We booked with her because our regular groomer wasn't available, and she was conveniently close by with great reviews. She was very kind and gentle, and our dog seemed comfortable with her during the appointment, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the haircut on our cockapoo turned out looking butchered and didn't really have much shape or style. It wasn't the fluffy look we usually go for. For now, we're just waiting for our dog's hair to grow back so we can take her back to our regular groomer and get that fluffy style we love again. Received a business card during a street festival. Decided to log on the website and check it out to support local businesses. Created an account chose the service for our dog scheduled online and put my deposit. I got an email confirmation about my appointment being accepted. My appointment was scheduled for 1030 which is the time that they open. I went to the location which is a 20 min drive . Got there at 10:20. No one was there . Figure 1030 is when they open. I waited still no one showed. I called the number couple times. No one answered. I left a message. I then waited till 1045. Still no one answered. No one showed. Left a message I was leaving and to refund me back my deposit . Received a text 1pm. Asking if I can come at 1:40 or any other time that day . I replied no and then decided to call her. At no point did she apologize for no one being there at my schedule time appointment or any kind of empathy for missing the appointment or inconvenience. She simply wanted to know when I can come in. I just asked her to refund me back my deposit and we would call it a day. She agreed. That was two weeks ago. I have followed up with her twice already and still have not received my refund. It is only $25 so at this point I'm taking the loss of $25 which is not a big deal but the whole point is if you're running a small business, I would think that you should be a little bit more professional with other people's time as well. It's a shame to think that $25 is what she gained when if it was all would've went well we groom our dog once a month which is about 100 bucks so you can do the math. All it would have took was I'm sorry for the mishap but let's reschedule and I'll take care of your dog . Maybe offer a discount or a free service add on anything . read more

Made an appt online, paid the deposit, completed all forms for our 11/29 appt. Upon arrival to the Castro Valley location, it appeared to be closed. Rang the ring camera, called the phone number that goes to a digital assistant, waited 15min, sent an email and have not received a response or apology for the inconvenience. If you'd like to do make a donation to a business that does not take ownership of a missed appointment this is the place! I received a link a few hours after the scheduled visit that never happened to leave a review which was impressive and laughable. Not sure it was worth the $21 deposit or waste of my time for the laugh. Gina was amazing with my very hairy husky. You can definitely tell when a person loves what they do. Gina's compassion for animals is amazing. My husky mix had fleas and hot spots and was shedding enough to make a dozen more dogs. Gina really got her looking great and smelling wonderful. Very nice big space. I had an appt and was on time and no one was there...and waited for 30 min. hoping someone would come perhaps they were late. I called numerous times and left messages and til this day, no one has returned my call. No one showed up and I looked in the window of the place and it was totally dark and I really didn't like what I saw. The place seemed unclean, and disorganized. I saw one table with a cloth on it what seemed to be a place where the dog is groomed. There were kennel/cages piled on top of each other. I started going to this groomer after my own local groomer hiked up prices way way way up. Inflation am I right? I began going as they started to transition ownership, I had found this place when it was still called "Covey's." I love this groomer. I have been going consistently for months to get my 65 pound Akita and 25 pound pug mix bathed and groomed. They don't seem stressed out when they go and they're in one piece when I pick them up which is really all I care about. Prices are reasonable. Seems to be family-owned. I'm always seeing kids in the store which I love as they give my dogs lots of attention and when my son comes with me he likes to say hello. They even put on bandannas for my dogs which I used to do but I suppose I don't need to make any more trips to JoAnn! Thank you Gina! read more

Went here after doing a quick Google search in my area for dog groomers. I recently adopted a frenchie and her nails needed cutting. I was nervous about bringing her in because she still gets really nervous around new people and places. I was pleasantly surprised by Gina's place. It's a small family owned shop with limited parking on a busier street. I walked in without an appointment, I waited a short time while Gina finished up with another dog. Gina was great, she immediately soothed my fur baby, and even though I was there for a nail trim, she did a thorough check of her and discovered that her ears needed cleaning, she not only showed me how to clean them but gave me so many good recommendations for how to care for her and things I should buy on Amazon to keep her ears clean and help her with her dry skin. She recommended I change her food to grain free and gave me good info on frenchies and things they are prone too. She even gave me some samples she had on hand and a coupon for Mike's feed. By the time she got to the nail trim ($10) my dog didn't even notice because she was so comfortable with her. Gina is super knowledgeable and friendly and we will definitely be visiting again!
