We won't be back. This place took over Islands, and turned it into a total dump. It is not clean, the food is okay, but for the price it should be much better. They have a full bar and that is nice. The service is very nice, but a tad slow. But they need more staff. I have seen people being over served there and then they get in their car. All in all, it is not worth your time. read more

Went in on a Monday evening after driving in from Arizona. Place was only sporadically filled. We were seated immediately, but then it took about 7mins for someone to get to our table - enough for us to get a full order ready once they did come. If it was date night and drinks were brought immediately then that is fine. Drink and converse. But we had kids who had been in the car all day in tow and we needed to get some food before everyone (except me, I dont get hangry) blew up. I get it, beach vibes, no rush. But at least come by and greet us within 2mins? Service was nice and they came by at the right intervals. Food was decent - nothing to write home about. I would give one star, but they let a dog in and I got to pet him. That was the highlight of this filthy, dirty, gross place. We should have left as soon as we saw tables that were dirty, floors not even close to clean with gunk all over them and no one to seat us. It should not be selling food at all. It was terrible and they can't even get the grammar on the menu done right. This is a place to get plastered and then get in your car. That is all it is good for. They have a pool table which keeps having the balls stick and no one knows how to fix it--just too bad, play with less balls but keep paying. The bar is cute, but not clean. The prices for the junk they serve is too high. We had different burgers. Our buns were ever so stale, the salad was only okay. The fries were cold. Actually all of our food was cold. First time dining at Coco Beach Bar & Grill and I have no regrets. This place is great for watching a game... TV's Galore! There is no bad seat in the entire establishment since the TV's are all around. They have indoor seating and patio seating as well as High top bar seating. They also have Karaoke on some nights (call to confirm). Our group ordered a bunch of appetizers and they were all good. We ordered different flavor wings, shrimp, cheese dip, calamari, and buffalo cauliflower. As for the drinks, I highly recommend the jacks blackberry smash. Soooo good! The bartender recommended it and said it was the most popular on the menu.... So of course I had to try it! The entire staff and manager were very friendly and attentive and helpful. We had a large group and they were so accommodating to our party. Thank you! There's plenty of street (meter parking) and a parking lot (pay by QR code). This spot has become my new go-to lately, all thanks to the staff. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the atmosphere is kinda lacking. It's a straight-up no-frills sports bar, nothing more, nothing less. But the bartenders and crew make it awesome. They treat me and my guests like regulars every time -- fast drinks, good conversation, and a solid group of fun regulars. Been coming here to watch sporting events. Came here after it was Islands once - didn't have a good experience but since it's changed to a sports bar, been here more than a few times. Why .... Parking! Private lot. If you know that stretch of Washington, you know parking is a PIA. And when a place has a dedicated, lot, and free - that's a draw in itself. I've not eating anything bad or that I didn't finish (ignore some some of the older pics as they were taken back after this place was an Islands and before the transition to a sports bar. Service is friendly and good. During a few recent games, can't fault the staff for slow or hit or miss service as the place was packed and people can be boneheads. They didn't forget me so much as it just took abnormally long but that's on the kitchen and the bar. But they're busy AF too. Place isn't for everyone - but to watch games, it is for me. Amazing food and service--staff consistently go above and beyond. The atmosphere is laid-back and cool, with dim lighting and neon accents that give it a unique vibe. There's always something going on: karaoke nights, live music, and tons of sports games playing on massive TVs with shockingly loud and clear speakers. The food is reasonably priced, especially during happy hour. My personal personal favorite is the sweet chili wings--tender, perfectly juicy and packed with sweet, aromatic flavor. It exceeded all my expectations from the first visit. Since the new ownership took over, I've become a regular. Went to watch the early World Cup game today. You can see they had an amazing party for the great USA win the night before! Even with the staff working those crazy hours for the game they were friendly, drinks were great, food great and had fun even with the Swiss costing me my bet. There were four of us, and when we walked in, there was no one at the front to seat us. The bartender saw us standing there and didn't acknowledge us at all. After waiting about five minutes, we ended up seating ourselves. The bar area was busy, but the dining area was completely empty...not a single table occupied. Once we sat down, the bartender came over and said someone would be with us shortly. A waitress eventually took our drink order and swiped my credit card... and then completely disappeared. After waiting at least 15 minutes with no service and no follow-up, we decided to leave. It was clear this was not going to be a good dining experience. I assumed the restaurant would understand why we left and not charge my card but I later saw I was charged $31.65 for three non-alcoholic drinks we did not receive. To make it worse, they added a $5.79 tip for themselves. Charging a customer after they leave due to lack of service and tipping yourselves on top of that is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Update- The owner Obay contacted me shortly after this review and corrected the issue. I will be going back to eat and watch a game there soon. read more

I watched the Super Bowl at COCO Beach Bar & Grill after decades of going to Tony P's which closed last summer. I called initially to get information and was under the impression the cost was $30 per person to get in (It was $25 per person at Tony P's), but it was actually $30 per table. Mallory was very helpful in revising my reservation from two to three and our table was centrally located where I could watch from any view or angle. They had a raffle but the room was so loud and the DJ was equally loud so I couldn't hear the game, but people seemed to enjoy the DJ and Bad Bunny was excellent at halftime. Our waitress was very nice and we had the Brisket and Chicken Tenders with fries and Cole Slaw and the food was a marked improvement from previous orders. The place was pretty full with a good cross section of customers and while the game wasn't great, this is a great place to watch sports since they have a volume of cool televisions that take-up the entire wall. The pricing was fine enough and if you're a sports fan and like to lay pool, the environment is great, and not rowdy. The staffing is much better from the original ownership and the new owner walks the floor and is fully engaged in the operation. While I liked the original owners, the new one has a very specific plan with plenty of parking and it is really the only large sports bar with a pretty good menu. I live relatively close by and have given this place 3 or 4 shots since its opening, but have yet to have any sort of memorable experience. Their food menu was originally much more expansive, but has been pared down quite a bit in recent times. It's also not super affordable for what you get. The restaurant does not seem to get busy and is usually empty when I stop in. The bar itself is also not particularly comfortable. It has the energy of a generic hotel bar vs. any place I'd want to hang out or bring friends. I give them credit for trying as the exit of Islands was some big shoes to fill, but this place feels like a concept that has unfortunately fallen short in its current iteration. I hope they can turn it around as it's nice to have options in the neighborhood. read more

I went for superbowl Sunday and I asked the lady if there was an "entertainment fee" because I saw they has just taken down a sign saying something about that and she said that there wasn't and that we just had to spend $30 per person but low and behold at the end when I got the bill there was a $30 charge per person added on on top of the food we already bought. The patrons here are really friendly one of them even bought me a shot of Don Julio because how both found out we were neighbors in the same apartment complex.
