We had such a great night here. The atmosphere was so vibrant and the music was just right for a Wednesday night. The drinks are strong and tasty, so I would recommend getting at least 2 or 3. The bar snacks are good. We had the almonds, but you're going to have to eat dinner somewhere else. We ordered what we thought was dinner, but turned out to be (in my opinion) premium snacks. This was our first time here, so it was a learning experience. If you come be sure to make dinner reservations for either before or after the show. We wound up going to Forno right next door.

First time here - vocal jazz tonight. It was lovely! Very jazz lounge feel. We sat at the bar - Knowledgeable bartenders with creat Hendricks - make up your own martini was interesting g with kits of gin, vermouth, and garnish choices. We shared a couple small plates - hummus and burrata. The hummus was earthy and good - not as creamy as I would like but it's a different style. Bursts was delicious!

Really great vibe! The basement is great for acoustics too you can order alot of drinks but rather limited food menu, the Ginger rabbit cocktail is divine! Service was quality too, they make sure to avoid interrupting the show while serving you! Will be back for sure!

You enter down some stairs to hostess stand. It's dark. Be careful. Make sure you have made reservations on line otherwise you are taking a chance you won't get in. They have early and late shows throughout the week. There are different type of seating arrangements in small intimate space. Bar stools, some empire style lounge chairs and couches surrounding small tables. Easily fills up. People come here primarily for the great local jazz performances. More listening then chatting folks. The drinks are ok. Not strong. The nibbles are also smaller in size. Not that interesting. (You can easily run up your tab because of the proportion sizes.) But then again it's the music you are coming for. Music is awesome. Service is consistent. Atmosphere is definitely chill. Ginger rabbit is a spot to unwind, relax and feel stress-free.

Obsessed. Randomly ended up here for a drink or two before dinner upstairs at Forno. Walked in a bit blindly and was so pleasantly surprised. The hostesses were lovely and welcoming. It's lovely inside with cozy and lush decor. The live jazz was the perfect auditory backdrop. The cocktail menu is exceptional and creative and leans into all of the cocktail techniques. As a cocktail nerd this was exactly the place I was looking for. The Old Fashioned and the Hippogriff were delightful. Absolutely will be coming back here next time I'm in Columbus. Highly recommend for the vibes, the drinks, and the service. Perfect for a date - with someone or solo, parents night out, or a fun night with friends. The vibe is just perfect.

Reservations are required here (though they'll take walk-ins if people don't show up). The staggered seating times was a little weird when booking in advance, not sure if they enforce this as it's so exact. The Colin Lazarski Trio on Friday night was awesome on the drums, keyboard, and electric guitar, playing jazzy renditions of songs like Time of the Season by the Zombies and Ray Charles' You Don't Know Me on the organ. Sitting at the bar was great (just don't select the middle seats which have obstructed views of the stage). The place offers unique snacks on the menu like octopus in galician sauce and dark chocolate sweets. But I just had a drink while I was there, the french 75. It was made well and satisfying. Bar staff was friendly and helpful the entire time. Glad I was able to experience a night out at this intimate venue with a sort of vintage charm, during my recent visit to Columbus.

I love the ambience of the place. I love the entrance to the place. I wish I had gotten a photo. I was running late for the show but you walk in you come down the stairs and it's a small intimate place beautifully decorated perfect for a date night perfect for our first day perfect for a casual Meeting to suggest spend some time with someone good for a girls date the seating is comfortable intimate place beautifully decorated. Gives a typical Jazzz almost speak easy vibe. The restroom was beautiful clean bar well stock. They did have small bites not enough for you to have a meal but enough to carry you over if you stop there before a meal or after a meal, my only takeback would be not knowing what the band will be the night that I went. I didn't enjoy the music. I enjoyed the ambience of the place more and I ended up believing early. The staff was very accommodating very attentive no complaints about the staff and I would return again.

I've been transported to Manhattan LES. Really. Basement lounge. Dark. Small. Pretty much all two-tops. Fine musicians (Mary McClendon has lost a few steps but geez, she's 80+. Her trio backup is stellar). Nice cocktails. Attentive service. We are big fans. Welcome to the Columbus scene.

long story short: intimate jazz bar with nice cocktails & small bites We went on a whim & were very pleasantly surprised. The space is so cozy & warm, with dimmed lights & cushy chairs. The service was good & the server was very attentive throughout the evening. We got a couple of drinks- both good- & an order of whipped feta, which was a great light bite. The music was the star of the show though & we really enjoyed our evening there. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice evening of music & drinks.

    Whipped feta, delicious!

So conflicted on this review. Management gets a 0, but the venue gets a 5. Let's start with the positives. Quaint little bistro and stage. Fast friendly service. Delicious food, though a very limited menu. Looks like they don't have any equipment to cook with, as everything in the menu is cold. But boy was it good! Started with their version of an Old Fashioned. Had a big rock, cool, and a cinnamon flavored simple syrup. It was delicious! Had a second before the night was out. We also ordered the whipped feta and open faced salmon. Both were outstanding! The entertainment was outstanding. I was expecting a solo act, or maybe a piano accompaniment. What we got was a singer, a drummer, a string bass, a piano, and an alto sax. Some of their numbers made their debut that night, but they sounded like they had been playing together for years! I will definitely be back as long as I can get by management's attitude towards their employee's welfare. They tack on 3% as an "Employee Wellness" charge to aid in their benefits . This should be a cost of doing business, not an optional charge! There is a fine line between doing what you HAVE to do, versus, what you SHOULD do and what you NEED to do based on the competitive environment. Don't make your customer's feel they shoulder the whole responsibility for taking care of your employees.

Went to the 8:15 show at Ginger Rabbit as part of a date night in the Short North. Intimate venue provided a great atmosphere and the music was great. Menu focused on small plates and shareables, which was all we needed at that stage of the evening. Definitely would recommend if looking for something to do downtown.

Amazing loved everything about this venue. We booked our seats late so only had seating at bar but well worth it. Service was amazing. Drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere is fantastic. Will visit again and buy tickets much more in advance.

Such a cool experience and tasty drinks!

Ask the Community - Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge

Do they offer Zero Proof cocktails?

Not listed on the menu but I have no doubt they would be able to accommodate

Is there a dress code? Are shorts and a decent shirt ok for men?

It's below ground level and they keep it cool, so while nice shorts are ok and have worn there, until you get a few of their amazing cocktails you may be chilly

Once he realized it was actually a brewery, he was all in! The brewery has a great atmosphere, and the bartender was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Since we've been visiting several breweries during our getaway, they even gave us a Seventh Son passport, which was a nice surprise and a fun way to continue exploring the local brewery scene. I ordered the Wild & Sour flight and really enjoyed it. It was a great way to sample a variety of unique flavors, and each pour showcased the creativity and quality that Antiques on High is known for. Between the excellent beer selection, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely a brewery I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area. Looking forward to stopping back again!

I went again for a Book Bar event held upstairs and the bartender was not nice to me. I used my one drink ticket and chose not to see her again. I stopped in recently because I had time to kill in the area. I sat at the bar and another female bartender took my order. We had to duck down to talk under the taps. Since it wasn't a weeknight happy hour, I paid $12 for a glass of a wine. I was going to tip her but she walked away and I didn't see her again before I left. I did see grumpy bartender, but I didn't order again.
