I wish they had a location in South county but I was out as a local park and thankfully this was on the way home. It's not the vibe of the city location but the sandwich was the same and delicious. The parking lot to get into the place is more of a mess than the promenade, and the person who came after me parked so close to me I was worried to back out. Service was quick and nice, Mac salad was good. I'd love a pesto macaroni salad too, more sides in general because they make the meal in my opinion. Love Gioia's forever. read more

I ordered the Italian Trio (standard garlic cheese bread) and the Turkey sandwich (white bread) and both sandwiches are layered on really thick with meat proportionate to the bread. On the day of, I ate half of the Italian Trio, and the garlic cheese bread was a tasty treat to standard deli sandwiches (I LOVE GARLIC!). The next time I ate the other half of the Italian Trio, the flavor had settled into the bread, and it was even better! I tried half of my Turkey sub the next day for lunch and it was good! However, I felt I could have skipped the pepperoncini - it didn't need it. I was a bit bummed that there were no chips on the menu via Uber Eats but I did order a chocolate chip cookie. We have tried the other Gioias. This one just seemed disappointing. I had the meatball sandwich. It's always good. Meatballs are juicy and make for a good sandwich. My husband had the Italian beef. The beef was just basic. Not a lot of meat for the price. He ordered pepperoncini's, just a small amount.. Just seemed slim for the price this time. Service was good. Greeted at the door as soon as we walked in. Quick to order. I ordered the smaller sub, but he rang up the large. Not a big deal, I saved the second half for lunch the next day. If you like salami, this is simply the best salami that will pass your lips. Been getting sandwiches from the Berra Park location for years and now from Valley Park. I am a big fan of the Porknado, but also like the Hogfather and the Spicy Daggett. Foodie daughter #2 loves the Meatball and the straight Salami. Load'em up with all the fresh ingredients and it is a satisfying meal. Service is quick and orders are always correct. The Valley Park location is small with eat-in space for about 20+ patrons. Parking can be a bit of a hassle when the other stores are busy, but who cares if you are getting great food and the vibe is good. read more

Well, everyone knows this is the one of the worst parking lots ever. But you won't even care after you've eaten here. I had totally forgotten about their original location on the Hill--now I can report that Gioia's is one of the very best delis no matter which location. A lot of the sandwiches are a meat-lovers paradise, but I prefer the simpler hot roast beef (on cheese garlic bread is 100% worth the upcharge). Added pepperoncini makes this a 10/10 for me! We decided to try this new location since it was so close. Sadly it shares a building with a Starbucks so parking was tough as well walking to the store dodging the drive thru traffic. We were there, I though, well enough past lunch time to avoid a crowd but I was wrong. The place was packed with about a third of the crowd waiting for their order, a third seated packing all the tables, and a third in line to order. The order takers were much quicker than the folks making the sandwiches but I guess that would be expected. An order number was being called out about every minute so the sandwich folks must know what they are doing. We had about a 15 min wait to get our two. We both liked what we got. I chose the Hot Salami and Roast Beef. My wife just a roast beef. The car smelled wonderful on the way home. The sandwiches were well worth the wait. There was no leftovers for a later meal like planned. The parking was the only issue. I think I will take another customers process: order online and head over to pick up and go. read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I can remember picking up a delicious fresh sub on The Hill and walking over to the park to enjoy it. Came into this location today and what a disappointment. The quality is down, no love in the food anymore, slow service (not that I care about speed of service when it comes to quality), just an expensive, glorified subway. As you can see I don't usually write reviews but I felt so strongly about this I had to. I wish I had a before picture to show you what quality you used to get, all I can show you is what we got recently. Nearly $20 for this. Just lost a 10 year customer. My family and I won't be back, we'll travel out to Blue City Deli instead, or maybe Amighettis. Shame, real shame. read more

Next time I am going to try something else because honestly it was hard to make a decision- everything sounded so yummy. The cashier was very friendly and helpful as it was our first time and we had questions. The wait was a lil bit but they were busy & new so it is a bit expected! The parking lot is a bit busy, it is shared with Starbucks & a dental office! The restaurant was very clean & new. Pretty good seating space but kind of a smaller establishment. I went to the Valley Park store, I usually go to The Hill location. I ordered a roast beef and cheese on garlic bread. I was very dissatisfied. Very little roast beef and very thin sandwich. I then drove to Gioias on The Hill with this sandwich to replace, and unfortunately ended up close to the same size. The cost of this small sandwich was $17. Better of going to Arby's. After that went to Eovaldis and got a real roast beef 'On The Hill' sandwich twice the size and two drinks for $15. Thank you Eovaldis. read more
