Came across this dive bar when antique shopping nearby. I love the vibes and like that it's decorated more feminine than most sports bars. The mural at the front and the menu branding is really cute! There's lots of TVs and comfortable seating throughout. I could see this being a great meeting spot for a small group to host a private party. There's even a few modern slot machines near the front. We came on a Monday afternoon, so we didn't try any drinks. The wings and food is apparently supplied by Gold Feather, (a chicken chain with a location by North Star). Unfortunately, the food was the worst part. The side of fries is super small for $5. We got a chicken tender basket with the jalapeño ranch rub and it was sooooo salty! It had a nice kick to it, but was unbearable to eat in the salt. We also ordered fried pickles, which had such a light batter it was falling off the pickle. It seemed like it was fried after the chicken so it was also pretty salty. The servers seemed really nice here, but someone didn't prep the food quite right. The chicken was also pretty dry. I feel bad the food wasn't good cause otherwise it's be a really fun spot! I think we'd still come back to watch a game, shoot some pool and have a drink or two. read more

Ordered take out for dinner while in San Antonio. Upon arriving I had the realization that LadyBird is more of a bar than a restaurant, even though they do have the full working kitchen. I was able to get me my food that was bagged up & ready to go when expected. I ordered the Uptown Grilled Cheese with the Duck fat fries and the Chipotle BBQ Shrimp with the Cajun fries. Once I arrived at my final location & opened the bag I was a little disappointed. The images on their Yelp page menu for the grilled cheese have a bowl of soup in the pic - right or wrong I assumed this is what I was ordering so no soup to eat with my sandwich was a bit disappointing. The sandwich itself was not really impressive, neither were the Duck fries. The shrimp and Cajun fries were tasty and salvaged the visit. Would I make a special trip for food again? Probably not. Quite honestly, the drinks were disgusting. I tried the pink lady, swimming daiquiri, and the spicy pineapple margarita. Pink lady had no flavor, the daiquiri which looked appealing to the eye tasted like windex and the margarita had no hint of spice or pineapple!! However, the duck tacos, wagyu burger, and the fish and chips were DELICIOUS!!!!!! The jam on the wagyu burger was something to rave about itself! The location started as a beer garden with a full, interesting menu. Now, it is a bar with a few food items - sad to see the bulk of the menu gone. I will also say I struggled between a 3 and a 4. Pros: 1. Service was very nice. 2. The price was reasonable. 3. And drum roll. the food was really good. I loved the sliders!! Good mix of juicy hamburger with caramelized onions, bacon jam, and cheddar. The fries were seasoned well. Cons: 1. Snap, it was loud! 2. Given that food is not their thing, it was a bit slow. 3. Come to find out when we got the bill that it was NOT on happy hour. And when approached about our concerns of being told they were on happy hour They do not want to honor their word on the fact. I was a regular here at this establishment I enjoyed the vibe and the atmosphere. It was close to my house and loved supporting small businesses like this. When I brought up my concerns of the shots not being on happy hour I was given attitude and not one apology on the matter of their own barista not knowing what was on happy hour and what wasn't. The weather outside wasn't too cold so we checked out @ladybirdbeergarden and it's 1200 square foot patio. I ordered the food and drinks with Janell at the bar and she brought out all the food. They've started with a limited menu with plans to expanding further. We ordered the Pork Bao Buns, Fish and Chips, Ceviche and Duck Tacos. My husband and I had the Austin Eastciders Pineapple and Dad had Sprite. They're still working on getting their fountain drinks. The bao buns were the best of all the food. The slaw really elevates the taste. In terms of meat, @drinkartea has overflowing meat. The fish is Mahi Mahi and was good. Wish there were a few more pieces. Both the duck tacos and ceviche had a spicy kick to it. Look forward to what the expanded menu would include. I believe cocktails will be added too. I think I came on an off day. I wasn't able to order any happy hour food because it was literally only 1 bartender in the whole building. There was no cook, and he was coming later in the evening. So only alcohol and chips and salsa were available. My frozen marg was fine, I think it was a grapefruit or cherry flavor. The bartender was friendly, but I was really bummed that I couldn't order any food...I would be willing to come back on another day, maybe in the evening when food can be served. read more

I had been hearing about this place on social media for a while. I finally got a chance to go. The outside patio is nice, but the seating is very limited. The inside reminds me of an icehouse. It's open to the back patio. They do have plenty of inside seating. They also have bar seating. I love the relax style. They have board games you can borrow. I saw plenty of people playing. I started out with the night hawk. I don't like sweet drinks, so this was perfect. I also tried one of their beers on tap. I ended up getting the mango cart. It was light with a hint of sweetness. For those that don't like beer, this is the perfect alternative. The food was just ok. I was surprised by the serving of fish in the fish and chips. For the price, I would have expected at least two pieces. The fish was hardy and perfectly battered. The fries were ok. You can't really mess up fries. The main meals were a little pricy for the location and type of establishment. Parking is very limited. We did find street parking. They do have some parking the in the lot, but it is shared with the other businesses. I did see a few dogs, so I'm assuming it is dog friendly. The bartender was excellent in giving suggestions. She was also friendly. To order food or drinks, just follow the signs at the bar. They do give you a number and bring your food out. read more

I normally do not give bad reviews but this visit wasn't what I was expecting. Great things about this place: Service (attentive), recommending drinks (gave samples and listened to what I was looking for), and location. Some turnoffs: The amount of flys and bugs around the inside of the restaurant. I ordered food and killed about 6 or 7 before I decided I would have my food to go because I didn't want to eat it with flys around me. Even had a beer with some around my glass and some that flew inside. I get it, bars have flys because of the outdoors, and the various sweet stuff behind the bar, but the amount was just a little too excessive in my opinion for me. I came in to have some beers and dinner. I was surprised the bartenders at a Beer Garden don't know beer. I wanted a specific type of IPA and they admitted they didn't know anything about what was on tap. Disappointing. When I did make choice, it was out. This is common here. I ended up with something I didn't really want. I tried to order food (at 7:30) and they told me the cook hadn't come in. Why have menus out when there is no cook? The bartender said she would drop some wings (their wings are good) but she never did. I was charged and she just walked away. I paid and just left my beer on the counter. Frustrating. With the wings, sometimes there is a special, sometimes there isn't. I came for that wing special, but if the manager or owner isn't there, it doesn't exist. It's just so poorly run it's difficult to have an enjoyable experience, and they may or may not even have food. I live right around the corner, and so want to like this place, but it's too uneven to recommend. read more

We were house-hunting in the area and stopped by on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The patio is dog-friendly and roomy, although it was pretty busy and we waiting a very short while for a table. You order at the bar (service was good there, but our food took a while to come out). I ordered the Spicy Pineapple Margarita to start, the fish and chips for hubs and the Garlic Parm wings for me. Even though we waited for our food for quite a while, it was delicious. The chicken wings are enormous! They come with a pile of fries and they came out hot and tasty! Loved our experience at Lady Bird. We were looking for a family day out and came across this business. It was super kid friendly and very calm. To our surprise they have board games and our family partakes in family game nights (huge bonus) we had dinner taken care of and game night. The variety of finger food made it easy to find something for all the kids, who doesn't love queso? They had some chalk for the outdoor seating area but that will have to wait for next time. As another reviewer said, the vibes were LOW the minute we walked in. I've been wanting to come by forever because I pass by every day on the way home from work, and we finally stopped by on a Friday night. At first it was chill with a mixed crowd but again, low vibes. The patio is perfect. Two lonestars and two shots of well tequila came out to $34 LOL. For some reason there were 3 bartenders for an extremely sparse crowd. The bartenders were ok, but they kept playing the same songs over and over then continuously skipping songs after 1 minute. And that was on top of a bunch of ads being played in between songs (seriously?!). That truly ruined the experience for me. I've never been to a bar with such crappy music especially on FRIDAY night. On top of that they said the juke box was "broken" This place has sooo much potential, and with the right management it could easily be 5 stars. Hit me up I have some great ideas!! Haha. Clean house and hire some serious bartenders and cooks with knowledge, consistent happy hour and daily specials, plus some regular music theme nights (emo, tejano, metal, country nights) . I've been here twice now. I really think they would be better off dropping "Beer Garden" from their name. This is not a Beer Garden. The beers aren't properly poured, they fill them up to the top with no head retention. I overheard one of the bartenders training another employee on how to pour beers this way, which is not proper protocol. All beers are poured in promotional shaker pints, which is being super nitpicky, but it's not a proper vessel to serve beer in. Looking at their menu, it's all from one distributor which means they signed an exclusive agreement. While there is a variety, it's a lot of beer that is not technically craft. I'd love to see more local options here. This area needs a true beer garden with knowledgeable staff who can describe beer and speak to the beers they have on tap, tasting notes and fitting beers that would make guests happy or expand their knowledge. The cocktails are pricey and can be hit or miss, without a real standard for consistency. You're better off ordering mixed drinks. There is no table service, which is perfectly fine for the vibe. You order everything at the bar. The music can be really loud and more "club" vibe when the lights are on. Which leads to a lot of screaming both inside and outside. I've had to ask to turn the music down outside because I could not hear my date. Along with the music being loud, they flicker with the bass inside, which was a concern for my friend with epilepsy and we left because we weren't sure it would trigger an episode. The first time I visited, we ordered the tacos to share with a side of fries. The tacos were really good and a nice shareable plate. We shared an order of duck fat fries, which came out lukewarm and once they got cold were a little too greasy to finish. The second time we got Margarita Fries which were hot and really good! I wish they served it with a sauce and not just ketchup, which would elevate the dish. The first time I came out, the bar back they had clearing dishes and running food was so nice and attentive. I really appreciated the attention to detail. He made the night enjoyable. The bartenders are really nice and friendly, which is a plus. tl;dr: not really a beer garden, cocktails are not consistent yet, food is good but sides can be hit or miss, tooo loud, but great service. read more

We could not get enough of the fries and the sauce, which tasted like a spicy jalapeño sauce. Pretty good!! The wings are enormous and very flavorful. Went for the first time this weekend and the food was great! The atmosphere was very comfortable and felt like it was a place to gather with good company while enjoying good food and drinks.
