Got this pizza without reading anything about it, just knew that it would deliver to Balboa Pen where I was staying. And I got to say, I am shocked it isn't more stars, I thought it was fantastic. My mom and I both actually said within two bites that this pizza was reeeeally good. About an hour I think for delivery during the week, possibly a tad long but worth it in my opinion. Great food, horrible online experience. I decided to order online and the overall it was pretty easy (I'm 34 and computer savy), until i got to the coupon code. No where on the coupon sent to me was a code and no where online is a coupon with a code... decided to call the store directly and ask. The woman who answered said she "had no idea, hold on".. after waiting for a minute (which seemed like an eternity), another guy got on the phone and tried to blame it on the website, and had no idea either. So i cancelled the online order and just ordered over the phone. After giving the guy my CC number i asked if he applied the coupon to the total, which he replied, " well, i wish you would have told me you had a coupon!" I about lost it on him at this point (I've now been trying to order a pizza for about 20min)... I guess the moral to the story is that it's still faster to call and order and don't assume people are paying attention. It's a bit pricy here but the pizza was good the crust was perfect crunchy on the outside soft on the inside I got a small sausage pizza the only complaint I have is there was little to no sausage on my pizza it was just crumbles . I was really disappointed because everything else was good . I also got an appetizer the "Chicken Parmesan strips" they were good I wish the portion was a little bigger . Ordered a pepperoni pizza to go. Ate it within minutes of the pie coming out of the oven. The flavor of pizza was very lacking. Honestly reminded me of cafeteria pizza. Barely a step above a cafeteria pizza. Aside from a bland flavor the texture was fine. The crust was crispy and the dough was good. Service and time to receive food wasn't bad at all. I'm just disappointed because this wasn't better than a Dominos or Pizza Hut. For the price the food definitely wasn't worth it. read more

Stopped here for a quick slice of pizza for lunch. Ended up getting the #1 special which was a slice + drink for about $7. The slice was heated up and had a crispy crust - pretty good piece of pie. Maybe it was an off day (Sunday afternoon) for this Gina's location, but the pizza I had here was blaaaaaah. Apparently I just paid $16 for cardboard masquerading as a pizza topped with "cheese" and "tasty pepperoni". Quite the bamboozling if you ask me. I could have done better with a frozen pizza from my elementary school cafeteria and spent less money than that bland pizza I had yesterday. The thin crust is perfect. Can't think of any other word for it. Lots of cheese and fair (but not excessive) quantity of toppings. The sauce was a bit disappointing - tomato-ey and a little sweet but not much other flavor. Just had to write this review to warn others. I ordered the "baked" ziti with spinach. After waiting about 20 minutes, my dish comes out"hot" and the employee tells me to be careful not to burn myself. I cut a piece with my fork and to my surprise, the pasta was cold as ice. I mean, I can taste the freezer burn and everything. It was such a disgusting experience I couldn't even get the courage to eat it even if they offered to re heat it. This is my local Gina's pizza location and happens to be my favorite now after the great service I received this past Saturday night. We ordered a small pizza with half BBQ Chicken and half Maui Momma. Our pizza was taking a little longer than expected and our server, Christine offered us a complimentary salad while we were waiting. The pizza is good. The service has always made me feel awkward. Maybe I'm just awkward but I feel like they want me to tip them (take out or delivery) so bad that it's an imposition on them if I don't. The last straw was when I went in there for take out. They didn't make my pizza right and instead of offering to make it right they offered to give me a topping on the side and a free pizza on them the next time I ordered because it was close to closing time. A generous offer, however I am done with feeling like I am imposing on employees who express an attitude of entitlement. Call me old fashion, but I prefer more traditional customer service. My husband and I needed to have a quick lunch today so we stopped in for the lunch special. Pizza, Salad & a Drink for $7.95. Not too bad. The pizza is really thick and the slices are pretty big. The crust is different from many of the other pizzas I've tried, but very good. The owner is very friendly. We had good service. read more

Pizza takes FOREVER to arrive. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and it wasn't as good as the one from CPK. Sauce was on the sweet side and the edge of the crust was burnt. However, if you are absolutely starving for pizza, this place does the job.. but you'd have to get pretty desperate. Also, the tables were dirty and not well cleaned/maintained. I was a loyal Ginas customer until this weekend when I chomped down on a piece of GLASS. I was eating a pepperoni pizza and as I was chewing there was a loud crunch and I felt something hard. I knew my tooth hadn't broken because it was harder than that. I spit it out and there was a chunk of GLASS IN MY PIZZA! How does that even happen?!? I now have to get a crown on my tooth because it cracked. No pizza is worth a $750 crown. Not a huge Yelper but this seemed worthy of a share. read more

I have been a long time Gina's customer. A little over 8 years. And while they are slightly over priced you get what you pay for. The quality of the food is excellent, which is why I continued to go there. However, I just called there to order delivery. It was 9:02 by the time I talked to someone to order. Unfortunately, they told me that I could not have delivery because the delivery cut off time is 9:00 pm. I said you must be joking. It's 9:02. She still refused. I then asked to talk to the manager hoping that he would realize the importance of customer service. I explained that I am a long time customer and that I could understand if I was calling at say 9:15 or later, but it is 9:02. He said that is why they have a cut off time and that he would not deliver my order. I then told him that we are at an in-pas. Gina's policy is not to deliver after 9:00 pm. I then explained to him that I would exercise my right as a customer and because of his inflexibility they lost a long time customer and that I would never eat there again in my life. If I am willing to spend my money at an establishment regularly they should do what they can to retain me as a customer. Call me old fashioned, but I still believe that when you run a customer service related business that you do everything you can to provide the best customer service that you can. Unfortunately Gina's does not have the same philosophy. For Gina's they will not be able to ever try to provide me with any customer service again. Completely disappointed customer. read more

Love Gina's Pizza. Rasta Pasta with cilantro dressing is my fav. I also love the veggie sandwich (the Linda version is better than the roasted veggie). The baked spinach ziti is delicious. Gina's was a frequent restaurant for me in college. I've been to the location in Irvine near UCI many times for sorority events and fundraisers. Very cool staff, good beers and of course excellent pizza. The location on the peninsula in Newport was where I had a big going away party for myself and we loved their outdoor patio for that. Perfect for a summer night. The location in Costa Mesa is equally as good in terms of food, of course, but location isn't exceptional. They have a few tables outside on their patio but about 85% of the seating is inside which isn't that great or exciting. Friendly staff and fast service nonetheless. read more

So the owner has no customer service skills but the staff seems to know how to talk and take care of the customer. The owner will not communicate with his staff on making a pizza, if it's not in his little system he can't or plan will not do it. Can you do me a favor and leave a quater of the pizza plan (kid only wants sausage with nor all the veggies ) and he said he can't do that because it's not in his system and I asked you can't communicate with your staff that's 3 feet from you ? There are so many more places that are happy to take my money including Firehouse Subs right next door. Some owners Just will never get it and wonder why their business is slow. We have had bad delivery service before but gave that location another go nonetheless. First of all I really do think your food is incredibly poor, especially for the over inflated price and despise having to pay a "delivery" charge. Secondly, every order we have placed has been incorrect and that is obviously symptomatic of the laziness that your staff display and likely the cause of my third complaint, violent vomiting. Yes, food poisoning; which has wonderfully decorated my bathroom whilst my misses lays stricken and likely missing a day of work. My advice, don't eat here ever. Came here for lunch for the first time yesterday. And it was really good! The staff was friendly and the place was clean. I had a pepperoni and sausage piccolo 9" pizza, which was really good but a little pricey tho. I couldn't finish it. I should have had the lunch special. My coworker had the bbq chicken piccolo pizza which she liked as well. My other coworker had the roasted tomato soup and ordered the fried ricotta balls. The fried ricotta balls were delicious!
