I'll try and make this short because wow so much wrong and upsetting about this place. My husband and I plus our three kids went out to dinner. We ordered apps, bento boxes and seven rolls. Five more groups sat down after us we get our edamame and seared tune (over seared on the verge of cooked). Other groups get their food we are still waiting. They finally bring a miso soup and salad. Tip: Pass on the miso soup. An hour and 10 mins since we have walked it : New couple comes in. 10 mins they had sushi rolls and hot food...... When I asked the lady why everyone else has been served even the couple that came in she said, " we know them". WHAT so because you know them you feed them over kids. She tried to give me a ton of other excuses! " Well that other group ordered something from the kitchen". Um so did we... " The waitress missed putting your order in". Even all never Togo orders were filled before us. We paid for our drinks and apps and went to Panda Express! I do not recommend the clear soup or the fried rice. Both could not be blander. The clear soup looked like dirty dish water and tasted like someone took a pot of water and put a dash of soy sauce in it. Clear soup is supposed to have an umami flavor with hints of vegetables, stock and ginger. Although the soup is clear, there is a lot of depth if done right. This by far is the worse soup I've ever had of any kind. I've made this many times, and it takes skill to make this soup. I encourage management to taste and do quality checks for all your food because - the fried rice was a waste as well. Went into the garbage because if I'm going to eat carbs, I want it to count. The same person that made the soup probably made the fried rice. White rice with a dash of soy sauce. Japanese food is so much more than that. read more

My favorite food is sushi and I just moved here from a mecca for Asian cuisine. Much to my chagrin even though New Bern is by the water and has plenty of access to fresh fish, it's hard to find a decent sushi joint. After hitting up Sake, Musashi, and Sanuki, Ginza was hands-down the best. The service, variety of fish, and quality were leaps and bounds over any other sushi place in the area. If you're as serious about sushi as I am, this is pretty much the only place to get quality sushi in this area. read more

Great sushi! It doesn't look like much on the outside. It's in a Walmart strip mall and pretty small with dark windows but you won't be disappointed with the food. The sushi is by far the best in New Bern PLUS you can BYOB! read more

Very pleased. This order was to - go. The woman I spoke to on the phone is very kind. With a passion for animals & their rights, this meal was vegan, & to have a restaurant accommodate makes me happy. The chef did great- order consisting of avocado peanut roll, oshinko roll, udon noodles, veggie dumplings. Mean delivered through an app called orange crate. New Bern has a relatively new restaurant it can be proud of. I don't live in New Bern, but have some great friends that do and on my most recent visit I had the pleasure of having lunch with them at Ginza Japan. Excellent experience overall. Great deals on lunch specials and service was fast, polite and attentive. I ordered the seaweed salad and the octopus salad along with a couple pieces of sashimi. The orders came quickly although I did get the wrong fish on the sashimi. I ordered mackerel and was given tuna. There was some slight confusion as I do not speak Japanese, but the order was quickly corrected - no harm no foul. My other friends enjoyed some unagi rolls along with seared tuna and a lunch box. All the food was well displayed and the lunch box looked to be a great deal for the money. Many of the other diners were eating what appeared to be other lunch specials of teriyaki dishes with rice. Those too were well presented. Overall I think New Bern got lucky with this one and it does appear to be quite authentic. read more

Very good dinner. I came by to eat one evening and no one was in the restaurant, obviously a little nervous I ordered the dragon roll, and steak and jumbo shrimp grill with fried rice. All of it was very good. The white sauce was delicious and the dragon roll was very good. All and all it's a great Japanese restaurant for this area. The steak was very small and the dragon roll had very little eel. Beyond that my dinner was good. The one waitress was very polite and always checked up on me. I'll be back. read more

By far the best sushi in New Bern!! I have enjoyed most of the chefs rolls I have tried, but my favorites are the Spicy girl roll and the Sexy roll. Also try the Pink Lady, soooo good!! Definitely get a tuna bomb as an appetizer, it is heavenly. The atmosphere is not fancy, and the rolls that I like are pricey (only because I always like to try 2 different rolls even though I can't finish them). Holy cow. Okay, so we went here Christmas day for lunch. The Chicken (Hibachi and Teriyaki, we tried both) was fine, but nothing special...but the SUSHI?! OHhhhh man. We split some kind of Dragon roll...it was served HOT! And the most amazing sushi I have ever tasted. I wish I had ordered it for my entree and been able to eat the whole thing instead of having to share! The miso soup and sushi are amazing, as well as the green tea and the ramune (a type of Japanese soda). The service is always friendly, and there isn't a terrible wait for the food. The meal started great. We were a party of 6. I ordered 3 rolls (one had lobster). Another person ordered the hibachi steak and lobster. I ate a piece of my lobster sushi roll and immediately it tasted off. I'm not sure what I thought but it had an almost chemical taste. I don't like to waste so are 6 of the 8 pieces before I couldn't anymore. The person who also ordered lobster finally stated their lobster tasted chemical as well. I realized then the problem was the lobster and not me. We smelled it and it smelled of ammonia. We called the waitress over and instead of hearing out our claims of spoiled lobster she was very defensive and said they get their lobster fresh, arrived the day before. Maybe it was a bad batch but the quality of this lobster was not suitable for consumption. I would give 3 stars but how the situation was handled was poor and the attitude was unnecessary. Everything BUT the lobster was delicious. Lesson. If you taste your food and it doesn't seem fresh or right, notify the manager. read more

This place is by far the best Sushi around New Bern. The good is delicious and the staff are very nice. The sushi chef is willing to alter any roll to accommodate your wants. New sushi place in New Bern. I was in town for the holidays visiting with the girlfriends Family and we all decided to try out this new restaurant. The presentation was spectacular. Some of the dishes I wouldn't want to mess up. I had the vegetable tempura for an appetizer. It was tasty and I had no complaints. I order for a main dish the Sexy roll. The was a delightful surprise. A complicated roll with a banana topping. And for desert the banana tempura. It was delicious and was not over sweet. My other dining companions ordered this after seeing mine. The only reason I wouldn't give this a five star is all to deal with the restaurant it self. The music was a bunch of the 90s romance soundtracks like Titanic and distracted from the feel of the place. The dishes also were not served together. As in all appetizers and main dishes served together or relatively close together. Overall however I think this is a great sushi place and the sushi chef knows his business. read more

The Bento Box was exactly a box full of flavor. The beef was juicy and tender. The Tuna Sushi tasted very fresh. The guys preparing the food were very meticulous making sure the food taste good, looks good and presentable. The ladies taking care of the tables were very nice, smiling and friendly. They went the extra mile for me as I forgot the copy of my receipt (which is much needed in order for me to make my company expense report) and they sent me a copy by email.
