I walked in to Gina's yesterday about 6pm with no appointment but desperately hoping they could get me in. Another local nail salon had done a full set on me the day before and the work was sloppy and did not look nice...with my 20 year reunion and a dance recital coming up, I was hopeful Gina's did quality work and could fix my nails. My expectations were FAR exceeded! They ended up having to take my nails off and redo a full set. Jenny was extremely gentle when removing the acrylics and putting new tips on, I was worried it would be painful or traumatic to my nails but not at all. Next Sean prepped my nails by cutting/shaping, and again he was gentle but detailed and gave me the exact shape and length I wanted. They also suggested I do almond shape vs. coffin and it looks so much better on my hands. Finally, Gina did my acrylic and paint job. My nails are absolutely flawless!!! Perfectly shaped, perfectly smooth, no glue or excess acrylic left around my cuticles. She suggested I do French with the pink vs the whole nail and I LOVE it! I'm so thankful they were able to save me from the crappy nails! Haha. Also every staff member I interacted with was nice and friendly, the vibe there was just positive which is important to me. They turned out pretty good. They weren't thick nor oddly shaped. They have lots of colors and designs to choose from. I will be trying out a pedicure next time, the massage chairs seemed neat. Sean took his time on my nails and made sure everything was even and explained all my options for French tips which was very helpful since it was my first time getting them! They did a sea salt scrub and hot stone massage with the pedicure and it was so relaxing. They really take their time and make their services last and make it a whole experience. I had a mani shellack and pedicure and I was satisfied. Gina was friendly and she actually did my nails. Her staff is ok, language barrier as usual. One thing that stood out is that they do not use the plastic inserts in their foot spa tubs. I asked them about it and the workers shrugged it off. Stopped at my usual place in Fife before coming up to Kent (Nail Arts, great salon!) and there was a 45 min wait which is why I ended up at Ginas. There were 4 staff there, 2 reclining on the sofa and another one hanging out in the back. The older woman who did my nails was on her cell phone. Motioned for me to sit down, but did not get off her phone. I said I wanted a shellac manicure so she handed me the wheel of colors, but still did not hang up the phone. She did not ask me if I wanted my nails cut down, what shape I wanted, etc, because she was clearly on a very important phone call and the other staff members were busy reclining. Told her I changed my mind and just wanted a clear manicure. She then spoke to me for the first time and said "Why?" In any case, I will not be back. I decided to pop into Gina's nail salon after work one evening in preparation for a big event I had going on that weekend. I forewent my usual nail salon due to rush hour traffic and decided to check out Gina's for the convenience of it being down the street from my neighborhood. Anyway, I just wanted a simple soft white in shellac with a bit of shimmer to it. Perhaps it was because the lady spoke almost no English whatsoever that contributed to the experience, but what I wanted and what I received were two completely different things. She chose the whitest white that they had in stock and proceeded to paint my nails. I couldn't help but notice it looked like she was painting my nails with white-out. The first layer went on very thin and streaky, and after I pulled them out from underneath the lamp, she wanted to already apply the shimmery layer on top. So I asked her to at least apply one more coat of white, which she did. After she finished, I looked at my nails and realized that it was just hopeless. The nail polish was uneven and sloppy.
