My favorite bar and the place I keep coming back to. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is always delicious, the drinks are great, the prices are reasonable, and the people have such incredible energy. They have pool tables, which my friends and I love playing, and one time we even came during a karaoke night, which was so much fun. I highly recommend this place!

I would give one star, but they let a dog in and I got to pet him. That was the highlight of this filthy, dirty, gross place. We should have left as soon as we saw tables that were dirty, floors not even close to clean with gunk all over them and no one to seat us. It should not be selling food at all. It was terrible and they can't even get the grammar on the menu done right. This is a place to get plastered and then get in your car. That is all it is good for. They have a pool table which keeps having the balls stick and no one knows how to fix it--just too bad, play with less balls but keep paying. The bar is cute, but not clean. The prices for the junk they serve is too high. We had different burgers. Our buns were ever so stale, the salad was only okay. The fries were cold. Actually all of our food was cold. The server was okay, but busy playing with guests. Their ice tea is good. I will never be back, ever. The dog is what kept me there.

First time dining at Coco Beach Bar & Grill and I have no regrets. This place is great for watching a game... TV's Galore! There is no bad seat in the entire establishment since the TV's are all around. They have indoor seating and patio seating as well as High top bar seating. They also have Karaoke on some nights (call to confirm). Our group ordered a bunch of appetizers and they were all good. We ordered different flavor wings, shrimp, cheese dip, calamari, and buffalo cauliflower. As for the drinks, I highly recommend the jacks blackberry smash. Soooo good! The bartender recommended it and said it was the most popular on the menu.... So of course I had to try it! The entire staff and manager were very friendly and attentive and helpful. We had a large group and they were so accommodating to our party. Thank you! There's plenty of street (meter parking) and a parking lot (pay by QR code). I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Been coming here to watch sporting events. Came here after it was Islands once - didn't have a good experience but since it's changed to a sports bar, been here more than a few times. Why .... Parking! Private lot. If you know that stretch of Washington, you know parking is a PIA. And when a place has a dedicated, lot, and free - that's a draw in itself. It's why lately, it's been my destination to watch games. Food is ok. See pics. Not gourmet but if you're expecting that level at a sports bar, there's a bridge I want to sell you. Happy Hour pricing is nice. I've not eating anything bad or that I didn't finish (ignore some some of the older pics as they were taken back after this place was an Islands and before the transition to a sports bar. Service is friendly and good. During a few recent games, can't fault the staff for slow or hit or miss service as the place was packed and people can be boneheads. They didn't forget me so much as it just took abnormally long but that's on the kitchen and the bar. But they're busy AF too. Place isn't for everyone - but to watch games, it is for me. There are two pool tables if that's your thing - my thing is the pours. Check out the pics of the pour of Bourbon. It's "Ran" size. Right up my alley.

Went to watch the early World Cup game today. You can see they had an amazing party for the great USA win the night before! Even with the staff working those crazy hours for the game they were friendly, drinks were great, food great and had fun even with the Swiss costing me my bet. Nami was a great server and recommend watching any game or just a drink here!

There were four of us, and when we walked in, there was no one at the front to seat us. The bartender saw us standing there and didn't acknowledge us at all. After waiting about five minutes, we ended up seating ourselves. The bar area was busy, but the dining area was completely empty...not a single table occupied. Once we sat down, the bartender came over and said someone would be with us shortly. A waitress eventually took our drink order and swiped my credit card... and then completely disappeared. After waiting at least 15 minutes with no service and no follow-up, we decided to leave. It was clear this was not going to be a good dining experience. I assumed the restaurant would understand why we left and not charge my card but I later saw I was charged $31.65 for three non-alcoholic drinks we did not receive. To make it worse, they added a $5.79 tip for themselves. Charging a customer after they leave due to lack of service and tipping yourselves on top of that is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Update- The owner Obay contacted me shortly after this review and corrected the issue. I will be going back to eat and watch a game there soon.

Amazing food and service--staff consistently go above and beyond. The atmosphere is laid-back and cool, with dim lighting and neon accents that give it a unique vibe. There's always something going on: karaoke nights, live music, and tons of sports games playing on massive TVs with shockingly loud and clear speakers. The food is reasonably priced, especially during happy hour. My personal personal favorite is the sweet chili wings--tender, perfectly juicy and packed with sweet, aromatic flavor. It exceeded all my expectations from the first visit. Since the new ownership took over, I've become a regular. The owner is incredibly welcoming, knows everyone by name, and always greets me like an old friend. Shout out to Obay, Issac, and Emily for the hospitality!!!

What time are they close all days?

This is hearsay but a previous bartender with Islands said there is some serious problem with the foundation and that's why they haven't opened.

    When does this spot open?

Opening day was July 20. Haven't tried it out yet. Soon. I live within walking distance!.

I also needed dinner so decided to go with a smashburger and fries, which was nothing special but was still devoured given my hunger level. Had to fork over steep Westside prices for a small meal that didn't fill me up and one drink. We left after the races were under way. I felt bad for the turtles with so many drunk kids hovering over them and all the lights and absurdly loud speakers. On any other night, it would be a cool place to sip a brew with the ocean breeze in your hair and toss some cornhole bags around with pals. One more note: parking can be scarce being on a busy street. Make sure to check street signage. I got lucky and snagged a close spot but others may have to walk a bit.

When we arrived, the entrance was constantly blocked by the hostess and security chatting. One staff member told me to head to the bar to order, but security then acted like I was doing something wrong. A little communication between staff would go a long way. At the bar, I was skipped twice while waiting to order. When I pointed it out, the bartender told me to "hold on" while assisting a 3rd walk up after me. I asked if we could move to an open table with table service as there were many empty for ghe hour we had already been there and was told no because they were too busy. Fair enough, but that's exactly when management should be visible, coordinating staff and helping guests. Instead, when I spoke with a manager, the response was essentially that he was focused on the bar area. Good management oversees the entire operation, especially during peak periods. I was one of 5 people in our party who spent around $100 on food and drinks (apx $500 spent in total), yet the service was a mess. If it's self-service, that's fine...but make it clear and make it work. Instead, I was skipped at the bar while ordering, staff gave conflicting directions, and there was virtually no support once we had our food. We found ourselves constantly going back and forth to the bar for drinks, utensils, soy sauce, and anything else we needed. No one checked in, and getting help from staff or management was nearly impossible. The food was decent, but the customer experience wasn't. Venice Beach is always busy. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If you're going to market yourself as part of that vibrant community, you need the operational standards to match.

The restaurant was more busy than usual with soccer on, but there were several sizable tables open outside. We told the hostess we had a group of 5, and she said they couldn't seat us. We asked if we could put our names on a list and she said they don't do lists. We asked if there was an estimated timeline on a table, and she said no. So I asked if she was turning us away and she said they couldn't serve us. We walked maybe 12-15 feet down the sidewalk to clear the entrance a little confused, and tried to regroup on dinner. I then watched the same hostess seat 3 groups of 2 and a group of 6. They all got there and approached the table after us, and the restaurant does not take reservations. So I decided to walk back and ask the hostess why we weren't able to be seated. She started mumbling about the tables not being big enough. The group of 6 they sat was a group of 8 eventually and they scooted tables together for them - our group could fit at a four top. We mentioned that. She told us she had to "get special permission" from her manager to seat them, and I asked why we couldn't have been accommodated similarly. She got flustered when we asked if we could scoot tables together or just sit at a 4 top. We had driven 45 minutes to eat there, and there was plenty of space. She acted like we were asking for too much, and told us she couldn't help us the first time because we "walked away," even though we were dismissed and we were still right in front of her. She did not apologize. She was super weird and unaccommodating until a male in our group walked up to ask the same questions. Then we were seated. The restaurant was short staffed, which we did not mind. Watching the sunset is a great distraction. Plus our waitress (red hair - did not catch her name) was absolutely fantastic. There were multiple items that did not make it to our table, but the staff quickly removed them from the bill.

First off, this place is WAY bigger than it looks from the outside. If you're a beer lover, you'll be obsessed with the self-pour concept. They give you a wristband that you scan at the taps, pour as much or as little as you want, and it automatically tracks everything on your tab. Super easy and honestly pretty fun. I was also shocked by their happy hour, which runs until 7 PM. On the Westside, that feels almost unheard of these days. I heard they used to have a larger sushi menu, but even so, the carpaccio and sashimi were legitimately 10/10. And I'm saying that as someone who's extremely picky about sushi--like omakase-level picky. I was genuinely impressed. Food-wise, everything we ordered was GASSSS. The carnitas nachos, fried chicken, spicy miso ramen, and wings all hit. No notes. The host, Ka, was incredibly sweet and welcoming. One thing I'd recommend: if it's game night, order your food a little early. The place was absolutely packed for the Knicks game, so food took a bit longer to come out, but it was worth the wait. This is definitely going into my regular rotation. Great for catching games, grabbing drinks with girlfriends, meeting up with friends, bringing a date, or even flying solo.
