Went to this location and was surprised it was counter service since the one I have in Indy is sit down with a much different atmosphere...wasn't horrible of an experience, the food was good and hot and the workers brought it out quickly. They were also accommodating. One girl who worked there was much friendlier than the other girl. Not to say the other girl wasn't friendly, buuuuut I'm a stickler for service from people actually looking like they want you in their establishment lol. It's maybe such a big ask but idk. I think it's the bare minimum. Overall, an "okay" experience. Some things were good, like the food, and others not so much. And the bathroom was disgusting when I went in but honestly that's just because some people are disgusting so it was just my luck of the draw....

Came here for dinner while visiting the area. Some of our party were first timers. Loved that this location was a hop & skip away from where we were staying. We were immediately greeted & seated. Luckily, it was not very busy. We ordered the classic and a salad. A must order every time we visit Chicago.

When in Chicago, you gotta get a deep dish! Giordano's is definitely a Chicago staple. My sisters and I got the 10' chicken sausage deluxe topped with mushrooms and spinach. It was so yummy. I would also like to comment on how amazing the cheese pull was after the first bite. In addition to that, we also got calamari. The pizza does take 40 mins to make, but that's because they make it fresh to order, so we highly recommend getting an appetizer. The service was great, and they were also very attentive. The vibes were also great, it's a good place to watch some sports since they have multiple TV's. If you want to bring a pie back home, they have frozen pizzas you can order so you can take home a pie of Chicago with you!

Ordered some pizza and salad here while on our quick trip to Chicago. It wasn't busy, so we were able to get sat right away. The way this place works is you order at the counter and then find a seat. As with most deep dishes, the pizza took about 30 minutes to come out. The pizza hit the spot, especially from someone who comes from LA where deep dish is not as easy to find. They have a lot of takeout pizzas that are frozen too for you to enjoy at home if you prefer.

I ordered an extra crispy crust tavern pizza with sausage and peppers. What I got was a BURNT pizza with barely any sauce. I've had better grocery bought frozen pizza. So disappointing. Love their deep dish.

Everytime the family visits Chicago, getting an authentic deep dish pizza is an absolute must. The two best places are UNO and Giordano's, but Giordano's never disappoints! This was the first time our boys had been to Chicago and had this, but it was just as good as I remember from several years ago. When you arrive, you will place your order and then seat yourself. We called ahead to get the food started. Plan to sit and chat for a while or do the same because it takes a long time for the pizza to cook (think 40-60 minutes). While we waited, we tried the appetizer tray and it had a good assortment of items that appealed to different people in our party. However the pizza was the star of the show, as it should be! Hot, meaty, saucy, and delicious just like deep dish should be. Don't get too optimistic and overorder. The medium pizza can easily feed four and give leftovers....you get full fast. Whenever I come to Chicago, I stop for deep dish and Giordiano's is a definitely winner!

Went to giordanos for dinner with my family and I haven't been to this locations in years. It's been remodeled and has more seating available. All orders are placed at the counter and brought out to you. We got a deep dish pizza and calamari. Everything was good. I will definitely be coming back.

Came all the way from Florida to try the famous Chicago deep dish pizza and it didn't disappoint! The attention and service was amazing, made us feel so welcomed and even did the cutting and melted cheese demonstration for us. Great spacious place great to come with the whole family and have a great meal together!

Nothing quite like deep dish pizza from a well known Chicago spot. While on my way out from a weekend visiting the Windy City and we'd have been loathe to miss a chance to have lunch! We stopped by this newer location - and they were very nice to let us know that this was a newer location with a newer staff and we were fine being patient! We got The Special pizza with a the house salad and really, really enjoyed our time. The staff was also nice enough of us to let us know that deep dish takes about 45 to cook - which was WORTH THE WAIT! Love deep dish style pizza and this pie was no exception. The crust was buttery was delicious, the sauce was fantastic, the cheese was perfect and loved how chock full the pizza was with toppings. Absolutely stunning. I made my way through 2 slices and then had to tap out - delicious. Big fan and definitely recommend!

Favorite deepdish in the city! Excellent sauce, cheese, crust and toppings. Tried tavern style too. Very good, but nowhere near the deepdish.

    Meat lovers!

One of the best deep dish pizzas in Chicago!! Get the meat lovers pizza you wont be disappointed! We ordered a small for 2 people it was enough for us and we even had leftovers for the next day! *chefs kiss*

The food is generally solid, and usually the service is pretty good. But today??? Holy crap, the service was awful. It was not busy at all (I came in around 3:45 in the afternoon). Stood for about 5 minutes waiting to be seated, despite two employees being within 10 feet. I finally was seated, and I ordered a Diet Coke which came promptly, then waited at least 15-20 minutes for someone to take my order. My waitress (short, dark hair in a bun) just stood around chatting with other employees, wandering around, etc. I think I was the only customer in the dining room, but they just completely ignored me. I finally walked up to the bar and asked to pay for my diet Coke, as I had no intention of waiting around forever to order food. I probably could have just walked out without paying without them even noticing, given how inattentive the employees were, but I'm too honest to do that. I really hope this was just a one-off and that the service overall hasn't gone downhill consistently over the last 6 months or so. But I was super disappointed at how bad the service sucked today, given that there were about 7 times as many employees as there were customers when I went. I'm giving 2 stars in recognition of previous good experiences I've had here, but today's experience....ooof. Do better, Rockwell's.

My son and his girlfriend have been there many times, and insisted we get the whipped ricotta appetizer and kale salad. Both of these items were top notch, as were the cocktails and we enjoyed. The pasta bolognese that the ladies ordered was delicious. My son had the burger and fries, and it was fine, just not very special. I ordered the "half" chicken, thinking as a bird themed restaurant, the only poultry entree would be a star, but that was not the case. A small thigh and half of a breast was their interpretation of a half chicken, and this was noted on the menu, but the portion was disappointing. The dish was supposed to to be accompanied by polenta with trumpet mushrooms, but two paltry slices of mushroom with a small smear of polenta completed the dish which "artfully" only occupied the left half of the plate, leaving the rest of the plate bare. Small portions aside, the dish was overly salty, to the point I had dry mouth the rest of the night, and the chicken was overcooked. The taste was fine, and the little bit of polenta added enough moisture to make the dish work. The worst thing was the incredibly dull dinner knife that couldn't cut through the mushroom, let alone the chicken, causing me to apply the stab and pull/tear method to get bite sized pieces. Everything thing else was superb. I would go back for the cocktails and appetizers, perhaps grazing the appetizers and a salad as a dinner. The pastas all looked terrific, but I will probably steer clear of the four mains on the menu, as they seem to be the least inspired items to order.

I think it's a super fun nostalgic play on the classic Spaghetti O's. Of course these were way better, with the vodka sauce and meatballs. We left, but ended up going back after 5 minutes to ask if we could just sit at the bar to order a drink while we waited. The hosts were super friendly and allowed us to do that, even though I think bar seating was part of the reserved seating. A couple minutes after we ordered our drinks, the friendly hostess came and let us know there was a cancellation so we could be seated at a table right away. To drink, I ordered the Secret Third Thing and it was delicious. Along with the Spaghetti Uh-O's, we also ordered the cabbage, which is cooked until it is tender and served almost like a caesar salad. Moody, fine dining Filipino restaurant in ravenswood/north center Chicago…read more The experience of this place really starts when you enter the restaurant. I was a big fan of the interior. Dark moody lighting with warm colored lamps really sets the tone for the meal you are about to eat. Service was incredibly kind and attentive. Everyone's so lovely. The food is exactly what you'd expect - elevated Filipino and overall INCREDIBLE. Here's what we got/my thoughts. Coco ginger daiquiri - 5/5 - really refreshing. You could taste each component of the drink which was fun to experience. Sisig - 4/5 - I'll start by saying I'm really particular about my sisig. For sisig to be a 5 for me, it *has* to be crunchy. And that's the only thing this sisig was missing. For coming out on a sizzling plate, it was a little too wet, even after the sizzling. Despite this though, the flavors were there and they were delicious. Garlic rice - 5/5 - best garlic rice I've ever had in my life. Just get it. That's all I have to say. Pancit canton - 4/5 - if I'm being honest, it's hard to really elevate pancit canton. But this was a good attempt, it just seemed to be missing something to put it over the top. Really appreciated the fresh vegetables with the noodles. Lumpia - 5/5 - like pancit canton, it seems hard to elevate lumpia but they freaking did it. This was so good. The filling was nice and juicy and had great flavor. Kare Kare - 5/5 - Kare Kare was my favorite dish growing up but I've never experienced it elevated to such a high level until boonies. The meat was so tender, cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The vegetables being carmelized was also quite the treat. Didn't realize until after the fact that the sauce isn't made with peanuts, so huge plus that gives our peanut allergic friends the opportunity to experience such an amazing dish. So well done.

This was a great, cozy spot to try a different take on Filipino food. Being a Filipina myself, I'm…read moretorn between labeling it because I feel like some of the dishes are more Filipino-inspired while others are definitely elevated-Filipino. Either way, it's a good place to try a twist on your favorites or dip into something new. I especially appreciated that there were a lot of vegetarian options which is hard to find in Filipino food, like our "veggie" lumpia usually has small bits of meat in it, lol. We were warmly welcomed, seated relatively quickly, and the service was attentive and timely. The place is cozy and on the dark side so my pics aren't the greatest. We had the Inihaw ng Talong which is basically grilled eggplant that came brushed with sunflower butter, loaded with tomatoes and garnished with cilantro. This was a nice start but a small one. The eggplant was smoky and creamy and complimented by the bright tomatoes. The Satti Manok, skewered grilled chicken, with cornbread sticky rice was good, but I've definitely had better for a lot less. This is usually a staple you'll find at any Filipino family's BBQ but the cornbread sticky rice was a surprisingly nice treat. If you've had this before, somewhere else, I'd skip it to try something else. The Sinigang Caesar was such a nice twist that totally made sense! My only complaint is that it was served with Bibb lettuce instead of a crunchy romaine. I enjoyed this so much I've been making my Caesar dressings with a sprinkling of Sinigang powder now and my family loves it. The Kare Kare gulay was nice and I enjoyed it. The charred cabbage gave it some extra depth that I think is needed to pull this off because this sauce is made with sunflower butter instead of peanut butter. This was great for me because I'm allergic to peanuts but it definitely changes the flavor, making it a little sweeter and lighter. I wish they would've made this with cashew or almond butter to keep it closer to the rich, deep flavors of a Kare Kare. The Maitake mushrooms -- I absolutely loved. I've never had this before and it reminded me of a good Laing which is also made with a spiced coconut sauce. I definitely could've eaten this all to myself with the garlic rice. Yes, the garlic rice is good but I was surprised to see it go for $6 a bowl. Rice is usually so cheap, if not complementary in Filipino restaurants and garlic rice is quite common, especially for breakfast (yes, I sabreakfast). It was cooked perfectly though. The mango float was delicious. Not sure why it's called a float but it was mango and mascarpone ice cream nestled in a mango sauce and topped with a delicate, crumbly butter cookie. I will definitely come back for more if I'm ever in the area again. I'd be excited to try other things on their menu.
