The service and food were very good. We ordered takeout, there was a nice waiting area. The dining looked like it would have been nice. They prepared the meals well to go. Played and utensils were provided upon request. It was conveniently located down from our hotel. I would recommend the Thai basil chicken rice and mermaid sushi roll.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and initially I would've given it a 2 because the greeting at the door was unhappy, almost like 'what are you doing here?' However, the waitress lightened up as the lunch went on. Fast service, but not necessarily with a smile. The restaurant is surprisingly bigger than it looks. There's a whole top floor as well as the first floor so they can accommodate large parties. The lunch was OK. It was off the generic lunch menu, which is usually like standard Chinese fast food and that's what I felt when I got the shrimp with mixed vegetables. It had brown sauce, quite salty, nothing to rave home about but the avocado salad was good. It just left more to be desired. The ginger sauce over lettuce was a little bland but good sized portion. Clear soup was also tasty!

First time ordering Kisso through DoorDash and let me tell you...amazing! I've gone to the restaurant to have a sit down dinner many times but never ordered delivery. Tasty and flavorful sushi rolls as always!

Ordered delivery on a Sunday afternoon and WOW! The spread included sushi, shrimp tempura, and beef with broccoli. Everything I tried was delicious! And the shrimp tempura was a hit (even with little ones!) I love that this place has such great variety.

    Angry Dragon Roll

The Angry Dragon Roll was probably the most filling roll I've ever had in my life. The flavors go very well together and I left feeling very satisfied! Service was good, and quite quick, there wasn't a long wait for food/drink or even to be seated. They have a decent set-up, even offering seating where the sushi is prepared. And honestly, their prices are affordable for Old Town, it really felt like I ate an entire meal.

Came to Kisso on a Sunday night and was seated immediately since it was pretty empty when we arrived. The place filled up shortly after. It's a cute restaurant with trendy music, creating a nice vibe. Our waitress was attentive and helpful in answering our questions. I ordered hot sake and two rolls: the Angry Dragon and the Sassy Roll. I realized too late that I'm not a big fan of hot sake, so that was on me, but my friend enjoyed it! The rolls were delicious, especially the Sassy Roll--it really stood out. While the prices were a bit steep, the overall experience was worth it. I'd definitely come back!

I've walked by this restaurant for years and tonight was the night to try it! Service was fast and attentive. My boyfriend and I each had miso soup and variety of sushi rolls. It was delicious and fresh, and with this and 2 beers the cost was under $50. I will definitely be back; the lunch options seem affordable as well.

Spicy scallop roll (back) & spider roll (front)

Got the spicy scallop roll & spider roll, both good. I liked that the spider roll had a freshly fried soft shell because it was still warm. I'd eat here again and maybe try the ramen because my friend liked it.

The food was delicious. The stir fry, sushi and fried rice was the so good. Everything was hot and seasoned to taste. The service was quick and the vie of the restaurant was nice.

Came by for lunch when we were staying at a hotel in Old town, and it was super close! We tried a bunch of different rolls, and some calamari which were fresh and delicious. I also tried their thai tea which was not very sweet, but still good. Overall id say their service for a busy Saturday lunch time was not bad. It was casual and we were seated fast. Id say price wise you can expect what you would typically for an area like this part of Alexandria; not cheap unless you want very easy or quick eats. Best rolls to try hands down- Godzilla with an honorable mention to the dragon roll which was super fresh.

    Chirashi
    Samantha C.

The waiter was kind and accommodating since I was the first of my party to arrive. She sat me down immediately. I enjoyed this chirashi bowl. I believe there were 15 pieces. It was very filling and worth the price. I liked the overall vibe of this place. Definitely a nice spot to eat with your friends after work!

Food was sooooo good and the service was fast. Our waiter took good care of us. The only thing I didn't care so much was the fact that the restaurant was kinda small so you are seated close to the people next to you. Other than that it was super good and I will be going back again.

We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +Crab Rangoon - triangular-shaped, generously filled with the cream cheese/crab mixture; could have been a bit more crispy, as it was slightly chewy; the sweet & sour dipping sauce was a great complement +Chow Fun - we opted for the beef as a protein; the noodles were extremely wide, which was great; you can kick it up with chili oil and soy sauce; beef were plentiful +Mongolian Beef - lots of onions and scallions, this had a good flavor; you can add more of a saltiness to it with soy sauce This is definitely a family-run and -operated eatery, as the youngest son was taking orders and manning the register; all orders were made-to-order, so what you will be receiving will be super fresh! The owners were very kind, friendly, and attentive! There were a couple of tables inside, so we chose to dine in. Everything tasted fresh, not at all salty, and prepared with care and love. This is a family-run restaurant and it was great to see that they had their very young son manning the counter and the cash register in a totally professional way. The menu is straight-forward with the usual and expected dishes. One dish I did not expect to see, but did, were hush puppies! Everything we ordered for takeout was excellent. Portions are generous and inexpensive. Note: there are two tables in the restaurant if you prefer to dine in. We ordered egg drop soup, crispy pork wontons, Mongolian Chicken and Mongolian Beef. The egg drop soup was better than your typical egg drop soup, with a flavorful broth and silky but still hearty texture. The wontons were packed with pork and came with a tasty bright red dipping sauce that complimented the wontons nicely. The Mongolian Beef and Mongolian Chicken are the same dish, with the only difference being the meat. These dishes were very well prepared with just the right amount of onion, scallion and sauce. The beef had a delicious slightly smoky flavor and was cut into nicely shaped pieces. The Mongolian dishes automatically come with white rice. Speaking of the rice, it had a great texture and just the right amount of moisture. Take out orders may take up to a half hour for them to be prepared, but it is well worth the wait. We will be back.

STEAMED CHICKEN MOMO (6) - 13 The chicken momos sat on top of a creamy chili garlic sauce that was a bit spicy. The momos were juicy and the filling was soft and flavorful. Good appetizer to share between the three of us. BUTTER CHICKEN - 19 Creamy and rich, tasted a bit sweeter than I was used to, almost like a chicken tikka masala. Pretty standard, but got the job done. Plenty of chicken in our curry. SAAG PANEER - 19 Vibrant green with the perfect loose, creamy texture that wasn't too chunky. Good amount of paneer in our portion. The spinach actually tasted like spinach, which I find rare at other restaurants that also serve saag/palak paneer. Definitely one of the better ones I've had! GARLIC NAAN - 4 Pretty typical, but good nonetheless. It was a bit greasy than I would have liked, but went well with the curries when we wanted to switch between bites of the basmati rice. Portions were pretty big and generous. Everything we ordered hit and all above average. The three of us were quite full after sharing an app + naan + two entrees. Stop by if you're in the area!

I would say if you get this, you should eat it first/soonest since i enjoyed it more at first bite while it was hot. The walnut shrimp was good, the shrimps were the smaller ones that were an easy way to snack. The braised pork belly was so tender. It reminded me of char siu, flavor wise, as long as you're ok with the pork belly (aka fatty pieces). Beef chow fun was good. We were interested in ordering the bento box, but he explained that it would take much longer because the kitchen was focused on brunch service and the chef would need to stop other tasks to prepare it.
