Came here for the pop up bbq event that they hosted. the bar itself is casual with a beach vibe. nice and chill atmosphere with sand in the patio seating area. They serve cocktails, beer and wine along with traditional bar food. Since we came specifically for the ribs, that's all I have to go by in terms of food. As you could see from the pictures, the ribes were phenomenal and surprisingly enough the pickle salad was absolutely delicious. overall, the staff was very friendly, helpful and we enjoyed our experience. Looking forward to other pop up foodie events.

This past Saturday night I was outside again lol. After leaving Hollywood, I pulled up to Gin Rummy in Marina Del Rey. Ikr, that was a lil drive haha. After discovering this bar earlier on Apple Maps or Yelp, I thought it'll be a great idea to add this spot to my bucket list. Was able to find street parking nearby which was great. Not a far walk at all from there. Upon walking up we saw people outside and heard loud music which appeared to be a lit night lol. No hassle showing our ID's before entering. Quick and easy. Security was real cool. A lot of people present which was cool and not boring. The inside appeared to be clean and well organized. Tropical vibes and decor making it feel as if you're at a beach bar. A patio and spaces to chill and socialize outside. Immediately found a spot at the bar. Bartender was able to attend to us right away. Nice dude. Real cool. Smiling and laughing the whole time while making our cocktails. They had food but we did not order. I really wanted the bbq that ppl on yelp were mentioning about but unfortunately, they did not pull up this night. Back to the drinks tho lol. I don't remember what I purchased lol but the total was like $34 and some change. My date had this fancy cute a$$ fruity cocktail in this beautiful glass lol so you know hers cost more hahaha well worth it too !!! Knowing me, I probably had another whisky, an old fashioned to be exact. Thinking back to that night and the video I recorded, it was definitely an "old fashioned" lol. Just how I love em. Drink prices were not bad, about average for Los Angeles County I would say. I expect to pay at least $13+ for a cocktail when out and depending on the location could be a lil pricey. But in the end it's all about the experience and creating new moments right ??? Will I be back ??? Yes da phugg I will lol oh and they have some arcade games so we jumped on the pinball machine which was fun for a date night out in Marina Del Rey. No complaints. Oh and the restrooms were also clean must I add. Hopefully next time I'll catch the bbq so I can pair that up with a cocktail and just enjoy myself.

The most delicious pjna colada I ever had. My family and I came to Gin Rummy to have APL's bbq and got drinks to enjoy with it. The cocktail selection here is amazing and I can't wait to come back and try other drinks. The service was wonderful and the ambiance really cool. Loved it.

I love a tiki bar and Gin Rummy makes so great drinks! My go to is a painkiller-which is delish but also served in a pineapple, so really who can say no to additional tastiness that it infuses? They have their own limited food menu, but also currently have APL BBQ popping up on the weekends -and they recommitted through fall. Night time turns into a party vibe, but you can make it what you want with the indoor/outdoor beach vibes.

This place is loud as hell and surprisingly full of young people. And yet... the cocktails are good, there's live music, and the service is quick, so there's not much to complain about. Not sure it's a place I could spend a ton of time without feeling too old, but it's enjoyable for a couple drinks!

I used to go to Nueva at this location, and Gin Rummy has kept the fun atmosphere with better prices and a new tiki theme! Their happy hour drink deals are great for West LA! Food: 8/10 Drinks: 10/10 Affordable: 10/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Vegan-friendly: 7/10

First time here since this place was updated to Gin Rummy, the ambiance of the outside seating area is pretty cool. The inside is obnoxiously loud, but seems to be fun for big groups. It's a little annoying that you have to get up and order drinks every time, but the food can be ordered directly to your table via QR code. The service at the bar is not too bad if it's not busy, but it's really annoying that they don't let you order drinks directly to the table. The drinks are decent tasting, but nothing amazing. Food/Drinks: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 3.5/5

Pina colada and pain killer cocktails.

How have we not had a tiki bar in Venice/Marina yet?! I've watched this bar change over so many times, but I think it's finally found it's mark. For those who are sad to see Nueva go, I believe it's the same owners. They still have some of the same food - Brussel sprouts, fried cauliflower, tacos, and they've added more options. Now let's talk about the cocktails. They are delicious with generous pours. The daiquiris and margaritas are strong. My favorite so far is the guava and mango flavors. The best drink, in my opinion, is the pina colada. It comes in a pineapple glass and tastes amazing. There's QR codes at the table to order food, but you need to order drinks at the bar. They added a back bar for when it gets busy, but it can take a bit to get served. I'm hoping this process gets a bit better. This is definitely a fun date night spot or just grab some friends and put on your best tropical wear, and go have some awesome cocktails.

Super fun nautical spot! They play awesome music, and there's an outdoor section that's fantastic for hanging out. The drinks are good, I got an expresó Martino and the bartender was very speedy! Really like this place has an incredible vibe to it

I've taken too long to review this fine place!…read more I came here with my daughter in honor of Morher's Day. JM, the manager was super nice and helpful. He even surprised us with the delicious dessert. Elizabeth was so sweet and always on hand to make sure we were happy. The service was perfection and the food was in a class of its own. Do not hesitate and order their chicken! It's no wonder everyone keeps raving about it!

MULBERRY - LOTS OF HYPE, LACKING REAL KOREAN FLAVOR AND -  EXPENSIVE…read more I make my own reservations and pay my own bills when I dine out.  PROS: The patio is the place to dine, Service was excellent, two dishes were worth the visit CONS: The food lacks authentic Korean flavor, it's expensive, and there's no regular bar--only fancy organic alcohol with unfamiliar names. PROTIP: Study the menu beforehand, eat on the Patio, order the Wngs and Short Rib and Try Son Nong Dan across the street. SUMMARY: Go to Koreatown and get better food for less I finally visited the much hyped Mulberry the other night, expecting a fantastic experience based on all the hype and social media. What I got was an overpriced meal on Sawtelle that watered down what should have been a showcase for excellent Korean food.  Mulberry is cramped and dark on the inside and excellent on the patio. There are some interesting tables inside near the back, but the Patio is where the action is, especially when the sun is out.It has shades of Hatchet Hall's ambiance and a great vibe. Service comes fast and is very good. They do know what they are doing from a service perspective. Drink orders arrive quickly, and food is served fairly fast. We knew what we wanted before going. Korean Pancake, Wings, Dumplings, Acorn Noodles and Short Ribs.  Korean Pancake - small and just ok flavor. The sauce was good, but for $17, you could get a giant, better tasting pancake almost anywhere else. Fried Chicken Wings - probably one of the two stars of the night--had a fantastic crust and were very plump and juicy. Sauce and pickles were excellent and you get two types of wings with each order, both were excellent.  Acorn Noodles - a very good mix of flavors, good nori, the hard-boiled egg (a surprise) was good--expensive for $22Steamed Dumplings - well made and cooked well, but the lackluster sauce served with them didn't help. A well-crafted dumpling that needs a much more flavorful sauce to accompany it.  Beef Short Ribs - The other star on the menu, along with the wings. Very tender and great taste. Use the salt! We ordered the extras which you don't have to do. Small piece for $49. It's a No Tip restaurant so you get the automatic 20% charge - which I did not mind. Pay the help. Our bill came to $200 for a meal that was probably worth $100.You can go to some of the AYCE Korean BBQ places and get better quality, more food and be happier. The hype for this place will die down. If you like Sawtelle go to Son Nong Dan across the street for an overall better experience and better pricing.

The speakeasy is unique and even serves full menu of great food! Aesthetic & Ambiance: 9.5/10 - it was very prohibition themed and the menus being price/luggage tags was very fun. Came on a saturday night at 6:30 reservation and it was very quiet with us being the only table most of the evening. The outside restaurant has live bands which can be a little loud. Service: 100/10 - Markley was the bartender and the only one who operates the speakeasy, she's not only the best bartender Ive had custom drinks from, but she also makes each individual product herself. She explained every part of the drinks and ingredients, and even offered to make any kind of drink we'd want if there was nothing on her menu. Deviled eggs: 7.5/10 interesting they were fried, but had great flavor all over Mongolian Beef: 8/10 very good flavor, and rice was tasty, but the sauce was a little salty. Went early to see if anything opened or if walk-in would be faster, surprisingly they actually had something come available sooner. We opted to sit inside and loved the ambiance. Food - amazing! I read reviews first and watched a couple IG videos so I knew a general idea of what we wanted to order. Glad the server suggested the orange chicken over the walnut shrimp when we were debating it. Chil wontons, absolutely a must get, different from DTF, not crazy spicy but full of flavor and richness. XO fatty noodles, perfect chewiness on the rolled noodles and the flavors were well balanced, we enjoyed them with a little chili paste and the orange chicken as the protein. Orange chicken, soooo much more flavorful than your average Panda Express orange chicken, good sized nuggets of chicken that were crispy and tender at the same time, and the zest livened it up. BBQ pork shank, our server did warn us it's not the easiest to eat, but it's worth it, hard to see cutting it off the bone because it was so dimly lite in the restaurant and your hands will get sticky but once you get chunks off the bone and your bao bun built it's delicious especially when you get the lacquered crispy skin yummm! Only skip for the night was the mango sticky rice. Much rather would've spend $8 on something else. The mango was tart/sour. The sticky rice was too wet and mushy. It was a pass for both of us. Service - our server was awesome. From greeting to end, he was the right amount of attentive and was super helpful with suggestions. Everyone from the food runner to the busser, they were all so nice. From getting us chili paste or to go containers, customer service was on point. Parking - love love that are a few parking spaces right out front. They're metered. But after 8pm it was free so perfect for us. Other than those spaces, there's a lot across the street if you want to risk it or also side streets parking too.
