When I arrived to pick it up the gentleman at the counter was very bland lol. But he was cool whatever. Location is in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. We were pleasantly surprised on how good the pizza was. We ordered a four topping pizza and let me tell you there was plenty of toppings on top. They were not Cincy at all.. It had good flavor. Pretty decent pizza! The crust is unique in that it is NOT greasy or oily like all the big chain corporate places. It has a little bit of a crunch to it. Really satisfying. Sauce, cheese, and toppings were all fine in quality and quantity. Temperature also fine. (I picked up for take home) I've tried it 3 times before I wrote this review; all 3 times were fine. Saved some for leftovers the next day to see how it reacted. It reheated fine in a small countertop convection oven, then I put the slices on a hot dry pan over a low flame. The crust returned to how it is when I bought it. Very nice. The place seems to be under new ownership or not what past reviews portray it to be. Very small place with 3 or 4 very young hispanic workers running the shop. Not very visible, they are all in the back. The front was unattended for the most part, but I was always greeted and attended right away. Small unassuming, hole-in-the-wall, dive pizza place. Man, I can't get over the nice crust! I will be going back here instead of the corporate chain places because of the crust. read more

Picked up lunch for my co-workers and we were slightly disappointed. We ordered a pastrami sandwich with NO lettuce and 2 lunch specials with Caesar salads. Though the receipt was correct, the sandwich had lettuce. With the sandwich being hot, it quickly warms up the lettuce. Who likes warm and soggy lettuce? Speaking of lettuce, the lettuce in the Caesar salad was not romaine like it is traditionally served. It had quite a bit of iceberg lettuce mixed in. Who knows,maybe this was to make up for the lettuce that had the brown edges. Let us not reflect on the lettuce alone(see what I did there?), the pizza was delish and the pastrami had the desirable crispy edges. Besides the obvious suggestions on the food, I would recommend that the restaurant update the menu online and also have take out menus available. read more

Did not realize there was a pizza joint here until I was searching. They definitely need to advertise more on FB to get more people because the pizza is so delicious! We got the La Vera Classic with chicken and it was loaded with toppings! It had chicken, Spinach, bacon, feta cheese, bell peppers, jalapenos, and pineapple! A golden crust, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with perfect thickness is the star of this pie. In fact, had the sausage been better (they use the same reindeer poop looking sausage that Dominies used to use, or at least that's what it tasted like anyway) I'd have put LaVera in the EXCELLENT category. However, the lack of a fennel sausage and a sauce that was just "meh" (I needed to add sea salt when I got home and I used all of the grated Parmesan and most of the chili flakes to "flava" it up. However, this pizza was still a very enjoyable eat. It could have been WAY better but it's still very good and l at a very reasonable price. read more

I have been to La Vera Pizzeria many times because it is the best pizza in Santa Maria. It is owned and operated by a local family who has been around for many years and far surpasses all of the pizza chain restaurants in quality and price. La Vera is the only pizza I get in Santa Maria at this point. My favorite pizza is the combo because they load it with so many toppings! Their pizza sauce and dough are homemade just the way I like it and the cheap prices do not reflect the quality or care they put in the ingredients that they generously serve. To mix things up, I recently tried a sandwich from there too. This had not been my go-to sandwich place in SM, but after having their pastrami sandwich, I will definitely be going back for more. I rarely go out of my way to write reviews on yelp, but I was so blown away by this sandwich that I had to say something! I also have to give a shout out to their buffalo wings! I got a lunch special, two topping personal pizza with a side salad and a drink. I opted to pay a dollar more for a Jarritos. My lunch special was $7.99. What an absolute deal. This little tiny pizzeria is conveniently located in the Town Center but not inside an enclosed mall, which I dislike. It's in an open-air section of the mall, with good parking and easy-to-find signs. With only 5 little tables this restaurant is very small. I got a pizza to go and a soda. It came to less than $9 and I was very happy. The smallest size they offer is 10" which was huge for just me to eat but somehow I managed. The toppings tasted fresh and the dough was thick and had a nice flavor. It wasn't soggy on the bottom and everything tasted great. I would definitely recommend them to go or if you get there when there are tables open! read more

I was in this shopping center and saw that a new place opened up where bravo's pizza once was. I decided to give it a try since it was packed. There is some seating ,but it is limited and they do serve your pizza to you. The service was good and the guy was very helpful. My only complaint is that they were a little slow. The prices are pretty fair which was a plus. They have jarritos and actual bottled coke. As far as the pizza, it was pretty good. It was cooked very well. The sauce and the cheese tasted great. Just wish they put a bit more sauce. It is good addition to Santa Maria and we really need more local places. I think I'll be back here. read more
