The food is very good and the atmosphere is somewhat upscale but can be noisy. Service was adequate , we started with two gin martini's and they were not on par with an upscale place. My second drink which was a lavender cocktail was very good. The meatball appetizer is one of the very best I've had . I would definitely have that again. The lasagna was very good and very large portion. Others in my party were very satisfied with their dishes of chicken Marsala , roasted chicken, and a shrimp dish. Any Italian restaurant should be serving Italian bread with your order, without charging more was our feeling. Some of use ordered salad and were pleased. One of us ordered soup and was meh, very little to it in the line or vegetables or rice and quite salty. What a great place to enjoy a nice dinner. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the cuisine. It us very evident that they themselves dine here frequently. Their personal appearance is professional and meticulous. They were attentive without hovering and we enjoyed every minute of their service. Cuisine is absolutely authentically Italian- so delicious and reminded me of my Italian grandparents' cooking! We ordered the Gios meatballs for an appetizer (omg divine) and split the Caesar salad. My husband ordered the Sorrento dish with chicken as a Napoleon stack of crispy eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella and I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, which was delicious!! We have been to Gio's twice in the last two months as we just bought a house in Myrtle Beach. This is absolutely the best Italian restaurant we have been to since coming to the area. The restaurant is easy to get to it and has ample parking, the inside and outside of the restaurant are beautifully decorated. The staff are very friendly and professional. The menu is very eclectic and the quality of food for the price is well worth it. They have excellent cocktails and a great wine list as well as wines by the class. Wow! A gem in Myrtle beach! The ambiance was nice and the service was great ! I would suggest making reservations ahead of time because they were pretty busy. We were in town celebrating my brother's birthday and this was a perfect choice . The food was pipping hot. We started with the mussels in the spicy sauce the sauce was amazing! I could only imagine it over pasta. The lobster ravioli was great I added shrimp. All the dishes were reasonably priced and they had a fish of the day choice which was red snapper. Our party of 8 was easily accommodated. Large private parking lot. We ordered drinks, apps and entrees. We tried a little of it all, even having vegetarians dining with us. We loved our waitress. Went in and ordered carryout then sat at the bar to wait. 35 minutes later cashed out at the bar and went back to the host stand to find out where my food was. Hostess checked and came back to tell me it had just gone into the pan. Ended up getting my food about 45 minutes after I ordered. The manager/owner who brought the food out of the kitchen said something about the chef processing orders as they come in but didn't provide a reasonable explanation. That's understandable but the restaurant was not full. Busy but not full. Salad was good, bread was good, Alfredo was bland. Responding to the owner - I was not told my order would take 30 minutes. Excellent Italian food and drinks. The Spaghetti Bolognese is one of the best I've had, and the burrata salad to start was delicious. Great service too. It is very noisy though, which was a downside as we were trying to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in years, and it was difficult to hear them. read more

We can hear based on a recommendation of a friend. The food was so delicious and flavorful. My favorite was the spaghetti because you could taste the flavors in every single bite. Some of the best Italian food I have ever had. My only complaint would be that the service was a bit slow but that wouldn't stop me from coming back in the future, bc everyone is short staffed these days. It is an upscale restaurant and they have a reputation to maintain so it's very reasonable they ask for business casual dress. Everyone usually brings one nice outfit to the beach anyway! read more

Went here on Tuesday September 24th 2024, with my family and some friends as part of our South Carolina vacation. We were a party of 6, and they accomoddated us right away. We sat in a table in a corner, which was comfortable and fine. The chairs were also comfortable as well. First thing i saw when i sat down, they have mixed drinks and cocktails! I immediately ordered their blue hawaiian, when the server got there. Our server was Enzo, and he was very nice and professional, checked if we were okay, checked on our meals. As far as other drinks, my mom got the peer punch, 2 people got beers, and one got a wine. I very much enjoyed my blue hawaiian, and it tasted really good! We also had waters too, which were filled up constantly, and the waiter even brought pitchers of water over to our table, and left it on there so we can refill the water if we need. As a starter, one serves bread here, and it comes with a balasmic oil dip for dunking. Bread was also fresh and delicous! For Food, i was first unsure on what to get, but i settled on the Penne Ala Vodka, and i got that with Chicken since Enzo asked, and it is important to have a protein if one wants, My dad got the scallops and shrimp, my mom got a chicken dish with pasta, someone had a lobster ravoli, and others got great food. some of the food did come with a salad. Food was very good, and the pasta was very tasty, as well as the chicken was tender. Overall enjoyed this place. We got the check in an efficient manner, paid via credit card and left a cash tip. We stayed and talked, and closed the restaurant, literally. Restrooms were also very clean! But overall, hope to be back next trip, as this is a definite must stop! read more

We have been going here since it opened and had just a disappointing meal. Their meatballs are so tiny you can't see them. Flavor is spot on but cmon guys make at least a full-size meatball. My son ordered the charcuterie board, but did not read what was on it assuming it was gonna be assorted meats and cheese. Well, it was three slices of thin prosciutto and five squares of brie and a small dish of fig jam. I've never in my life had a charcuterie board with just two items and the cheese was brie. I ordered the grilled romaine salad, which wasn't grilled, and had 3 small scallops!! 3 for the add-on price?? The Veal and Chicken Parm were very good as was the soup. Kitchen service was really slow and the place was fairly empty for a Friday Night. We will stick with Gios in Pawleys!!! read more

Went there for my birthday dinner. The Salad hardly filled the bowl. Blue cheese dressing was very thin, no chunks of blue cheese. How difficult is it to offer a nice salad. Grated cheese from a can. Not fresh shaved parmesan. My lasagna was ok. The penne pasta barely had any sauce. We should have sent it back. Showed it to our waitress and ask for extra sauce. She didn't tell us we would be charged for it. Our waitress should have taken the pasta back. The extra sauce tasted like Campbell Soup out of the can. We will never go back. If you want a good meal with no extra charges, I suggest Luigi's Or Carrabba's. Don't be fooled with Gio's atmosphere. read more

It's very rare that I give places a rating above 4 stars but Gios has definitely earned the high rating of 4.7. I had to take a couple of points off for them not having other salad dressing options which I noticed other customers were also disappointed about the lack of options as well, hopefully they will eventually start at least offering ranch. Now on to the good stuff!!! They did an amazing job with the gluten-free pasta, it was delicious. The fried mozzarella appetizer was also very good. They also do really good with portion sizes, meaning that the plates are actually portioned for 1 serving so you'll actually have room for dessert. I was excited to try this restaurant since the reviews were so good but I wasn't impressed. Had expresso martini- very good. I selected a Cesar salad that had an up charge that wasn't worth it. I had the grouper - daily special. I was NOT impressed. It was so salty that it was inedible. I told the server and was told next time it wouldt because I be salty.... Really???? Needless to say there will not be a next time. If I had gotten an apology or some kind of reaction to support my complaint, I might've been OK. The person I dined with was content with their meal. I was just so disappointed in my meal and the servers attitude with the comments from the kitchen. Who knew Gio"s has multiple locations.? Unfortunately this experience turned me off all of them. I love going to restaurants when they open for dinner service. Get to see how the team operates and the guests are taken care of. I received my drinks and 5 people stood around while I was trying to order dinner. Once someone got to me, the rest of my meal went great. The food is flat out awesome. Had the osso buco, and the calimari. They prepare it Mediterranean style and I'm not a fan. So I ordered it plain and it was really good. The twin cannolis were also great. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. I went back to Gios on 6/3. Went at the open. Someone greeted me, took my drink order and my dinner order. Had the Veal Mediterranean. Unfortunately, like too many places nowadays the "background" music was incredibly loud. We couldn't hear the server or each other. As we ordered and 45 minutes passed she started avoiding us. Something was wrong in. We found out when our food came. COLD seafood . Sent it back. Two minutes later hot now Microwave seafood turned to rubber or rubbish which ever you prefer. One of the owners stopped by and her explanation was that was impossible because her husband was the chief We are eating at the Myrtle Beach location and The one S.
