We've been to Gino's a few times now, and every time we've gone, it's been a lengthy wait to be served. We always really enjoy the atmosphere though. This time around due to COVID regulations, we were seated outside for dining. I know it would be nearly impossible to prevent environmental challenges, but we had flies buzzing around the whole time and it just makes for a really uncomfortable dining experience. I would suggest maybe setting some fly traps up in corners where they are not visible to customers? The dinner salads that are served with the meal are really good, and so is the garlic bread. The bruschetta was quite disappointing, soggy bread, huge tomato chunks and no flavor other than the balsamic drizzle that it was drenched in. We stopped here looking for a bite for my family on our road trip. The service and atmosphere was clean and calming and our waitress, Michelle, was the sweetest and very helpful. We ordered way to much because the portions were huge and the garlic bread serving was enough for a Thanksgiving dinner. I think the sides were the only disappointment because it was just pasta with sauce. I would have preferred some kind of vegetable side instead because between the garlic bread and my breaded eggplant Parmesan, I was so full! Came here on a Friday evening at 5:30 pm. They were moderately busy at that time and we were seated fairly quickly and given menus and water. And there we sat for twenty minutes while six or seven employees walked past, studiously ignoring us and my elderly mother-in-law's attempts to get someone's attention. I watched the people who were seated just before us have their orders taken and their drinks delivered while we sat expectantly with our menus closed. We finally gave up and left the table, which finally drew someone's attention. My wife family came to visit us in March 2023 they own an Italian restaurant in Foggia, Italy. And they wanted to try Gino's well we went and they ordered the lasagna with meatballs and a fish plate. And also a pizza they did not like the food. Their first impression was it does not taste Italian. It's frozen prepackaged, and they said that the pizza that supposedly Gino's says that they specialize was absolutely terrible and quite frankly they were insulted because of the quality of the food we didn't end up finishing our food as they wanted to leave and I was quite embarrassed not by my wife's parents, but the quality of the food not being to what it's supposed to be the owner of this restaurant needs to taste his food if he has any Italian blood in him!! will not be returning. people when you order your food, ask them if the food is fresh and ask if it's frozen or prepackaged because for instance, if you order a lasagna plate and you get it in 30 minutes that usually tells you that it's premade which means it is not fresh!!! my wife makes the same dish and it takes roughly 2 hours, and it is far far better than anything that Gino puts out.... Just bought dinner meat lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. At first I was excited to have the lasagna BUT when I opened it, it didn't feel like twenty bucks worth! I was unimpressed with the flavor with as you can see was little layers and more sauce, the fettuccine didn't have olive oil like it used too, the chicken was sliced thin and over cooked - didn't have flavor nor did it seem to be cooked with care and love like it used to be. He came took the order I didnt even get to order a drink he was so unpleasant. Got to go boxes before i was offered a refill on my water. If i go back I will make sure to get another server. Our son enlisted in the Army yesterday and when he finally got home from MEPS he was hungry. He wanted us to have a family dinner here where his girlfriend and best friend are working. The food was fabulous, the theming was beautiful and the staff were very friendly! We enjoyed the live music as well! We came on a Friday evening and the restaurant was incredibly busy and I have to give major credits to the entire staff for running like a well oiled machine! Awesome job everyone! This restaurant, is synonymous with amazing things in the AV like golden poppies, amazing aerospace innovations, and the once abundant alfalfa fields...,. As time has gone on, the one thing that I look most forward to in the AV is a big baron sandwich. It was the perfect blend of baked pizza dough with, different Italian meats, cheesees, light veggies, and heaven, taken straight out of an oven. It is like manna from Heaven, if God feeding the Antelope ValleyItes who were enslaved in the High Desert under an impressive regime...You can enjoy this creation of the gods with a side of marinara sauce, or the luscious side of ranch. Just imagine if the finest stock of cold cuts you ever envisioned, had epicurean intercourse with the most perfect calzone, the love child would be named Big Baron. Here is my experiences of the Palmdale location, but the food and service and accommodations are consistent in all three locations... I had the pleasure of planning a high school reunion with owner, Tony Peterson. Tony has been producing authentic Italian food in the AV for over 40 years. When it came to a bigger event, I had no idea how it would go, or what to expect. He can make a mean sandwich that is orgasmic, what can he do with a high school reunion. He helped me plan the menu, structure the agenda, and made amazing recommendations on appetizers and desserts. We went with the appetizers with some sliced pizza, and offspring of the big baron, followed by a delectable main course of tender and sweet Chicken Parmesan and plentiful and good Pasta Primavera Alfredo, with a light Caesar salad or delicious Garden Salad, with some of the most addictive garlic bread, you have ever eaten. All of this sprinkled with fresh Parmesan cheese. The desserts were equally elegant and tasty, from thinly sliced cheese cake to other light treats. We had over 120 people in the large banquet room in the Palmdale restaurant, with an outside patio and full bar. I will say that the room was crowded, but it was bustling with energy and vibrance. The food was delightful, the service was impeccable, and the restaurant treated us better than family. I have nothing but the greatest appreciation and admiration for Tony and Wanda Peterson, and their three locations. Besides visiting my in-laws in the AV, my first stop will always be Gino's Italian restaurant in Palmdale. Considering it is the beginning of the creation story of the most delightful and delectable Italian feast. What a sad experience! Took our 89 year old mom to what we thought would be a nice dinner. She was so cute and made the reservations. Didn't realize she made it at this location. We had planned on Palmdale Ginos. When we arrived with our reservation, we were told we'd have to wait 20 or more minutes for a booth. Sat at a table so near to the stage that we couldn't hear each other speak. Our waiter was completely overwhelmed and in need of more help!! My husband cancelled his drink after waiting 30 minutes. Took over 40 minutes to get our bread and salad. Asked for pepper and parmesan which didn't arrive after 3 requests. Finally asked another server to get it. Our food finally came and we were pretty much DONE with Ginos at that point. I had to hold my husband back from making a scene. He was so upset and embarrassed having his mom at a place with such terrible service! Our waiter apologized and said mgmt. would give us free dessert. I thought...YAY angry Husband was at least getting chocolate cake to go. When we got home and opened the bag...no chocolate cake or cannoli!! We instead got cheesecake and tiramisu which we did not care for, or ask for. WOW!! Pretty much our worst restaurant experience EVER!! How is it that no one in California makes Sicilian square pie, and the pie you do make are not Browning on the back they are too thick, especially around the edges none of you ever thought of calling a pizza guy in NYC. Square pies are similar to the deep dish pie. It's easy with the right people to make decent pizza California like NYC can be The capitol place on The West coast to make Pizza you, even though you cater more to Spanish and Mexicans, You have calzones, no sausage rolls. The young woman who greeted me said they were almost done with it, it will be a few minutes. Okay, no problem, I sit down. I see under the heat lamp a pizza box, with 2 other orders. A person comes in, she hands him his order from the heat lamp. After 10 minutes of sitting there, I finally went back to the counter. She looks at me. I tell her I've been here for 10 minutes already. Is that my pizza sitting under the lamp all this time? The look on her face was definite upset! She steps over to the heat lamp, gets my pizza, places it on the counter closest to her, then rudely pushes it toward me!! I said "Seriously"? She says "What? Do you want a manager now!?" Gino's has wonderfully well made Italian food! This location also has a classical stage for music, performances, and theatrical events! The atmosphere is very Italian and although somewhat expensive you'll get a good meal here. One of the better restaurants in the AV they also have a few other locations around town that have food, music, art, etc. I recommend these places for a good time! Was disappointed in my service today, and will not be back to this location, the waitress was rude and does not handle issues, I had ordered a glass of wine off the menu, it was a Chardonnay priced at $8, however when they brought me my receipt they had charged me $10, when I questioned the waitress, she told me that she gave me a different wine because they were out of what I ordered, I was never informed of this, then when I mentioned the price difference, she told me the menu was wrong. Why are you handing out menus with incorrect prices??? They only had one soup when the other locations have at least 2, I have a food allergy so I could not eat the soup or salad that came with my meal. The whole place was empty and now I know why.
