Wow! An incredibly authentic experience with a perfectly flavored meal consisting of Lamb Biryani, vegetable samosas and tandoori naan bread. The portions were very generous, the price was reasonable and the customer service was unmatched. I highly recommend. I approve, Chief

My friend and I had lunch here the other day. I've been wanting to try it, as I read some good reviews. I ordered the Punjabi Saagwala curry with chicken. It had leafy greens and onions. I ordered it medium spicy, which was delicious. The chicken was so tender. My friend ordered the Vindaloo curry, also with chicken. It had potatoes. I had a taste and it was also delicious. Both came with white rice. It was a small portion and not enough to go with my leftovers. Our waiter was the only one that took care of several tables. We did meet the owner, who asked if we enjoyed our food. We found the dining room to be very warm. When I went to the restroom, there was a noticeable difference - much cooler there and near the bar area (nice bar!). Their prices are on the high side compared to other Indian restaurants I've been to. Some of the appetizers are on the pricy side. With the price for lunch ($15 plus $4 to add the chicken), we didn't want to order an appetizer. That would have turned into an expensive lunch. I did see their dinner Thali menu (served from 4pm to 10pm), which looks to be a much better deal than ordering a la carte. That may be the best option on a possible future visit.

Full disclosure...Indian Food is not my favorite cuisine. With that said, I have had many Indian meals that have been quite good, even excellent, which is saying a lot as I am admittedly quite picky. There were four of us and what struck us immediately was the atmosphere. Sadly, there is none. The walls are painted an odd shade of green, the tables are weirdly cut in half but can't be pulled apart, and most importantly, the lighting is more of what one would expect at a McDonald's. I'm not sure why so many restaurant owners don't realize lighting is probably the single most important element in establishing the mood and atmosphere of their restaurant, and is worth spending both time and money on. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We didn't realize they didn't have a liquor license, and in the big picture that didn't matter, except their drink choices were essentially smoothies and not much else. I ordered the mango lassi, my husband got the sweet lassi and our friends just ordered water, which is served in a lovely coppery pitcher and goblets. For apps we ordered the mango shrimp, which was by far the star of the evening. The sauce was amazing and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Our friends ordered the chicken samosa, which while a bit on the dry side, benefitted from the delicious tamarind sauce. For our mains I ordered the seafood talli and my husband got the mixed grill. Our friends wisely decided to share the mixed grill, as portion sizes are quite large. Since garlic nan is a favorite of mine, we ordered that as well, but sadly they were dry and overcooked, not fluffy as we've all come to expect. The lamb in the mixed grill was everyone's favorite part, but they all agreed the rest of the dish, particularly the chicken, was very dry. As for my dish, I ended up taking most of it home, and while I have no major complaints, in fairness I believe my lack of enthusiasm is connected more to my lukewarm attitude about Indian cuisine than any particular issues with the dishes preparation. I did ask for some tamarind sauce to take home and was charged $1 for what amounted to about 1 oz which I thought was a little petty, especially since my friend had asked and received extra sauce and wasn't charged. I would say if you're a big fan of Indian food and don't care about atmosphere, give them a try. They seem like good people and I'm sure will do well, but none of us will be rushing to go back.

Wow! So surprised to find an Indian restaurant close to my parents house! Just recently returned from New Delhi, India on business and wanted a taste for more Indian food. Well I found the spot while here in Wilmington. I ordered the Butter Chicken. Let me say that was some of the best food I've had even though I visited India. Anytime I'm in town I will be sure to stop by!!

    Everything!!

I LOVE trying out new restaurants in Wilmington! Today was one such lucky wonderful day- a girlfriend called who wanted to try this new restaurant that opened just a few days ago, Indian Flavors! I love Indian food, so I was beyond excited to try it. And boy was it a phenomenal experience! The entire team was so extremely friendly and so excited for us to be there. The restaurant is back in the corner of a strip mall of various stores and restaurants, so take the time and don't over look this one! When I arrived, my friend had already been seated and was chatting with the owner of the restaurant. He was enthusiastically telling us about the menu items and which were his favorites. Our waitress came over right away and got our drink orders. We ordered waters and sodas, and the owner insisted we also try the mango lassies, which were SO good!!! We decided to try the vegetable pakora (eat it with both sauces!), the Chicken Drums of Heaven (AMAZING!!!- they also wrap the drumstick ends with foil so you don't get insanely messy, and they're massive drumsticks!), and the lamb seekh kebab (massive portion on a huge sizzling skillet, super delicious!) for appetizers. For our entrees, my friend tried the goat vindaloo, which was pretty spicy- she loves spice, I'm a massive wimp, she loved it, I loved the flavors and then my mouth lit on fire. If you're a spice wimp like me, ask for a side of yogurt- it will save you!! I ordered the tandoori mixed grill which was another insane amount of food! I had told our amazing waitress (Riddhi) how much of a spice wimp I am so she had the kitchen make my entrée super not spicy, and it came out perfect! I also ordered garlic naan because.... Always garlic naan! It was really tasty and a great portion size. By this point we were beyond stuffed (I took 2 boxes of food home), and another amazing woman working at the restaurant told us we couldn't leave without trying the rice pudding...so we did. Super delicious as well! Overall, every single item was incredibly delicious! Everything comes with mint sauces, and I got yogurt as well to help with any level of spiciness. The owner told us that they try to aim for 7/10 spiciness in general, if you want really spicy, ask for 10/10, and I'm a -5/10 spiciness so make sure to ask for that if that's what you need. Absolutely recommend, I can't wait to go back and try more. Every other patron loved their meals too (we were totally eavesdropping), and another table was recommending other dishes to us as we were paying our bill at the counter. I'm so excited this restaurant is in Wilmington!!!!!! PS- next day update- I'm still full, and the leftovers taste absolutely delicious today too!

Best Indian food I've had in years. Excellent customer service too. I wish the mango lassie (dessert) serving was bigger, but I'm not hung up on that. My wife and I 1000% will be returning.

What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.

This was the 3rd time we've been here. The first two times we did not make it to the table because…read moreof the service. They generally do not care about the customer at all. The star of the show is definitely the food. The chef is super proud of his food, and he should be. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 on food instead of a 5 is because there was no iced tea (in the summer in the carolinas - not really forgivable) the water was nasty and the biscuits on my Benedict were towards the burnt side on the bottom. Honestly, everything otherwise was amazing. What was really great: The restaurant itself is AMAZING! It's like being transported to a Parisian cafe. I love that when you walk in, you immediately see the fully in view kitchen. I'm assuming a chef owns the restaurant and designed the layout. The patio is quaint and delightful and surprisingly private for a downtown sidewalk restaurant. The eggs on my Eggs Benedict could not have been more perfect. I'm not a fried potato person; however, the pan fried potatoes here are mostly whole and they are out of this world. They were exceedingly crispy on the outside and completely soft on the inside. My son ordered the dutch baby. It was delicious. The accompanied fruit was perfect and truly ripe. I feel like they would have to toss a lot of fruit to get the ones that were truly that perfect. What did not work: The water - it was about 85 degrees out and humid. There is nothing here refreshing. Water is served European style meaning no ice and out of the tap. Warm tap water on a hot day in South Carolina is just nasty. It's ironic that while Europeans visiting the US for the World Cup are posting social media reels raving about ice in drinks in the United States, meanwhile The Dram Yard is insisting on pulling all of the worst parts of eating out in Europe into their restaurant. I truly dislike restaurants that serve canned and bottled beverages. It screams, "nickel and dime". If you bought your cans of soda at Costco and charged $4.00 for a can, I'd have to drink 9 cans before you're losing money. There is literally no reason to limit beverages other than driving higher profits. I hate price gouging. At the very least get a fountain and serve iced tea. SERVICE - the service staff simply makes you feel like they're doing you a favor by being open. Don't expect anything after that. When we arrived, the restaurant was at about 25% capacity with 2 food servers, who also double as the hostess. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated (yes...even at 25% capacity), service truly went downhill from there. It wasn't that the staff was rude. They were just not present and extremely slow. It honestly seemed like they were doing everything they could to not be seen. We needed salt, a refill of the water carafe and our check. That was it. The staff would come to our part of the dining room but then not even glance around or come by to see if we needed anything. I'm giving them a 2 because they were exceedingly slow and not present. When we did chase them down, I felt rude asking for help. The chef delivered our food. He was very proud and should be. However, here's the rub. The chef needs to learn that being in the restaurant business is not only about creating great food. It also requires front of house service and an overall dining experience that people are happy with. Right now, I'm walking away feeling: 1. great food and great atmosphere 2. terrible service 3. nickle and dimed me on drinks 4. doesn't have the sense to serve iced tea in the Caronlinas So - as much as I loved the food - there are too many restaurants in Wilmington that are good enough to overcome 2, 3 and 4 above. The Dram could be fixed so easily: 1. hire servers who want to be there and smile a little 2. put ice in your water 3. serve iced tea - at least in the summer months 4. get a soda fountain - it's 2026 Unfortunately, we won't be back because there are simply other options that, at the very least, hit 1, 2 and 3 with good food.

"Good Mexican with a twist near downtown Wilmington"…read more Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner at 6pm and were seated immediately despite it being a group of 5. The place was not very large but relatively full, so be wary of coming later unless you're OK waiting. The restaurant had a bit of a rustic look but clean & well maintained, and nice local art posted on the walls. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and a lot of the food was sourced locally. We started with a sweet potato- goat cheese "guacamole" appetizer. I split the Jefe's Arroz Con Pollo and the Carne Con Ancho with my son. My girlfriend got the vegan rellenos. Food came out in maybe 20 minutes. The ACP was very good but unusual. It came with a thigh and leg of chicken on top, and a big mix of flavors of food underneath-- coconut rice, black beans, pineapple salsa. Curiously no cheese. Very different from any ACP I've ever had. Overall, it was fine-- honestly, my son and I both felt it was too many flavors that overwhelmed each other. In contrast, the Carne Con Ancho was spectacular. The steak bits were cooked rare to perfection and absolutely melt in your mouth. The flavors of the arepa below it as well as the horseradish and other components blended beautifully and made for a wonderful dish. My girlfriend said the rellenos were nicely fried and the sweet potato puree was excellent-- a very hearty dish without feeling heavy. And we all also really liked the guacamole appetizer-- unusual yet delicious flavor (and no avocado). Price was fair-- this was definitely upscale, so not "cheap", but fair for what we got. Overall, I'd happily come back, and definitely would want that Carne Con Ancho again. I recommend.

We had hoped to surprise my wife, but she figured it out the night before. Wm was just as disappointed as I was, but stayed in touch throughout the planning process and made sure everything still went smoothly. The attention to detail and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Our server, Jeffrey, was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. He kept everything moving at the perfect pace and made our entire table feel well taken care of. Our group ordered several different dishes, including the Arthur Ave. beef rib sugo with cavatelli, the Cacio Me If You Can house-made spaghetti with mushrooms, cheese, pepper, and pine nuts, and the Rural Swine featuring North Carolina pork. Every single plate was excellent. There wasn't a bad meal on the table. The wine selections paired beautifully with dinner, and the complimentary olive oil birthday cake was a thoughtful touch that ended the evening perfectly. The restaurant itself deserves recognition as well. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling pretentious. I especially appreciated the warm, darker interior with exposed brick, comfortable seating, and a welcoming feel. It has character and feels inviting rather than the typical bright white subway-tile bistro that so many restaurants seem to imitate today. The dining room was comfortable, the bar was beautiful, and even the restrooms were spotless and well maintained. Seeing the AAA Four Diamond awards displayed made perfect sense after experiencing the restaurant firsthand. Most importantly, we spent a wonderful evening celebrating my wife's birthday with good friends, and Manna provided the perfect setting for those memories. We'll definitely be back.
