In town for the week and we've been to the grocery store across the parking lot from Giordano's a couple of times. The restaurant looked good so we decided to come for dinner tonight. Our group was welcomed and seated immediately, and our server was quick to greet us and take drink orders. I'd found a coupon for a free appetizer (cheesy garlic bread, yum!) in one of the local visitor guides, so she put that in the kitchen right away. We decided on a deep dish pizza and salads. The deep dish takes about 30 minutes, so be prepared. But with the cheesy bread and salads there was no rush and our table was happy. The service was great all night, our gal was friendly and just the right amount of attentive with check-ins and refills. Oh my- the pizza is delicious!! And the starter portion of salads are generous, I had the Greek salad and with crisp romaine and all sorts of Greek toppings (kalamata olives, feta, etc) it was perfect. So I'll summarize for everyone in the beginning if you want to read the rest feel free. 1) food took over 45 min to come including the salid. 2) waitress was a liar 3) everything and I mean everything was practically unedible. Finally after seeing tables around us getting their food I asked the waitress is our food on it's way? She tells me the deepdish takes over 45 min to make... I own an Italian restaurant in CT... I don't expect to be lied to about how long it takes to make a pizza. After I asked her about our food, Magically I got my Cesar salad (goes that take 45min as well) and baby got her baby pizza. At least it resembled a pizza. I truely have no idea what that was. A cracker with some ketchup on it maybe? I can't even describe what kind of cheese it was. Because honestly I've never tasted mozzarella like that.. And my 2yearold couldn't even stomach a single bite.. and pizza is literally her favorite thing to eat. I asked the waitress doesn't my salad come with bread? She tells me no you have to pay for bread for the table. Italian place that doesn't give bread? And some spaghetti with the same Walmart brand sauce (probably the same place they got the chicken Patty and cheese) It honestly looked microwaved... Again literally everything we got came extremely late. And not at the same time, And was 99% unedible, Our waitress was practically useless, And a liar... Drinks took forever. I asked for the check (that came quick) we went to Burger King right after. Honestly the crispy chicken sandwich tastes better than the chicken patty I had at this place... This is probably the only time I've never left a good tip because like I said I own a restaurant and I understand things happen. We have had it in Chicago, where it was voted the best pizza in a city famous for pizza... this was $50 worth of medium pizza and salad that I would have rather spent anywhere else. Very. Very. Displeased. We also bought a Greek side salad for 12.00 and they didn't even bother to put any red wine vinegar on it Oh, and an hour and a half delivery quote was two hours. Last night, we wanted pizza. Looked for something that could be delivered to a Disney Resort, Animal Kingdom specifically. Could not have picked a better pizza restaurant. Out of multiple trips to Disney and multiple pizza delivery orders, this is by far the best that we have found. I was not crazy about the spices with the cheese bread, but the Chicago Deep Dish All Meat pizza is the bomb. I would say that it the best pizza that I have had, and that includes from some of the New York City pizzerias. We also ordered a Caesar Salad with a delicious lemon vinaigrette dressing. I am not generally a vinaigrette fan, but this was likewise excellent. We had a couple of other regular crust pizza, but the Deep Dish was the master product. The homemade chocolate chip cookies made for a sweet finish to the meal. A slice of the Deep Dish for breakfast lost none of the prior night's deliciousness. This will be on our radar for future trips. read more

While visiting Orlando the wife and I drove past Giordano's. Our first thought was Giordano's pizza in Chicago. So long story short: We checked-in our room and placed a delivery order. There were a couple of things that made me think twice about ordering. First, the call was answered with: "Giordano's, can you please hold". After a couple of minutes a different person came on to order. We place our order and give the full name of the hotel we're staying in. Everything seems fine up to this point. I headed out to buy some other things and receive a call from the restaurant. They need our full address as they're not sure if they deliver to us or not. I head back to the hotel (not very far at this point) to get the full address. I tell the person on the phone that since I'm out and about already I can just pick it up, they're right down the street from me. (about 5 miles). This insist that they deliver to our hotel and they just want to make sure since there's a lot of Holiday Inn locations nearby. Fast forward about 30 minutes (about an hour after the first call). I get another call from the driver. He tells me that he's in the lobby. It's obvious that he's not bringing the pizza up to the room. So I head downstairs and over to the main building to meet the driver. What we end up with a marginally good pizza. The wife is disappointed. I'm simply hungry but a bit disappointed. The toddler, who loves anything that even looks like pizza, is not very enthusiastic about this pizza. Bottom line: I've never expected a good pizza from anyplace in Florida. Me and my boyfriend ordered the small and we still had two slices to take home. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. Only thing we didn't like about it was the fried banana peppers we kept eating mistaking it for calamari. Other than that everything was delicious. Our order came to $70. 1 large pepperoni pizza, two orders of 8count wings ALL FLATS and a personal pizza. This place is overpriced. The food arrived cold, we received a cheese pizza with no sauce, 7 count wings not all flats and the personal pizza had no cheese or sauce on it, it was just bread. We called the store and spoke to a man named Dwight who gave us nothing but attitude and all we wanted was what we ordered or our money back. I have a real love/hate relationship with this place. I have been coming for over ten years and have probably eaten everything on the menu (various menus as they change). The pizza is the number one thing anyone should come here for, as it is simply great. I am a die hard New Yorker, but I have a secret love for this cheesy overload. Chicago has given us a few great things in history, and it's pizza is a good quarterly treat. Don't be alarmed by the high price on the pizza, as the average human should not consume more than two pieces at a time without feeling it later. A small pizza is more than enough for two adults and a child...with possible leftovers. The rest of the menu is OK, and it seems that when I like something, it gets 86'd for life. The service is hit or miss, with it being more on the miss side. I am not sure if it is owners, or owner's family, but some of the team simply do not understand hospitality. One of the biggest turn offs is the mumbling when I am picking up an order, but then they turn to flirt or joke with someone else working. I guess it is what you expect from a pizza joint. I have also seen them throwing dough up in the air and against the back wall/shelves. They have sworn that this is sanitary and for "show," but really it is just gross. Certainly worth a stop if you are an out of town family or local. This is the kind of place that you will eat four times and it will be great, but the 5th will make you forget the first four.
