Above average pizza joint with a spacious area to eat. You have the option of formally dining in or ordering from the counter and sitting down. They have a wide variety of dishes but personally I thought it was also in the more expensive side. I got the buffalo chicken slice and my girlfriend got the spinach and broccoli calzone. Both were great and had a lot of flavor. This is the type of place that will actually get you full and even though it may be a little pricy, it sure was worth it after a day at the beach. Staff was nice and looked the part as well. Everything was clean and the vibe the restaurant gives off can bring you back to the 90's. I HAD THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE AT GINO'S LONG BEACH!!!!! Sunday 7/21 7:30pm (in hopes the owner reads this and fires this employee for this) I call GInos to place an order for delivery and the most rude girl answers the phone. I place my order for myself and my girlfriend - buffalo slice / regular slice / market salad with grilled chicken. She tells me "ok one hour" and hangs up without asking if I want to pay cash or card . . Well cash it is I guess. The food arrives about an hour later and my salad is missing the chicken. I called back in hopes someone would prioritize this and send out the chicken . . I'm two blocks away so i figured it would be a quick fix. She tells me she can credit me the price of the chicken I said no I want my food and she says k it'll be right over and again hangs up abruptly. About 45 minutes pass and my girlfriend says I think you should call and check if the order went out. I was thinking well no way the order didn't go out but hey it won't hurt to check. I call again and the same girl picks up so I say hey it's been 45 minutes and next thing I knew I was immediately put on hold. I was furiousssssss!!! Next thing you know this guy Matt who is the "head of delivery" (from what he said) - answers the phone and says this order never went out and never was even brought to his attention! HOW THE FUCK IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE! Matt was a complete professional about the situation and handled the situation the best he could but the fact that this girl who was soooo fucking rude fucked up my order twice and didn't even bother to fix it. . That's just not the right employee to represent your brand. As a business owner myself I read our yelp reviews regularly and monitor customer complaints so i know what we could be doing better. I'm writing this in hopes that the business owner or manager read this and realize they have some pretty careless people behind the counter who take zero pride in the business and reputation that the owner has worked so hard to maintain. The food here was actually pretty good . I was in town staying at the allgria hotel on a Friday night and ordered in. The women on the phone taking the order was a bit rude bc she was rushing the crap out of me and then still messed up my order . I ordered shrimp parm and they sent chicken parm ...I was not trying to eat meat so she really messed me up . The calamari was good and so was my husband slices . I found Gino's on Instagram. After seeing the pics I needed to try their dishes. I finally had the perfect opportunity, having been on Long Island at a friends get together. On my way home to Westchester, we pit stopped at Gino's with hope of indulging in some amazing pizza that on pics, seemed so delicious! Finay there we got seated, the server we were assigned was very nice and helpful deciding the Pizza we should have. We finally decided on a Pie which had half Buffalo Chicken and the other plain sauce and cheese. while we waited we ordered Lena's Meatballs which had great sauce. The Meatballs were nicely sized and tender. The only issue I had with them is that they were bland. I expected some flavor from the meat which left me not very impressed. We finally received our pie, the Buffalo Chicken was delicious. Chicken was tender with nice crust. I wasn't a fan of the Ranch sauce we got on the pie had when the menu mentioned "Blue Cheese". The Plain side, had a great sauce but got cold relatively quick - when that happened the cheese hardened. one would have thought it was out for at least 30 minutes.... So I have to update my review - I decided to give Gino's a second chance about a year ago and i was blown away by their sit down lunches. I might not have been a huge fan of their pizza before but now it's great plus their salads are AMAZING. My favorite pizza I'd have to say is between the Buffalo Chicken and the White Spinach Pizza both equally amazing but if I had to pick definitely go Spinach, it is so perfectly seasoned and cheesy! I love their Baked Ziti which is way better than closer pizzerias like East End and MoNelisa Pizza. The only reason I docked a star is because they charge for delivery and no other pizza place around here does. This place is definitely a go to stop for Pizza and some good old Italian cuisine! Arguably the best plain slice in LB and most certainly the best Grandma slice on the South Shore. Ordered a Grandma pie to the beach earlier today and it never disappoints. Love the fresh mozzarella that's always a little melted but not fully melted, it really adds a lot to a very standard pizza slice. I always love to here for lunch for the pick n pair - soup, salad or sandwich (pick 2) for around $10 can't really be beat. All in all, great pizza and a great selection of entree's if you'd like to dine-in. read more

UPDATE: Had a great lunch with my son. The pizza was fresh, hot and had a nice crunch. The garlic knots were cooked to perfection. And the service was very welcoming and pleasant, though I never had a problem with their service. My son talked me into going to Gino's because it looked nice...smh. I started off with one slice just in case and ended up eating three. Don't judge me I missed breakfast. It was SO GOOD! I must say I haven't dine-in at Gino's in years. I had many pick ups/ delivery but gave up on them after a few disappointing pies. I still feel their pies do not travel well. We have gone there before for pizza which is very good and we decided to go on Saturday night for a sit down dinner and was disappointed. The food was so so. The staff needs to stop rushing as much as they do. Twice the folder with our check was picked up and I hadn't even looked at it. A good beach and a good slice of pizza have something in common: both are best enjoyed topless. At Long Beach: Technically, a girl can discreetly ditch her bikini top and not get hauled off for indecent exposure. But I've tried it on several occassions over the past 10 years, and I can tell you that it's not the most comfortable experience if you're even remotely within walking distance of Edwards Blvd and the LIRR throngs. At Gino's: You'll walk in and see slices with chicken, and extra sauces, and pepperoni, and sausage... but you're better off going topless (well, topping-less). A plain slice is delicious, salty, cheesey, and splendid. Quite oily, yes, but grab some napkins and take it outside, where you can sit at an old-school bench-table and make a greasy mess as you tuck in. Be warned: if you usually eat 2 slices, you might want just one. They're weightier in one's belly than they first appear. A notable exception to the topping-less rule (kind of like a random weekday in early September, when the water is still warm enough, but the beach isn't blanket-to-blanket with New Yorkers -- that's when a girl might be able to let the biscuits out in the open without harassment): The spinach roll, which is essentially a huge mound of garlicky spinach and mozzarella, all rolled up in pizza-dough bread that is sliced on a transverse plane, and may be eaten with or without a fork. My fantasy: Some day, I'll have a plain slice from Gino's, while sitting at the water's edge, wearing just my skivvies, and without a soul in sight. read more

Gino's is great, I have been coming here as long as I can remember. Seriously that has got be a solid 20 years or close to it. The place is very clean and up to date looking. During the summer they are obviously extremely busy first because it's the summer in long beach and if you are a business in long beach during the summer and you aren't busy you are probably close to closing the doors and second because of the close proximity to the train station. A lot of the beach goers take the train in so they get a lot of foot traffic. Now onto the food..... When ordering takeout I tend to order the chicken rustico because I'm obviously attempting to be healthy. However, the meatball park and chicken park heroes are superb as well. The vodka sauce is just the way I like it(slightly creamy) and the rigatoni fiorentina is my fav. The pizza is the best in long beach in my opinion, maybe a tie with west end pizza but it's great. The staff is very friendly I have never had any problems with the service whether it's ordering delivery or dining in. My only issue I ever had with them was when one of the male employees would repeat my credit card number out loud when calling for delivery. I asked him not to do that and they have never done it since. A+++ read more

There are many great restaurants in Long Beach, but Gino's is by far my favorite. Old-world simplicity in a casual atmosphere makes it a favorite among locals, and it's easy to see why. It's a place that you can go to all the time with any group of people - whether you have kids who want a slice of their excellent pizza, to a family birthday, to a casual date. Don't forget to check the specials board, and by all means, don't skip the appetizers - they are wonderful. We recently had a grilled portobello mushroom stuffed with diced tomatoes, garlic and fresh mozzarella cheese - heaven. Another must have is the sauteed artichokes - you get about 8 of them in a lemon-wine sauce and they are divine. Would be great over pasta as a main course. Pizza and pasta are best bets for main courses. I had the Paparadelle Bolognese, and the pasta was super-fresh with a savory meat sauce. Portions are huge, so you'll have some for breakfast the next day. Desserts are good - I would recommend the brownie. Or you can take your pick of ice creams from the ice cream counter in the front. I am sad I could not give Gino's 5 stars. I lived in Long Beach from 1984 to 2001 and Gino's was by far the best pizza ever and their other food was pretty good too. Between 2001 and 2004 I would visit occasionally to fullfill a craving and the pizza was always just as good. In 2004 I moved to California and while I was gone I guess Gino's changed. I moved back to NY this year and hit Gino's first chance I got. The counter service was poor. Very abrupt and rude and the pizza lacked that something extra that used to make it sing in my mouth. The crust was great but teh sauce and chees were lacking. For teh first time ever I sprinkled a little salt on my slice of Gino's. Too bad that things have to change but that's life. I cam here with my inflight crew and Christina, our server, was nothing short of amazing! She was friendly, personable, and delivered great service. She told us a story of her first flying experience which was very entertaining too. Give this wonderful girl a raise! Now, the food. We dined in and the ambience of this restaurant is not what you would expect for a pizza place. Beautiful decor, furniture, and lighting. I had the stuffed veggie slice and a spinach pinwheel. The veggie slice was more like a calzone and stuffed inside were spinach and perfectly crisp broccoli. The ricotta and mozzarella cheeses tasted high quality. I will need to try the spinach pinwheel again before I review it because I was so hungry, I scarfed it down too quick to even take a picture. VERY reasonable prices too which is easy on the jumpseat budget. I had enough food to take the leftovers on my flight home. We walked in there was no hostess to seat us, a waiter says hang on someone will be here soon, he ends up being our waiter. He comes to our table eventually after about 10 minutes and says we just had shift change let me take your drink order...coke and a water takes quite awhile to get to the table. He comes back to say to us yeah sorry I don't know whats going on to night but everything is slow. He says he will bring us another basket of bread while we wait....never showed up. We order, takes over a half an hour for our garlic bread appetizer to hit the table and it wasn't very good either. Our meal shows up 2 minutes later, and the waiter says to us yet again yeah sorry no idea whats going on here not going to give you a bs excuse. We eat and pretty much annoyed at the entire situation decide to give up and just ask for the check. Another person comes up to us and says why are you pushing your plate away was it not good. We just said we were stuffed, we had sat there for almost an hour and half at this point in a half empty restaurant. The food was alright, nothing great. But the service and the comments just really ruined the entire meal. We ended the night with the waiter trying to offer us a dessert to take home, but at that point the nail was already driven into the coffin. read more
