So my family came down for my son's graduation from college. Came across Garduno's. This is a little very homey place. Julie, our server, was amazing. We told her we had not been there before so she was so kind to explain everything. She told us specials and made some suggestions. Now onto the food. I started with a salad and the rest of the family had minestrone soup. I had pollo lemone with pasta covered in the same sauce. My stepson had the same. My mom had lobster ravioli. Mine was absolutely delicious. At the end, we decided to have a piece of pineapple cake. Please stop by if you are ever in town. You will not regret it. Amazing food, great ambiance and the best staff out there!

I came here yesterday with a couple of friends for lunch. I chose this place because of its proximity to Sidecar Doughnuts. Our plan was to indulge in doughnuts and coffee after lunch. We were pleasantly greeted inside by Mark the owner. After a little small talk about the LA Dodgers which was inspired by my friend Mike's La Dodger t shirt. Mark lead us to a table and gave us a little history about his restaurant and went over the menu. His lovely wife came over to greet us and take our drink order first then returned to proceed taking our orders. My friend Mike ordered the Rosa sauce with Fusilli pasta and chicken. While Bang ordered the Rosa sauce with Fusilli pasta and sausage. I ordered the veal with the lemon, butter and caper sauce. Along with a side order of garlic bread. I enjoyed my entree and tried theirs. Overall I enjoyed all the food. They were a little nick picky about their pasta even though they said it was good it wasn't as good as another italian place Nick's in Costa Mesa which closed down. Mark surprised us in the end by providing a free slice of their pineapple cake. Boy was it was delicious. It had pineapple, coconut, orange, and tasted similar to pineapple upsidedown cake. This was the highlight of the meal. The restaurant is medium size with some ambiance. There is some outside seating. Overall the food and service was excellent and i would return and recommend. We didn't end up going to Sidecar Doughnuts because we were completely satisfied at lunch.

Simply Beautiful and Delicious. Thank you Julie the owner here and chef for making such a Fantastic lunch today. I really had a great time learning about the history of Garduno's Italian restaurant open since 1988. With so much love and care in every flavorful bite you can taste the freshness and perfectly seasoned pasta sauce. I chose the Frutti de Mare to highlight the Delicious salmon and seafood in every bite. The eggplant sandwich was equally as good today. Finally the pineapple cake was astounding. Great cappuccino to go with the cake. Enjoy the beautiful sunshine of life today. We will definitely come back for more amazing Italian favorites on the weekend. Have a wonderful day.

I have wanted to try Garduno's for years! I have driven by this spot so many times and I decided it was finally time. We were seated right away. Unfortunately we were stuck with the table right next to the door and it was a lil cold. We were greeted promptly by our server. He was warm and welcoming. He told us their specials which all sounded delish. We both decided to pick a pasta off the regular menu. What I like is that you can pick any noodle and you can add additional chicken/shrimp if you want. I got the alfredo and was in love. I usually get a bolognese, but I wanted a white sauce. The bf got a bolognese and he loved it. Had mushrooms which he liked. My alfredo had tons of chicken which was great. Both of our pasta dishes came with either a salad or a soup. It's just a simple salad but so bomb!!!! The dressing was great. I only remove a star because the table was really close to the table behind us so it was a tight squeeze and also we were right next to the door so it was cold. The food also takes quite a bit to come out, and they didn't seem to be so busy. I heard one of their employees complain it was super busy. It really wasn't. Lol. Parking is ample. I would come back again.

La cucina della Nonna e del Nonno? Delicious and we will be back for more home cooking from scratch! Ciao!

I got a $50 gift certificate from a friend and used it last week! I have NEVER been so disappointed! I ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer. Fussilli with Alfredo sauce and I added Chicken and Shrimp to it! $3.50 more for a couple of pieces of Chicken and $9.50 for 4 Shrimp and the Shrimp still had the tails on! REALLY???? The Alfredo sauce had no flavor at all, didn't taste ANY Parmesan in it! It was HORRIBLE! And for the price, $20.95, $3.50 plus $9.50 for the added meat. $33.00 for a AWEFUL meal! The Lasagna was ok, however , I have had MUCH better! The Calamari was soggy and had no flavor, either! Our overall meal was $80.00, RIDICULOUS! Had we eaten it there, I would have sent it ALL BACK, but I picked it up! I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! The free side salad was the best part of the dinner! Oh, and small portions also!!!!!!! Save your money!

I got the Vongole( in angel hair pasta)to go! It was delish. The server was super sweet & friendly. I will be back soon :)

Chicken lasagna! Layered chicken with mushrooms and artichoke hearts! Incredible!

Well, second time around was just as delicious as our first experience! Hats off to the chef, to the family that runs the restaurant and to the staff! We tried new dishes, the chicken mushroom lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs in the Rosa sauce. Both came with a choice of soup or salad with an incredible homemade dressing. We also ordered the garlic bread and a slice of pineapple cake which completed our meal. We really had too much food but it warmed up the following day for another great meal. The pasta is incredible! The sauces are flavorful and plentiful. I enjoyed sopping up the sauce with the bread that was added for each meal. Also, if you order take out for a large group, you can bring in your own dishes and they will make meals in your own baking dishes.so cool! If you don't feel like cooking, grab some take out from Garduno's!!!

We got the special lobster ravioli, linguine with clam sauce, and angel hair with basil and tomato.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes, Garduno's takes reservations!

Does garduno's have a wine corkage policy?

I believe they do. This was many years ago, but I do recall someone bringing in their own bottle, and they paid a corkage fee.

I booked reservations through Open Table which was fairly easy, but finding parking in order to make the reservation was SUCH a challenge. The area was so compact and hard to navigate through. Nevertheless, the restaurant was gorgeous. Our server however, was a bit short and left us waiting quite a few times to the point to where we had to ask other servers to assist us. Nothing major but we sat without things like utensils, napkins, etc. We'd also ordered a few drinks and waited a while for those to come as well. Our order was also wrong when brought out, but we didn't make a fuss. Also the restrooms were super small and crowded as well as SUPER humid. There were also these weird pictures of men sitting on the toilets which was pretty disturbing to be in a women's restroom. Idk it was pretty distasteful especially considering this is supposed to be a nicer restaurant. It was a nice spot for aesthetic IG pics. Overall I don't think I'll be coming back, but it was a cool spot to try I guess.

He loved the focaccia so much that he said he'll be coming back just to order it plain to go! I enjoyed my Giuseppe Pizza, Sardinia Sunrise, and lemonade. As a bit of a lemonade aficionado, I have to say the lemonade here is good, not that subpar Minute Maid stuff. Everything was delicious, and we'll definitely be back!

The extraordinary thing about the Pasta Sisters is that they offer house made pastas, which guarantees a higher price point, but offers unparalleled texture. The spaghetti has a "bite" that you get from a true "al dente" pasta. Their cheese tortellini were incredibly rich and cheesy, but a touch salty. The drawback of this location is that it's a ghost kitchen. You order it online and the order will be ready for you when you come in to pick it up. The location does not have seating, and you eat it at your own convenience. If you live/work locally, then this can be definitely worth checking out. Because I live out of town, I have to enjoy it either in my car, after a long drive home, or at my wife's office; however, I want to enjoy these $20 pastas in a restaurant, with wine and good company. A ghost kitchen is very different than a restaurant experience. I hope they do choose to bring their restaurant to the OC one day.

This is truly a neighborhood spot wedged in between a Wax Salon and a Laundromat…read more You can remove your slacks and have a wax then eat hearty food that's hard to beat and finally launder your Marinara'ed Versace Raw Silk shirt, not that this is a place to wear such a thing. Think of this as a full service night out. Caveat: I got caught in the OC Fair traffic which wasn't fair at all. Once I Wazed to the parking lot I walked in and a Staffer measured my level of angst and suggested I take deep breaths while he lead me to my table in a small cozy dining room. The Decor: An enlarged map of the Autostrada where you can go really fast while dining really slow. Thankfully, there was no blaring loop of Dean Martin telling you what happens when the Moon hits your eye like a big Pizza Pie. Water and wine are offered as soon as you've made your nest. Settle in as the frenetic rush remains outside. You're on Italian time here. This family owned place emphasizes enjoying a leisurely lovely meal of dishes you'll recognize. Filomena's is an O. G. style Red Checkered Table Cloth restaurant with no table cloths. Why should the owners pay for endless laundry even if it is next door. So, when you splash Sunday Gravy (Marinara with meat and plenty of meat drippings) that will never come out of your fancy scoop neck blouse no matter what you try and how much you cry. So, come as casual as you can without being indecent. Who're dining with you? Regulars and those who haven't been regular in years. The Staff: Efficient. My guy took my table's order before going to handle the Girls Night Out party of 22 in the private dining room. "If we don't put your order in now the kitchen will get slammed and you'll wait half an hour for your appetizers and then write a crappy review". The Food: There is an ambitious menu here featuring all things an Italian family would enjoy. In fact, any family would enjoy the classics served here. The large menu offers the usual suspects. All the pasta is house made along with all the Sauces, albeit, most of the Sauces are laced with Cream. Go ahead, show your arteries who's really runnin' the show. The Calamari Fritti was a solid choice. A good sized pile of hands, feet and rings served with Lemon Wedges for the purists and a cup of slightly spicy thick Marinara. The Calamari kept is crackling crispy crunch from the first tubular slice to the last tentacle that reached out. Often Calamari Fritti is good for two bites before it turns into a soggy sponge. Not here as the fry cook knows how to make this just right every night. The added plus is that the portions are heroic and suitable for any Roman Centurion. The Pappardelle with Bolognese consisted of long wide nicely cooked flat noodles with a serious pour of meaty Ragu over the whole works. If you're a giver, there is enough to share with two others. The Wedding Soup came in a bowl you could bathe a German Shepherd in. It began with Carrots, Celery and Onions, floating in a Consomme along with a handful of small light Meat Balls. Forget the wedding night, and just order a second bowl of Soup. The Garlic Bread that came with the Soup was nothing to write home or you about, for that matter. The Bread is outsourced and best for mopping anything you've eaten before the busser shows up to collect the plates. The Linguini Vongole featured Manila Clams in the shell and lots of Clam bits. The Linguini was perfectly cooked and stood up well to the the pleasant Clam chew. This version is what Clam Pasta can be and most often falls short of the mark. The Chicken Parmesan was a Breast pounded thin, breaded, fried and then buried under a chunky Maranara Sauce with a layer of melted Mozz as thick as your favorite flannel shirt. The whole thing was the size of a hub cap. At Filomena's you'll eat like battalions of Italians. I'll be back and I Filomean it.
