Sometimes, you just want an easy place to get a sandwich and a bag of chips. Gingersnaps is that place. This is a little mom-and-pop joint that's attached to a bookstore, and they make sandwiches, pasta salads, soups, coffee and baked goods. There's a drive-thru window, which is convenient, but there isn't a menu to peruse, so you either have to know what you want, or you have to be picking up a carryout order. I wasn't doing either, so I parked and walked in. They have a good number of sandwich choices. I got the Simple Sandwich, which was just turkey, mayo, cheese, spinach, tomato and cucumber on wheat bread. It was simple but good. I also got a club sandwich for my husband, and he said it was good, too. Sandwiches come with a choice of either chips, fruit or pasta salad. I got pasta salad, and it was the kind with the Italian dressing, not the mayo-based salad. I actually prefer this kind of pasta salad, so I liked it. They are also a coffee shop, so I grabbed a cup of black coffee. They sell baked goods, but when I was there in the afternoon, they didn't have too much variety -- just a couple of cookies and brownies. Oh, and if you're looking for a crypto currency machine, Gingersnaps has you covered, of all places. There is an ATM-looking crypto machine in the corner. read more

Quaint little coffeehouse in the back of a bookstore. The servers were pleasant and the food was excellent. We got 1/2 of the turkey pesto sandwich. My daughter got a Mediterranean salad with hers and I got the potato soup with mine. The problem was that it took 18 minutes to get our food after we ordered. There were 3 tables that had customers. We were there a little after Noon on a Monday. It is difficult to eat there during a one hour lunch break. So, it is worth the visit if you aren't on a time schedule or in a hurry. read more

Crystal did an outstanding job of guiding me through a meal after my husband's funeral. She was patient and kind, made beautiful recommendations and delivered the meal herself. My daughter and I chose sandwiches, sides, and deserts. Also had a request for a gluten free meal for one family member. It was all delicious and my guests all wanted to know who catered the meal. The chicken salad on croissant was my favorite but everyone raved about the potato salad too. You just can't go wrong making this choice. Best Terre Haute stop ever. On a road trip from Columbus, Ohio to Springfield, Missouri, we stopped both on the way there and the way back. All of the ingredients were delightfully fresh, even the tomatoes, which makes me think they might source locally. Staff was friendly and accommodating. And they have lots of flavors of syrup for coffees and teas. The iced coffee was good, but they put the creamer in for my friend, so we had to dump some out and have it refilled to get it to the right taste. My blackberry iced tea was brewed just right. But the regular sweet and unsweet tea was oversteeped, so you might ask for a sample before you order it. read more

I had the salad trio, chicken, egg and tuna. I thought the chicken salad was great, it had a great flavor and the walnuts and dark juicy grapes were amazing. The egg salad was good but the tuna didn't taste right to me. I think it had dill in it which I don't care for and didn't expect in it. If you like dill you would probably like it. Fresh tomato slice, cucumber and lettuce leaf came with it and lots of fresh wheat crackers. I would recommend! Tasted fresh. read more

Nice small coffee shop located in a Christian bookstore. We have visited many times and the coffee is good and the food is fresh and tasty. The down side is there is only one table that has an electrical outlet and they don't have any easy chairs. Free good strength WiFi. read more

I was recommended to visit Ginger Snaps by some of my coworkers at Macy's because it's so conveniently located. The food was fantastic! I had the chicken ranch wrap with creamy tomato basil soup. The associates there were very friendly & nice. I have eaten there a few times on my lunch& they're always speedy with my order. The food is so delicious and they have gluten free options! The Ruben is amazing as is the turkey pesto sandwich! No gluten free desserts but at least all the sandwiches and salads can be made gluten free. I eat here regularly and have never had anything but excellent experiences! If you haven't been to Gingersnaps, then you are definitely missing out! I frequent the cafe at least twice a week, and I have never been disappointed. Everything is always fresh and usually made to order (I say that because the cookies and cakes are baked fresh, but not made to order). The staff is so friendly and they always let me modify everything I order. This is probably the BEST cafe in Terre Haute and is so much better than other sandwich or wrap shops (Subway and Roly Poly, I'm talking about you). Try it. You will NOT be disappointed. read more
