We waited to be seated..at an empty restaurant. Which was really strange. The lady behind the counter was very rude She made it so obvious that she was racist No one came to check on us while we ate. It's the new year and I was far from cheffing it up tonight so we settled on some delivery. Italian was on the brain so we called a few regular spots but due to the holiday, they were all no go. We looked to Yelp for a new restaurant with decent reviews and I came across Giovanni's. With fingers crossed, we called, hoping someone would answer and when we heard a voice we silently rejoiced. Hubbs gave our order to the woman who answered and she informed him that our delivery would take some time so we were prepared. About an hour after he called up our order I started getting antsy. The hangry level was at, "Concerned Tummy Growl" and we decided to give a few more minutes before calling them. Luckily, the delivery guy called a little later and said he would be arriving soon. Points given for actually entering our building to deliver our food instead of having us walk outside for our food. I absolutely hate it when restaurants make us leave our home to get our delivery; the whole purpose of delivery is to have a full meal brought to you while you're still in your PJs. Food was delivered to our door and the delivery person was very nice and personable; he shook my husband's hand! We've never had such a pleasant delivery, like, ever. The Grub: Chicken Parmigiana - the portion size is huge! There were four breaded chicken cutlets, doused with marinara, cloaked in mozz, placed just so, atop a California King of linguine pasta side. It's was cheesy and tasted ok. Spaghetti & Meatballs - the portion of this main was disappointing. They only gave two standard sized meatballs on top of the same large portion of linguine pasta. I would not order that again because it's just not worth it for what they serve. Disappointing. Fettuccine Alfredo - this was a generous pasta dish portion also. I've definitely had better versions of this elsewhere as it was lacking in the sauce. It was a bit dry and I was expecting creamy, cheesy pasta. Disappointing. Broccoli Side - this was supposed to be a veggie side, sautéed in garlic and evoo but the flavour of it was way off. The broccoli was overcooked and limp and it had the weird smoky taste. You could tell that they burned the garlic and instead of dumping it and starting over they just added the broccoli is which was likely pre-cooked and sautéed just like that. That burned flavour permeated every hand it tasted horrible. Disappointing. My rating is based mostly on the fact they were open today, we were informed when calling that delivery might take a while, our food was hot and the delivery guy was very nice. Bottom line is that they're a food service business and the food was severely lacking. Aside from the Chicken Parm dish tasting decent and the portion being so huge all of the other food was lacking in one way or another. We were missing a few meatballs, the alfredo was dry and the broccoli tasted burnt and was mushy. I doubt we'll order from them again which is unfortunate because I like having delivery options. read more

Great Italian Spot in the neighborhood! When I first walked in, it seemed like this is just a small pizza spot. When I checked out the menu, I realized that they serve pasta and a wide selection of other food as well! I ordered the Chicken Scarpariello with Pasta for lunch and it was very tasty. I went back for dinner because the owner suggested that I try the Penne Alla Vodka with Shrimp. That was one of the best decisions I made in my life!! We ordered 2 pies to stay as we were told you get a free 2 liter with each pie. They took quite a while to sit us but the restaurant area was completely empty. We sat and ate. We asked for a pitcher of water and rudely she stated is that all you're drinking? Mind you the pies come with a free two liter. When we asked for the other 2 liter she refused and told us the pepperoni pie did not come with a soda. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable. They didn't give us enough plates and I asked for more plates, they gave me 1 plate. When we left I asked for a box as we had several slices left. They gave me a bag and told us they had no more boxes which is pretty hard to believe. No hello how are you, no how is everything, no thank you please come again. First and last time going into an establishment that clearly is not welcoming. They need a huge lesson in customer service. First and last time. Then the guy told us not to go back there because it was for people who eat a full dinner (which was what we wanted) he then told us to sit in the front so we did and then we ordered what we wanted. We weren't sure if he accepted card so we asked and he said "the minimum is $5 and as long as its your card" ( in our heads we got mad and starting thinking about how he was treating us) He was basically assuming we couldn't afford the food they had when the pricing was $ instead of $$$ we don't care how much it'll be and we can very much afford what we eat. So happy we ended up here instead of where we were initially planning. I ordered the grilled salmon, and he got the sole francese. Both were amazingly delicious. I'm very picky about my salmon, but wow, this was made perfectly! It was a generous portion, and I ended up taking the rest home, which I never do, and happy I did because I ate the rest the next day. From the appetizers and the sides to the espresso, everything was delicious. The owner and his wife chatted with us; they were warm and friendly and took great care of us. I highly recommend you try this little hidden gem on Main Street. I can't wait to go back and explore more on the menu. I ordered last night for my children. I ordered a bacon pizza, fries ,and plain chicken wings for delivery . It took almost and hour to deliver and they are a 3 min drive. They did not give me a receipt , My sons pizza had the TIP CUT OFF, now because it look sliced off, although so many thoughts went through my head thinking maybe their co worker got hungry and slice the tip to eat I mean you never know I was willing to still give to my son because it was late they were about to close and he was hungry, well then I saw the wing were Buffalo and my step daughter was not going to eat it . It's as if I went to Target's frozen section and tried to eat one of the entrees without properly cooking it. After cooking it, it did taste good, so that's why the two stars. Best decision EVER!! Bruno and Ben were extremely accommodating and made this one of the easiest parties to throw. The reservation was for 20 and they assured me that the family style order of ziti, stuffed shells (Highly recommend!!! #YUM), sausage and peppers (#Delish!!), and garden salad would be enough. WAY TO GO!!!! Giovanni's IV in Yonkers, NY On April 18, 2015 I had a private party for my Women's Book Club. Ben and Bruno were the absolute BEST from start to finish!!! The price paid for the amount of food we received was well worth it! There were 20 women and not one was dissatisfied. We all left the establishment happy, filled and some were able to take food home (that how much food they served us). It was a family style setting, which was apropos to our Christian gathering! Our menu was Salad, Meatballs (which were heavenly), Penne Marinara, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Francesca, Salmon, and desert! Our server Yvette was a very sweet and friendly young lady! Wanted a good vegetarian option so I went for the vegetarian wrap. Asked to add avocado, mozzarella and use balsamic with the wrap. When I got it, the wrap itself was soggy and falling apart, making it almost impossible to eat with my hands. I started eating the vegetables with a fork but couldn't finish because they were drenched in oil. I also didn't get the extras I asked for. I think they reuse the oil for the fries as well as they were too burnt and crispy and had an oily after taste. If looking, unfortunately this is not good for vegetarian options. read more

Owner will tell us 10 minutes and then we'll go and wind up sitting there waiting after 30 minutes has passed. Tonight after we called and he told us 10 minutes I got there after 25 and he told me just two more minutes and I waited 10. I came here fairly regularly for a few years while I was living in Yonkers. I really only ever ordered their chicken roll because it was reasonably priced at $5 and -- as they'd remind me every time I called them -- they'd make it fresh for me. I lived right up the road so it was easy to just run and pick it up. It generally takes them twenty minutes to make one, but I've had several occasions where they greatly understated how long it'd take, and even a few times when I got there and they'd just straight forgotten to make my chicken roll. Recently, they've gotten a lot better about apologizing and giving me a free soda or something for the trouble. Aside from the chicken roll, I'm not a bit fan of their pizza and I've tried a couple of their entrees and they're nothing to write home about. Can do much better in the Italian arena at a plethora of other places in lower Westchester. The guys that work at Giovanni's IV have always been very friendly with me, but I've seen them treat women with a little less respect. Nothing crazy appalling, just a different attitude I've noticed over the years of coming. To sum up: If you're in the area and don't mind waiting a bit, the chicken roll is very good and quite a hearty size for a reasonable price. Can't really recommend anything else. read more
