Came here a couple time before and had good service maybe because we ordered like 5 entrees that day but the other day i came here because i was craving pad Thai so my friend and i ordered pad thai and fried rice and a couple drinks (my friend wasnt really hungry) and just because we ordered 2 dinner plates the old guy treated us like crap. (I think he was the owner) Really disappointing. Oh yea and my friend asked for another plate because the one he gave him was dirty and so the old guy took it behind the bar and we seen him the whole time and he wipes it down With a towel and hands it back to my friend instead of giving him a new clean plate. I can't say enough good things about this place! I was a frequent costumer at their previous thai restaurant in Marina and boy am I glad they opened up a bigger and closer place here in Salinas!! I came during the lunch rush the first week they opened. Great service for being the first week of opening considering still getting the hang of things!! I strongly recommend: red or green curry! Tom yum soup! Mango chicken/beef (your choice) Pad see eww or pad kee mao (can't go wrong with either) And of course, pineapple fried rice. Really, anything on their menu is amazing!! Their pad-see-ew is so good and so is their pad Thai! Overall their menu looks pretty tasty, this a place to go to for me in Salinas. Even when I'm eating on the healthier side, I get their veggies and chicken entree and is so filling! I would highly recommend it. Enjoy! read more

My family went to Ginger Thai Kitchen tonight. It wasn't bad but as another reviewer said, we weren't blown away by our experience there. First, it seems to be a rather popular restaurant, as when we arrived, it was literally packed from wall to wall. Every table but one was taken, but that didn't take long to fill, as a couple from the bar was seated at that table once it was ready. The wait for our table was between 5 and 10 minutes. Not too bad, really, and more reasonable than some chain restaurants to be certain! The Thai iced tea is great! I had that and my younger daughter had the Boba Thai iced tea. She enjoyed it. We had two servers. One gentleman came and took our order for appetizers and brought us some water when we requested it. The young lady came after he left and took our drink and dinner order. The service was really prompt and punctual, though they didn't seem to like to check in on their customers during the meal. For appetizers, we ordered Chicken Satay and Potstickers. Both were rather yummy. My older daughter went nuts for the peanut sauce. It was very good, to be sure! Dinner arrived fairly quickly. Both of the kids ordered the pork ribs, I ordered the pad thai with shrimp, and my boyfriend ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken and a chicken curry that had potatoes, onions, and carrots. The pad thai was great! It could have used a lime wedge for an extra touch, but that really wasn't exactly very missed. The entire dish was very flavorful and I'm very glad I got it. Neither of my daughters liked the ribs. They didn't have very much meat on them, and there wasn't much more to the dish than that, some shredded ginger, and a few peanuts. It would have been nice for the server to inform us that they should order something else to go with it to make a filling meal. I think we will return again another time. My fiance and I shared the orange duck and pineapple fried rice. The duck was to die for, and the fried rice was good. Came for dinner with the broski and really enjoyed this place! There wasn't really any promising thai places around the Salinas area so we decided to give this a shot after finding it on Yelp. We ordered shrimp tom yum, spicy papaya salad and thai basil duck. Food came out quickly and tasted very fresh. The portions were very appropriate. Food was moderately priced and restaurant upkeep including restrooms was spot on. Stopped by here which is located on south main on my way to Monterey, I wanted to indulge on some bomb slightly spicy flavorful Thai fried rice, weeelllllll it also was during Holy Week, couldn't eat meat and gave up chicken for lent, have been eating nothing but shrimp and seen there was an option for fish fried rice, I was super excited anticipating fish fried rice, what sucked is it came out and it was battered what seemed like frozen fish u buy in a bag like I could still taste the frost burn and it had no flavor fish! I was very disappointed and there was no flavor to the rice I had to drench it with siracha! I was soooo annoyed, they even had the right to charge an extra 3$ for the fish! We ate at Ginger Thai Kitchen for the first time yesterday; it was very nice. Mom and I both had the lunch special Yellow Curry Chicken, mild. It was great, tasty, just as expected! This was Mom's first Thai food so we wanted a conservative introduction, but she's looking forward to trying the Panang Curry; she loves green beans. We will explore more of the menu soon. read more

My partner and I went on their opening day. We really loved the owner's previous location and Marina and really excited they have opened in Salinas, and even in walking distance from our home. The food was just excellent. We had the Fresh Rolls, the Tom Yum soup with seafood, Orange duck and one of their curry dishes. I really want to make my way through their whole menu. There was a wait which was to be expected on opening night. We ordered a bottle of wine and had an enjoyable conversation amongst ourselves and neighbors while we waited. Fresh (spring) rolls were delightful. The full order was a lot for an appetizer for two but we managed to enjoy them. The Thai basil noodles with chicken were very good (medium heat) and gave a slow burn that lingered - just right for me. My Mom had Chicken with Ginger sauce that she really liked. Food is normally above average to great but with recent take out it seemed like my food had been sitting for some time. I arrived 5min early. Also, a few of the portions did seem a little small. Unlike some places they did not skimp on the shrimp which was a plus. This being said, they have a good pick up set up because of Covid-19. We will go back. read more
