Meh. This is the second time we have tried Tandoori Bites and overall, it's a big disappointment. The Indian food scene in Wilmington is really underwhelming, so I guess when you have nothing to compare it to, this is something. Both times we have come here, we felt really rushed, but this time was exceptional. There were like 4 tables, so no reason for it at all. Really rushed to put our order in that is. After, they took their time getting the check to us. Food is so mediocre that I actually prefer the jarred sauces from the store and to make it myself. And the prices are outrageous. Now to the food... I have eaten a lot of Indian Food from London to NYC. I can tell y'all... this is not it. Something is really off with their gravies and I can't quite place my finger on it. Maybe it's not fresh? Maybe the spices are off. It just tastes odd. I mean if you want to spend 50.00+ at lunchtime and get subpar "Indian" food and really great raita and naan, then this is the place for you. read more

We went here for lunch yesterday after 4 years and quickly realized why. The food was stale, which led to an upset stomach. Only the rice was liberally served, disregarding any attention to customers' health. We came here for a date night, and overall, the experience was good. The service was friendly, though we did feel a bit rushed despite the restaurant not being very busy at the time we arrived. My wife ordered the butter chicken with basmati rice. She enjoyed it, but noted that the flavor was a bit different from other butter chicken she's had before--it tasted more tomato-based than she's used to. Of course, we're not from that culture, so we can't say exactly how it should taste, but it was still flavorful. I had the lamb Rogan, which is lamb tossed in a spicy yogurt sauce with basmati rice. This dish was excellent--the lamb was tender, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. We also shared the lamb samosas, which came with mint chutney. The chutney was decent, but the lamb filling was a bit dry. On the plus side, they brought out complimentary poori, which was a nice touch. I had lunch with a friend today at Tandoori bites Wilmington on College Road. It was my first time here. Very colorful interior with nice music in the background. Friendly service too. They have a lunch special and a nice regular menu. I chose the lunch combo with chicken tikka masala. Very nice variety on the plate. Check out the attached photo of the menu. My friend had the chicken palak (spinach). She enjoyed her food. The bread that came with my meal was so fresh and warm from the oven. Looking forward to go back and try something new. read more

Yo! This a legit 5 star Pakistani (Indian) restaurant. The food: We ordered lamb vindaloo, pinak paneer and plain naan bread. Wow! Everything was perfect. Honestly, more authentic than any other restaurant I've tried. My only complaint/critique would be the outside appearance of the restaurant. The inside is perfect. We have tried out all of the Indian restaurants in the area and this is our favorite one. The service is great, the decoration is cute and the food has been consistently very good. Today I tried the coconut soup and it was delicious, our butter chicken, paneer saag, pakoras, naan and chicken curry were great. We can't wait to eat the left overs. read more

Tandoori Bites is a really solid Indian restaurant with everything you would expect to see at one. They also have an all you can eat buffet at lunch time. I got the butter chicken, garlic naan and aloo tikki and it was all very good. The butter chicken had a nice blend of spices in it, the garlic naan was some of the best I had and the aloo tikki were great as well. We also received some papadums as a starter and they were packed with flavor and the spread they came with was a great pairing. Absolutely incredible. First, the waiters were extremely attentive, kind, and gave me recommendations as I have never had Indian food before. Asked me if I needed refills and how the food was and I personally love that. The decor is also nice as it's modern, stylish, not fancy, but also not too casual too. It's perfect. Food came out hot, and quickly. and most importantly; it was delicious. I highly recommend the Tandoori Chicken Tikka. The service was incomparable ! My water was kept full (the waiter politely asked each time), empty dishes were gathered promptly and the staff was very polite. Tandoori Bites has fastly become my favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Whenever I drive up from Jacksonville I always stop by here to catch their lunch special. Everything I've had here has been superb. The food is always fresh and fragrant with herbs and spices. The service is excellent as well. The interior decor is stunningly beautiful. I always get the palek paneer and Dal. I've also tried the Lamb Rogan which is a fresh tomato based curry. The sweet acidity from the tomatoes is perfectly balanced with he savoriness of the lamb. I always order roti it's cooked to my liking almost like how my aunt used to make it. I grew up eating curry and naan and roti and this is definitely the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. read more

My family ate here while on vacation. This is the best Indian food I've ever had. There were 5 of us and we shared an appetizer and three entrees. We had onion bhajia, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. With naan and paratha. Each dish was wonderful. We thought we would take the left overs back to our hotel but everything got eaten . We all joined the clean plate club! Look forward to going back next time we're in Wilmington. One of my favorite Indian places in Wilmington. This is always my go to place when I want some Indian. Most the time I get take out but this time I stayed in and ate in the restaurant. My family and I went to Tandoori Bites to celebrate the lunar New Year. We were impressed by the extensive menu that was perfectly prepared with correct spices from northern India. The portion sizes were perfect to feed a family of five, but then again we ordered quite a bit of the menu. I can highly recommend the black dhal combined with the half tandoori chicken and the naan bread. For a small restaurant tucked away off Market Street, it was extremely busy for Saturday evening. I was impressed by the level of service and accuracy of our waiters and waitresses that paid attention to ensure our meal was exquisite. For those that are adventurous like myself try the lamb kebab, it is cooked to perfection. And if this isn't enough for you, try the mango shrimp; it will make your mouth water and delight your senses with every serving! Every dish is seasoned well and made like it should be, portions are perfect for their pricing as well. I've been here several times. The food is good for what it is. It's satisfying and usually "scratches the itch." However the last time I was here (September) I was very disappointed at the spice level and the response by the staff. We asked for some dishes to be indian spicy. It wasn't. From my perspective it barely got past "mild". Perhaps it would have been spicy for those who don't eat spice but for me it wasn't close to anything I would call spicy. I asked for a hot sauce and received a vinegar based hot sauce that was one level above Frank's Red Hot. I then asked for fresh green chilies. Needless to say I was disappointed as fresh chilies don't go as well with the meal. To the establishment and staff: if you aren't going to serve spicy meals please have spicy sauces to bring to your customers. read more
