Live Band in the back! What a view right next to the Alamo Dome!

This place truly caught us off guard, but in the best possible way! We met up with friends to check out a band called Soul Grammar (which rock btw) and ending up having THE BEST TIME! From the atmosphere, the views, to the food, it was all great. We ordered $20 bottles of Prosecco and a few IPAs, along with Smoked Wings, Waygu Frito Pie and an Italian Sandwich. The food is actually amazing! We loved being able to go right up to the side window and place our orders easily and then have everything delivered to our table. They have a huge patio area with tables so you can sit outside and enjoy the music and food when the weather is nice (as it usually is). The bandstand features a backdrop of the Alamodome and the tower of Americas which makes for epic photos. The bar area inside is super cute and has a small stage where they do smaller shows and karaoke during the week. Cannot wait to get back to Dakota!

Love love love!! First of all, food was sooooooo good. Absolutely love the vibe of the place. Art work is very much in line with the neighborhood and it really felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. Staff was super friendly, other patrons were friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Love the staff. Bring your dog. Inside or outside is fine. I ordered the biscuits with chopped brisket, bbq sauce, and pickles. Everything tasted great and the chef brought it out himself. Two side salads. You can get chips but I got an extra salad to be healthy. They make their own ranch here and it is so good! Top it off with a little balsamic. An amazing salad. Well done!

Have been wanting to check this place out since they opened, so a group of us decided to head out early on a Saturday and enjoy some food and drinks at this Eastside Neighborhood Bar on a nice SA winter day. The patio area is large and great for groups, while the inside is a bar going down the length of the inside that started to get packed with people as we ate and drank outside. They are really a beer and wine bar, with lower alcohol (like wine vodka). Beer selection was good and they pour a large pint + of draft beers. The bartender was friendly and gave some recommendations for food (I will have to come back for the carnitas!). We decided to go with the Sishitos & Sausage and the Nacos for my vegetarian friend. It was a good start for our night to hold us over for our bar hoppin' night!

We were surprised to have the place all to ourselves but the food was lights out delicious--Fritos bean pie and the brisket biscuits. Super fast and warm service and great Día de los muertos vibe. Yum.

    The Jazz Jam!

The Dakota is one of the only bars I know that has a weekly jazz jam (theirs is on Thursdays). My boyfriend and I have been coming here for awhile, but I love the ambiance of the place and the music. My favorite dish is of course the Hardcore Corn because I love elote and hot cheeto's. It's great getting to come out after school and listen to the jam sessions. The full bar is a great plus.

Beer, wine and pizza...what's not to love about The Growler Exchange?…read more For those of you who have never been to this amazing business before, The Growler Exchange is a tap room and restaurant which carries a huge variety of unique beers, as well as some of the most delicious pizza you've ever had in your life. I've been a regular at this restaurant for 5 years and I can tell you that quality has stayed the same throughout the years. I also appreciate that they now have a bigger variety of wines and you can also buy beer and wine to-go. If you are looking to try their amazing pizza, their most popular pie (and my husband's favorite) is their Mike's Special which is a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon and topped with honey drizzle. However, if you prefer something spicy (like I do), I highly recommend their Spicy Meat Sweats which is also a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, garlic sausage, pepperoni, salami, bacon and topped with some very spicy chili oil. Hope everyone gets to try this amazing local business, and don't forget to bring your growler with you! PSA for the parents: They do welcome kids, and they even have a changing station in the women's bathroom.

Service is super quick here especially if you are trying to grab something quickly and continue your exploration around this area. The price point on the cocktails and beers here are super reasonably especially for the area. Happy Hour is daily too so don't sleep on going over here to grab a drink or a canned beer The colorful menus draw you in besides the charm of the nicest bartenders here. There is a drink for every drinker here that includes non-alcoholic (NA) drinks as well so don't be shy. If you see something on the menu that calls you get it. Your drinks will be carefully created right in front of you and with the freshest herbs (like lavender and dry fruits) and juices you can find on this side of 281. My friend and I ended up getting a couple of drinks off their seasonal menu. I got a lavender lemonade and she opted for an Aperol spritz cocktail that we took outside to enjoy the sunshine while daydreaming about living inside The Pearl. The amount of history in this building where the Park Bar is located is remarkable and fascinating. It was super cool to be drinking in such a historic building that used to be a bottling department that would bottle the beers back in the day.

I had the pleasure of getting here for Taco Tuesday and for a Thursday when I wanted more. In…read moreterms of tacos, this is as authentic as Mexican street food gets. As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!
