    Cesar's Salad
    Michael I.

After a very long day of cross country travel, delays, and only small airplane snacks for breakfast and lunch, I was ready for a big dinner after finally getting all checked in to my hotel. I asked the front desk for their recommendations, and of course they recommended a place next door and while it was fancy with an elaborate menu, my low blood sugar state was craving some serious high calories so I opted for Gino's as it was also very close to my hotel. When I entered the place, I was the only customer there. I wanted to order the lasagna, but the nice young lady taking my order mentioned it would take some time to prepare, so I asked what she suggests something big and won't take long to make and it was classic spaghetti & meatballs, so I ordered that. Five minutes after sitting down, the young lady brought me a huge Cesar's salad. I'm not a big salad guy, but this was delicious! The lettuce was very fresh and the sauce and croutons were surprising very tasty. It was so good, I had to compliment her for making such a nice salad. A few minutes later a good size plate of spaghetti & meatballs arrived and two large pieces of garlic bread. Everything was satisfyingly good. I dined on this feast for 45 minutes and made the short walk back to the hotel feeling great. It was so good, I went again the next day and tried the lasagna. That too was good sized and very delicious. Next time I'm in SLO, I'll definitely come back again.

I lived in SLO in 2020, and Gino's was my go-to pizza spot back then. I left for a few years, and now that I'm back, I can confidently say it's still my favorite pizza in town. Funny story--my husband and I got married during COVID, and at the time this was one of the only places open. We grabbed pizza here, and to this day he swears it's the best pizza in all of California. This visit was extra special because I got to share it with my three-year-old daughter. She absolutely loved it--especially the small arcade in the back, which was a fun little bonus and kept her entertained while we ate. The environment is great: plenty of parking, clean interior, lots of seating, and a very welcoming vibe. They offer a wide range of Italian dishes, but my go-to will always be the pepperoni pizza--just look at the pictures. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. Gino's never misses.

I got the Toledo sandwich. It was lukewarm. I prefer subway better. Just okay. Should have ordered the pizza instead.

What a pleasant surprise! I got Gino's special thinking it's be a regular old pizza. It looks like any old pizza joint in a college town so I wasn't expecting much. I came here because it was right next to my hotel. The pizza took a while, but it was delicious and huge! The sausage isnt the one you get at Pizza Hut, they were huge and they gave me a fork and knife. My favorite part though was the crust. So delicious and perfectly cooked!

When you're having a rough start to your day cuz your flight has been delayed..obviously the answer to your problem is pizza!! We got over to Gino's and Mario was basically the embodiment of the perfect 5 star Uber driver. He efficiently got our orders down, brought it out, and just made us happy with delicious food lol My friends all had a slice of pizza that were basically the size of a personal pizza anywhere else, a couple of salads, and I had an order of 3 spicy pepperoni pizza bites!! So good. Wish I could stop by more often lol

The servers were extremely friendly and helpful. The pizza and salad were delicious. Also the ambiance was great. We would definitely be eating here again soon.

Nice local spot, has the college vibe! Look at the solo cup lantern! Pizza is good but not super outstanding in my mind. Loved the crust, however, for being fold over and not super doughy. Fast service, in and out under an hour Loved the back area seating by bathrooms, easy to miss but nice and quiet. Reasonable prices!!! 5 of us had salad, doz chicken wings and pizza for $50 . That's reasonable these days!! We had 1/2 bbq Chkn and Maui Waui (Hawaiian pizza) but I'll say I'm good for another 5 years before I order Hawaiian again

I was pleasantly surprised by this pizza place. I've always driven by it and never thought to try it. The inside has a big space and seems much newer than I thought it was. They even have an arcade room. They have all the classic pizzas, and the margherita one was really good. I don't typically like whole tomatoes, but they were cooked so perfectly, it just added more flavor to the pizza. They are very generous with the toppings, and it is super convenient to cal poly campus! Staff was extremely helpful and even asked if we wanted ranch when he brought us our pizza.

Honestly we were debating on a few spots but I'm glad we chose Gino's the place was clean and spacious. Family oriented with video games and tv's. The young man at the counter greeted us once arriving. We had mentioned it was our first time and he answers our questions . We ordered a meat lovers pizza and some wings and lasagna . It was all delicious from beginning to the end. I will definitely be back and I do recommend this place for the whole family.

Our granddaughter at her game!! Go Cal Poly!!!!
    Gil G.

Ok let me say this is the first time being in this town!! My oldest granddaughter is a cheerleader for cal poly so she recommended this place!!! The ambiance is nice like a good pizza place should be!! Service was fast and they always had people helping with cleaning up as we finished our plates. We had a pepperoni pizza and an all meat pizza and spicy and non spicy wings!!! Omg!! It was very tasty!! It reminded me of Dante's back home!!! We will definitely be back to get them that 5th star!! If you are near this place in multiple locations be sure to check it out!! You won't be disappointed!!! I will put up a couple of pics I took!!

This pizza is sooooo good. Bbq chicken but we have tried others and loved them all. A little pricey but not anymore than any other local place.

I stopped by to grab a quick dinner while visiting the area. It was busy and there was quite a line to order, but it moved quickly. The Gino's Special pizza and Cinnamon Butter Bites were delicious. I will definitely visit again.

I was directed by some young men to check out a spot and when I did I realized it was your late night drunk pizza slice joint. Not what I wanted so I left there empty handed too. I was defeated and starving and was considering walking back to my hotel and door dashing junk when all of a sudden, a girl turns the corner of the block I'm standing at with a pizza box in her hands. I said "Yo girl where did you get that pizza from and are they still open!?" She said, "Antonia's and yes!" I told her I tried getting there before but my maps got me lost and she told me it was down by the Barnes and Noble, hidden from the street, which makes sense why I didn't see it on the main drag. So in I go, it's small, it's cute, it looks like people are making magic happen in the back. I am greeted by the owner of the place and I told him I wanted to order some pizza. I definitely came to the right place. They had a personal pizza, exactly what I wanted and so many options! I made small talk with the guy, told him I was from New York and he insisted I come back to let him know what I thought and then told me his pizza is very different from New York Pizza. So this is me coming back to tell you what I thought. You rock and your pizza ROCKS. I had trouble deciding which to get and he guided me. I went with the Margherita despite him telling me it was simple and straightforward. That's exactly what I wanted. He told me to get the SLO crust, which was a house made crust seasoned with herbs and spices, oregano and garlic, he insisted it had the most flavor the one I should go with, so I did. They had SO many crust options and pizza options like: meat lovers, Hawaiian, veggie, greek, mediterranean, bbq chicken and many more. I also ordered sweet potatoe fries which is so wild for me because I never do that but I was on vacation and this place gave me happy good vibes. He said it would be about 20 minutes so I took a walk and when I came back it was ready and like $35. Woof. I thought that was expensive kind of but also I ordered a pizza to myself and fries so I was just really hoping it was worth it. Spoiler alert: it was SO WORTH IT. I got back to my hotel, took the pizza and sweet potato fries and garlic sauce on the side went out onto my balcony and was in absolute vacation heaven. The pizza WAS SO GOOD and SO different. It was unlike any pizza I had ever had before and so not my style but I loved it. The crust was soft but thick and fluffy but also had crunch, the flavors were insane and the fresh basil on top delish. This was a specialty pizza place exactly what I wanted. The sweet potato fries were stupid. Probably the best sweet potatoes fries I have ever had. I am so glad that random girl turned the corner with the pizza box when she did. And this place is OPEN TIL 2 AM. Quality quality place. I hope this guy kills it, everyone go here.

We had our dog with us, and when we stopped in during the afternoon while walking around downtown, the hostess was incredibly pleasant and helpful. She was tall with dark hair and gave us a great recommendation on what time to come back for dinner before things got too busy. We really appreciated how welcoming she was. We came back later that evening and checked in for a table. The hostess working then, who had short brown hair, told us the wait would be about an hour, so we decided to wait. We walked around with our dog and came back to check on our table. When I asked about the wait, she told me in what felt like a very condescending and dismissive tone that we had about 45 minutes left. I mentioned that it had already been about 30 minutes, and she then corrected herself. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and that working a busy dinner shift can be stressful, but there's still a way to communicate with customers without making them feel like an inconvenience. Our table was eventually ready, and we were taken through an alley to the back patio with our dog. Unfortunately, there wasn't much interaction or warmth during that process--no "How is your evening?" or anything that made us feel particularly welcomed. That being said, the food itself was good, and our server was fine. The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was extremely busy, so I think they may simply need additional staff to keep up with the volume. We noticed people who arrived after us were we're going to have a two hour wait. Personally, I wouldn't wait that long. Overall, the food was good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but the customer service and extremely long wait took away from what was supposed to be a special anniversary evening. I think there is definitely room for improvement in how guests are treated while they're waiting.

We ended up pre-ordering online the night before and we got the Loaded Veg pizza. All they sell are whole 16" pies, which I don't mind since Pizza is my 3rd favorite food (behind sushi and Japanese bbq). I don't usually get veggie pizzas for 2 reasons. First of all, I love meat. Second, vegetables on pizza usually are mushy and don't taste fresh. I got it because my gf is pescatarian so it seemed like a good choice for both of us to share. I've had pizza at several notable places (thinking of Ceres NYC, Pizzeria Sei LA, Quarter Sheets LA, etc.). They brought the pizza box out to me, and I took a glance inside and knew I was about to feast. I didn't want to wait to get back to the hotel so my gf and I just sat in my trunk and ate it. There are very few restaurants where the first bite of food takes my breath away. I sat there in silence and proceeded to finish the whole slice in a matter of seconds while my gf and I just nodded with major satisfaction at one another. The dough was incredible (light, thin, crispy). The sauce and cheese ratio was perfect, not too overpowering, not too much, just the right amount as a base and glue to hold the toppings in place. The toppings (the veg), were fresh, vibrant, flavorful, purposeful. Everything was exploding with flavor, it was so simple, but so incredible. I wanted to run back inside and order another pizza but they were closing and I felt bad. We got a side of vegan ranch, it had fresh herbs and tasted so creamy, thick, and tangy despite being vegan. We demolished that pizza and the only thought I kept having was how much I wanted another one. The store is super cool, great music, cool lighting and vibes. The people are super polite, friendly, and professional. It legit felt like every single person in that place was happy to be there. More importantly, I think they were so passionate and saw their pizza creations as art. I would dream and aspire to have a place like this myself one day. I'm so sad this is so far away from OC (where I'm visiting from) because I genuinely want to eat this every week. I'll just have to drive up lol. Cheers to the team here, incredible work. You made my day. You gave me the opportunity to try the best thin slice pizza of my life thus far.

Entire Staff were quite friendly. We'll be back! Thank you!!!
