had just happened and he did nothing. I let my partner know immediately and we followed the women outside so I could get police involved. My partner was speaking with the bouncer Chris and one of the bartenders named Esteban we asked about speaking to management and about me getting assualted. They did not do a single thing, they continued to say we couldn't speak to any manager and that we should just leave and generally they did not care. Not one staff member asked me if I was alright not even after I made my own call to 911. Not even after all 4 police officers and 4 firefighters showed up to establishment did they once ask me if I was alright or asked if they could help with anything. As soon as police showed up Chris the bouncer went inside the bar and hid behind the window and was watching us speak to SAPD. The women who attacked me were outside and one of them even dropped her phone and one of the staff members gave her her phone back while we were trying to get help. I am always in this area and am not one to ever complain about establishments but this was ridiculous and unacceptable. I was beaten in the bathroom and these staff did not care one bit. Very disappointed we were looking forward to try this new place. read more

Stopped by last night at 6pm for their Friday Happy House special. Let's begin, the atmosphere, and cleanliness of the place was superior beyond belief. The bar looked wonderful, the booths were comfortable. The restrooms were clean, the staff was very fun and friendly. I put 4 and not 5 stars because of a couple of things, most importantly the $1 Wings is a false advertisement - you buy wings but a mim of 6, so you might as well say they have 6 wings for $6 dollars. If you want 7 or 8 wings, it's not allowed - you have to order another minimum of 6 for $6 wings. You also can't mismatch, 3 buffalo and 3 of the other Asian infusion zesty tasting ones. We even told the server there were way too many rules to this bar. Their drink menu wasn't that fabulous, didn't have much of a wine list or cocktails - more of a shot list lol. The music was very rock and 80's which nothing wrong with that, it went with the place - atmosphere. I'd def be back - the atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly - I'd just suggest clearer promotional flyers. Again it's not $1 wings. $1 wings is you allowing the consumer to pick the amount of wings they want. Congrats to the new business! read more

Ended up with an empty glass sitting in front of me for about 15 minutes waiting for my second side. This is with three bartenders and only two tables not at the bar.
