We "camp" in Pismo at least twice a year. Found Gino's several years ago and it's the place we eat at the first afternoon after arrival. Talking about how delicious EVERYTHING is and planning on what we'll order is a conversation on the drive to town. The pasta dishes! The pizza! The salads!! Excellent!!! Decisions. Decisions. This place has some huge calzones. We tried the meat lovers and it was full of flavor and the sauce that comes with it was tasty as well. It was very filling. It was by far the best calzone I've ever had. Crust is soft and flaky, not hard like other places that overcook it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well. The flavor is good, but it's always dry. There is never enough sauce. Wish it wasn't so inconsistent.

We usually pick up a pizza at Gino's in SLO when we are staying there. This time we stayed in Pismo and was pleasantly surprised there was a Gino's in Pismo as well. Always a solid pizza here. We placed an order over the phone and it was ready piping hot in 15 mins. They even had plates, condiments and napkins in a bag packed up to go. So convenient and much appreciated! We ordered a large bacon, pepperoni pizza with mushrooms on half. We all enjoyed it and had plenty of leftovers for the next day. Give it a try of wanting pizza. read more

Then we just directly called the restaurant itself, did a phone order to go and it was ready in 20 mins!! Fab pizza and no waiting :) In $35, we got: - medium half-n-half pizza - half bbq chicken and half pepporoni/ mushroom/ jalapeno. We 2 ppl couldnt finish the medium pizza ourselves as it was loaded with toppings. Both halfs were distinct and yummy. After two recent visits, the latest one being just yesterday, I am compelled to update my review, and this time I am including pictures. Wow, what a difference 3 years makes .... and sadly, in the past year, this place isn't the same. In December late last year, we drove up from Santa Maria, where we live, which is an almost 20 mile drive each way, to get my usual: a large torpedo sub with capicola instead of ham, I noticed the meats were not the same high quality, but my medium Gino's Special pizza was still the awesome deliciousness it has always been. I shrugged it off as us going on a bad day, so I didn't give it much more thought. However, yesterday, both my sandwich and the pizza were horrible, and my friend's Caesar salad came, with no fork to eat it with! In addition, I was charged for a medium Gino's Special pizza, and this was what I got instead --- a pie with ONLY sausage and these huge thickly cut green bell peppers that were like biting into a whole raw pepper in each bite. My sandwich had the same substandard meats as it came with in December, that just tasted like I was eating salt, and I had to take the tomatoes out because they were put right on top, and falling out with each bite, and there was hardly any mustard and mayo. The bread was toasted so much it was hard for me to bite into, and it was even burnt in spots. I still want to give Gino's a chance, because I've been going there to eat for the past 20 years since its opening in Pismo Beach. When the owners are there, we always get extra pickles, plenty of extra plates, and plenty of napkins, but yesterday, I only got one pickle, and one bag of potato chips, instead of the usual two bags and two pickles I get. My friend had to just sit there while me and my other friend ate too, because she had no fork to eat her salad with. Especially when we asked for forks, knives, and extra plates, napkins, bags of chips and pickles. In the two enclosed photos, you can see both the pizza, and our receipt, which was rung up correctly. Will I come back? I am uncertain now, as I spent just under $60 dollars just to get hugely disappointed yesterday. Maybe we will go to Mountain Mike's next time we are up that way. Please hire better staff and train them in how to treat your loyal customers. read more

Came back as it was good in the past. Even better this time. Had a medium pepperoni and mushroom pizza . So good with great crust not the cardboard type like other places. We also had a pitcher of cold beer. Service was great and pizza the best in the 5 cities area IMO. read more

Don't let the fact that this place is tucked in a strip mall fool you. The pizza, breadsticks, and meatball sandwich are all fantastic! If we lived in the area this would be our go-to for pizza, with the clean dining area and friendly staff. read more

I recommend the BBQ chicken pizza. My wife is pretty picky with the chicken on pizza. The chicken was meaty (not shredded), flavorful, and not dried out. The spices in the bbq sauce were just different enough to be unique while complimenting the sweet and smokiness that I like in BBQ sauce. I'm our family there are three types of pizza : Kids Pizza $ - Domino's, Little C's, Etc. Adult Pizza $$$- Del's, Giuseppe's, Etc. Family Pizza $$- Gino's!!!! And this is our most popular pick. Why you ask? It's great pizza at a nice price point on a family budget. The crust is delicious, ingredients fresh, their menu includes more than pizza , they deliver and leftovers are just ask good the next day in school lunches (unlike "adult pizza") Most important...their staff is wonderful.
