I had a great leisure lunch on 1/19 for my birthday. I consider myself a Foodie. I enjoy the whole "dining experience " Good food, drinks, and good service. I received it All. Thumbs up to Tammy our server. She could explain the dishes I had questions about and suggested the perfect drink to compliment the entrees chosen. The eggplant was Deelish, and the best spring rolls. Why not 5 stars. They don't have plum wine, ugh HELLO need to get that. And we asked for a plate so we eat the fruit soaked cocktail. (Sooo good). Our server asked the food runner who brought the food if he could bring her an extra plate. Be aware of this place. Double check your receipt. Last night a group of us stubbles upon on this restaurant while walking around the MGM. The place is beautiful however the food is so-so. More importantly, our check was $135. We handed our waiter $60 in cash and three credit cards to split the balance...The waiter came back with our checks and each one of our receipts totaled $35. Now.. if you do simple math, (135-60=$75/3=$25) our check were incorrect. Our waiter tried to charge us an additional $30. The manager apologized for the mistake however she did not show any empathy which made me feel like she was aware that he overcharged us. I will never go there again. Recently, I had a celebratory lunch with a friend who retired from the Federal Government after 39 years of service. I wanted everything to go smoothly. Well, Ginger's Restaurant was the perfect selection. I made reservation and requested a booth, which was honored. Our waiter respected our privacy and could see we had a lot of catching up to do. He allowed ample time between our chatting and placing our order. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was excellent. Most of all, MD our waiter was superb. I highly recommend this restaurant and most significantly, ask for MD as your waiter. read more

Went to Ginger inside MGM grand. I ordered chicken/broccoli and Mongolian beef. There was plenty of food to consume and service was great. Food was tasty but not extraordinary. The decor was beautiful. Waited fir 45 min to be seated and gere were open tables but hostess saidntheybhave to allow time ti cater to guest thats why you have to wait. If you've had a major loss at the casino at MGM, I can only recommend coming to Ginger as a fallback. FANTASTIC servers, Song and Li! They never took a second to get away and always made sure we were taken care of. The duck was hot and crispy and definitely the star of the meal. This place can't compare to the food in Vegas but I food is pretty good. We had a reservation at 9pm and right when we came, they seated us right away. I know they take walk-in too but I would recommend making a reservation to get seated promptly. It seem like a pretty busy restaurant. A must try dish is the panang chicken curry. It has lychee in it and who would have thought putting a fruit into a curry dish would taste so good! One of the best curry dishes I've ever tasted. It has a kick to it so if you do not like spicy food, let them know to make it not too spicy. I also liked the soft shell crab fried rice but they don't give you a lot of soft shell crab so we ended up ordering extra crab. The service is excellent. I was holding my baby and one of the server even offered to hold him while I ate but he was sleeping so I didn't want to pass him to the server in fear of waking him up. It was a very sweet gesture though. There is no restroom in the restaurant. You will have to walk outside of the restaurant next to the gift shop to use the restroom but it is not too far away. read more

However it's not the food alone that keeps me coming back to the restaurant; it's the most amazing server Minzhi. She is a very special person with an unusual talent to make the patron feel special. Ate at Ginger for the first time last night..I probably won't be back.. At the start I told the waitress that I don't eat any meat, dairy, or eggs. I ordered the pineapple fried rice without shrimp, sausage, and egg. We also ordered the fried tofu for an appetizer. So first we waited a long time and someone brought out a pineapple fried rice WITH meat before our appetizers. We told the waitress and she got all flustered and took it away. Eventually we got our appetizers. The sauce for the tofu was nasty..like a pasty peanut butter..so gross. My friend ordered lettuce wraps with chicken but there was no chicken, only vegetables. THEN my fried rice came back without meat..but also..without PINEAPPLES..I don't understand how pineapples were forgotten in "pineapple fried rice." I understand that mistakes happen, and every restaurant has bad nights. I used to be a supervisor for a restaurant myself. But with the reviews I've seen on yelp, it looks like what happened to me is not too unusual for this place. Outstanding food and service - particularly Steven, the manager who stopped by on numerous occasions to ensure that we were enjoying our meal and genuinely seemed to care about the quality of our visit. The Pan fried sea bass was great but the star of the show was the diced beef tenderloin. The mixed vegetables were also good. Garlic green beans were so yummy and delicious. Cocktails were tasty as well. We got the cucumber and jasmine cocktails. The portions are absolutely massive so for instance there were 3 of us who were all very hungry and we split 4 plates and still had food leftover. The food literally comes out on platters. This place is Thai food for people who do not like Thai food. I ordered the chili basil fried rice and asked for it extra spicy. They brought it back and it had kick at best - which was disappointing for a Thai restaurant. The basil and chili was lacking and worse of all the rice was DRY. I have never had dry Thai rice. Ever. It was bland. And I swear they used short grain rice and not jasmine or basmati. After the $23 rice (the portion size wouldn't have been bad if it tasted good) the manager asked how it was. I told her it was dry, bland and not spicy. She admitted they turn the spice down for tourist and said I should've ordered extra spicy, she then looked at my receipt and said "oh you did, well maybe next time". Not an offer for a discount or to cook a new one when she could see I barely touched it. Anywho, I didn't mind the service, but save your money and ride across the bridge to ANY carry out on oxon hill or better yet go to the hood like Rios buffet and get better fried rice. read more

Cut and served as 2 separate dishes. Nice bread buns instead of traditional pancakes. I prefer traditional pancakes. Snow pea leaves were soggy but still taste good. Nice Ginger ice cream dessert. I have to concur with the three star rating this restaurant is receiving. The food was good, not great, and for Kung pao chicken that costs $23, it had better be amazing. It wasn't; was good enough for $12. The dim sum cart is a nice touch & costs $9 per item. They also give you an extremely small amount of rice for your entrees. If the cost was a bit lower, I'd come back but for 2 entrees, 2 dim sum, an appetizer and two cokes, the bill was $106. My wife and I are big foodies and don't mind paying for great food. Beautiful atmosphere. Service is impeccable. Food is absolutely delicious. We've had lunch and dinner -- at least 6 times. I've had the Mongolian Beef, LOVE IT. The sauce is perfect, the beef melts in your mouth. My hubby is stuck on the Drunken Seafood Noodles. Seasoning is perfect, the variety of seafood is prepared perfectly. He told me, "why mess with perfection and try something else" LOL. I have enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and on our next visit, today, I'm going to try the kung pao chicken. The Mongolian Beef is an absolute winner, love it. You can't go wrong with dining at Ginger. I highly recommend it. read more
