The ambiance was one of the first things we noticed--it has a clean, open dining area with a covered patio, plenty of seating, and a relaxed, casual vibe that made it a great place to enjoy lunch. I ordered the BiggaSlice Classic Pepperoni, and the slice definitely lived up to its name. It was huge, loaded with pepperoni, and had a crispy crust with plenty of cheese. My boyfriend ordered the Messina Fire Chicken, and it was packed with flavor with just the right amount of heat. We enjoyed our meal with a couple of Vitaminwaters, and everything came together perfectly. The owner was incredibly welcoming and took the time to chat with us. Before we left, he recommended that we come back and try their lasagna, which definitely has us looking forward to our next visit. Overall, everything was fresh, filling, and delicious. I don't know how this place does not have 5 stars. Honestly the best pizza and best experience here. We got the veggie pizza size small and a pastrami sandwich. I ordered online and it was ready in 30 minutes. It was so hot and smelled delicious. The veggie pizza had a generous amount of veggies on it and the dough was so soft. Went after the kid spent a day at the beach. I was starving and saw Gina's while walking around the neighborhood. I checked the yelp review and felt it was worth a visit. We went in around 7:20pm on a Friday night and were quickly seated. Good thing because 20 minutes later there was a line and no seats. Since the door was open, I was cold and asked my son to get a jacket from the car for me. They noticed my ask and turned the heater on for me above my seat. That was very nice and accommodating. The service was really good and they were all very helpful. Anyway, ordered some wings, lasagna and a medium pizza. The wings and lasagna came out pretty quickly and the pizza took about an additional 10 minutes. We enjoyed the wings a lot. We didn't eat too much lasagna because we wanted to wait for the pizza. When the pizza came, we each had a slice and were full from there. The medium pizza was bigger than expected and was pretty tasty. We ended up eating the lasagna and pizza the next day and they both tasted even better then. My son said the pizza reminded him of pizza we had in Chicago. I noticed others adding arugula on top of their pizza. Wish I'd tried that. Next time. I'd give them a 4.5 but since I can't do that, I'll round up to a 5. read more

If you like bland pizza that tastes like bread I would recommend this place. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and paid $9 and was supposed to get 62 cents change back and the overweight approximately 50 year old male working the register said "you're good". I would tip if my food is good. In this case it wasn't and I regret even giving up a 62 cent tip as the cashier did not give me back my change. I prefer a pizza with flavor. This pizza has a thick crust that tastes like bland dough with a hint of pepperoni and cheese. Don't let the smell fool you. I kept taking bites trying to figure out why something that smells so good tastes so bland. The pizza is a 3.5 outa 10. You can get better pizza at Costco. read more

I tried the cheese-pizza and the pepperoni pizza and both of them were good. I didn't have anything to do with ordering the pizza, so I don't have any comments about the cost or service. Pizza is probably the most subjective food there is to review between all the different styles/types. Gina's makes a good pizza. The sauce is not sweet like a lot of the commercial places. Toppings are under the cheese instead of on top. They have a nice crust. If you're looking for some indoor seating, they have a very small seating area with table service. It's really more of a covered patio than dining room. If it's chilly outside, they have one heater hanging from the ceiling. The one thing I noticed was they do a heck of a takeout business, so there's a lot of people that stop here to get a pizza. They've been in business since 1975. The food is good (especially the meatball sandwich), but this place is a dump. Thirty years ago I lived two blocks from here and ate here all the time. I'm 99% certain that they've not updated it since then. The inside looks like they just gave up. It's dank, and hot, and the windows don't open, the tables don't line up height-wise (which makes it annoying to put two tables together for a party of four), and the floors are gross and actually have a slope to them. The inside is what you'd expect from a low budget restaurant in a college town that caters to college kids on a tight budget. Oddly for a beach community restaurant: no outdoor seating (though there's room for it). Stated another way: Get your food "to go". read more

I don't think the special is that great of a deal, especially since neither pizza comes with any toppings. It's either 69 cents or a dollar per topping, depending on pizza size. The interior of the restaurant is cute and has several seating options. The tables were a little dirty and I'd recommend the restaurant to keep an eye on that. Both pizzas that we got were good. We got one BiggaSlice and one regular Pizza Slice, both with individual toppings. I enjoyed the eggplant, broccoli, and Italian sausage on my regular slice. My partner got pepperoni and bacon bites. I KNOW THIS IS LONG! But it's worth the read! Sometimes the experience at a restaurant isn't always about the food! Yes! It's important to get good food for your hard earned money! But sometimes it's the employees that TRULY makes a BIG difference! I had a late work day. I'm single and didn't feel like cooking because I was tired. I called a single friend of mine and he joined me for dinner. It is Taco Tuesday! But I wasn't in the mood for Mexican food. It seems like I had eaten it too many times this past week. I was REALLY having a craving for Italian food! Spaghetti in particular! I told my buddy, and he suggested Gina's Pizza and Pasta in Corona del Mar! So off we went! When we got there, it looked like they were closing the dining room. (Chairs on the tables) Ugh! We didn't feel like getting it To-Go! Well... That's where "THE" employee comes in... DAVE TODD was nice enough to let us sit and eat! He was beyond kind and truly made us feel like it was no problem! AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Dave is a SUPER nice guy! You really do feel like family here! No kidding! Oh yeah... AND... The spaghetti was off the charts! It was DELICIOUS! Pink sauce, sausage, and garlic toast! Yum!
