    Affogato

My family and I have gone to this place for years but finally returned post pandemic. I really missed their gelato! Came here recently on a fairly stormy Friday night. We sat right by the windows but they had to close them halfway through our meal because of the wind and rain. Nonetheless we did not have the weather spoil our night! We both ordered pasta dishes (fettuccine alfredo and linguine vongole). I had to order an affogato for dessert because why not?

My favorite pizza inside of Bronxville a cute little town can sit outside. They have fresh gelato fresh bread brought to the table. The service is excellent. We always go there and we just wanna get a pie pizza and sit there and eat and relax in a nice atmosphere.

If this was in-house, it would be three. Since it's delivery, I am going with four. Full disclosure, this was DoorDash. I didn't order the pasta because pasta is always subpar with delivery (it overcooks on the way). I ordered the Margherita pizza, which was fine. Tomato sauce, bocconcini mozzarella, and basil pesto. It was fine. Flavors were ok. Probably would have been much better in-house (thus why I am always more generous with my ratings here). The qualifier here is that I've had delivery pizza from other places that are much better. I had the Caesar salad (no meat), which was ok, but underwhelming. Again, qualifier is that I've had delivery salads from other spots that were much better. I also ordered the potato croquettes, which are literally fried balls of mashed potatoes. I imagine they'd make very good drunk food. Would be better with a type of sauce! This restaurant has a lot of pasta (gnocchi, parmigiana, various pizzas, risotto, pappardelle, lasagna, ravioli). But saying it would be the best is tough based on how they compare on the previously mentioned items and how amazing some of the competition is around here. Regardless, would not order delivery again, but would consider stopping by in person if I was in the neighborhood.

One of my friends lives in Bronxville, and I was over her place for a bit when we decided to order in dinner. I asked for her recommendation since it's her neighborhood, and she suggested we try Il Bacio. I had never been here before, so I was excited to check a place that was new to me out. Il Bacio is located in the heart of the commercial hub of Bronxville, among a number of other businesses. Browsing the menu, it looks like they had a wide variety of Italian dishes, including dedicated sections for pastas and pizzas. I was feeling pasta, so I went with the pappardelle al limone which was pretty much the pasta in a light lemon sauce paired with arugula. I was given the option to add grilled chicken or shrimp to the dish and I chose the former. We also decided to share meatballs and potato croquettes. The potato croquettes were good; I find croquettes to be dry most of the time but these were perfect. I didn't like the meatballs - I give them credit for adding ricotta to the dish, but they had a weird consistency. They were almost sponge-like which didn't give a good mouthfeel. The pasta was pretty good - it was a generous helping and the lemon sauce was an interesting twist. I had never had a sauce like that before, and I liked that it wasn't heavy. Overall, Il Bacio was just fine. I didn't find it awful, but also it wasn't great. I would be open to trying them again, specifically in person to explore more of their menu and see how the experience is in-person.

    Chicken Francese Fettuccine alla carbonara

This place is like a hidden gem of Bronxville and that mostly only the people from the area would go to. I got the Chicken Francese ,Cream Alfredo Calamari Marinara , Tiramisu and sangria. We are definitely going back. The pizza and other menu's looked delicious! Pro: The chicken was well cooked and seasoned really nicely. You can definitely feel the lemon and great flavor of the dish. Even the deep fried potato was great. The calamari was unique, I never tried calamari like theirs where its very lightly coated. I believe thats how Italians like it? (Usually calamari has alot of covers of crunch to it) But you can tell how fresh they were. The Sangria was awesome. For 12$ i loved the flavor and the quality. There are places where I get about the same price that tastes watered down but this place was perfect. Ofcourse the vibe , reminded me of an Italian restaurant I went in Italy. It is very busy so I recommend making a reservation either before or go there avoiding usual meal hours. I sat there around 8:30 pm, that was when people started to leave but still had guests come in. They also close at 11 pm so it is great for people who have late dinners or simply want dessert. Tiramisu was also so yummy and not too sweet. Could say it felt homemade! Service was excellent. She was super friendly and made sure we had everything we need. Cons: Its summer, the AC system is horrible. Was sweating as eating. The fettuccine alla carbonara serving was way too much, it was delicious but felt overpowering with the serving. Would have been nice to have less and really cover the pasta with all the cream really well. Personally added more salt and pepper and cheese to add more flavor but it is a great creamy dish. ( I would say it was slightly bland I am not sure if that is how it is but others may like it) One thing, the website menu needs to change. The menu is kind of hard to see in the photo and the price is listed differently. Overall fantastic place, worth visiting and a great hangout, girls night, brunch, family day out and all that.

My wife and I visited for lunch at the very nice looking Bacio Trattoria. I ordered a meatball parm sandwitch and my wife a chicken sacaparelli. The meatballs had basically no meat, was like hamburger helper without the hamburger and the scaparelli had no peppers and the chichen was cooked until it was rubber. After a few bites we left $10 for the service and one ice tea, which was nice and left after explaining to the possibly a manager. He did say we did not have to leaver the ten but the waitstaff did not cook the disappointing food.

Great tasting food with beautiful presentation, however came on a Sunday for Mother's Day and service was okay. It seemed like staff was stretched super thin and stressed, which made the food take some time to come out. Although, that wouldn't deter me from coming back again because the food definitely doesn't disappoint!

I love Trattoria for its authentic Italian aesthetic and atmosphere! The window doors, little olive trees, and the seating area allowing ample sun light to enter all accomplish that Mediterranean feel. It's been a while since I came here, so I decided to get takeout one afternoon. Online they list old prices, so I was shocked to find out that a Caesar salad with grilled chicken was 18 dollars once I came in. Also, they do not have Apple Pay which was a little annoying since I had to quickly find an alternative way to pay. I was shocked to see such a large portion, a little too big actually! Despite the priciness, I suppose you do get your money's worth. I asked for extra caesar dressing and for good reason. The clumpy nature of the dressing made it difficult to distribute it among the food which was packed in the container. Apart from this slight issue, the chicken and lettuce were all really fresh and tasty!

    Gnocchi Bolognese

Pleasantly surprised. I'm usually hesitant to trying a new Italian place. I love pasta fagioli soup, and I'm a sucker for a bolognese. So boom- I ordered gnocchi and soup. When I opened it, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. Let's start with the soup. Definitely not what I'm used to it looking like! Two different pasta shapes?! But... the flavor was really delicious! A slight Smokey flavor from the meat, the broth was rich, and the beans cooked really well with great flavor as well. Moving on to the gnocchi. The meat sauce is fantastic. Super deep rich flavor. My only issue with the dish is the "pasta". It's a bit too much potato vs a slightly chewy texture how I'm used to. Still tasty - but I felt like I was eating meat sauce covered mashed potatoes. They also provide you with some really tasty bread! It came warm, soft, doughy, and not like the rolls everyone else gives you that you push to the side. I'd buy a whole loaf of this stuff. Definitely would order again - but probably a different pasta shape.

Yep. Def a good slice with a nice crisp crust

It's always interesting to return to a place with history, and thankfully, the current experience holds up. The restaurant was moderately busy, but everything flowed smoothly. Parking is easy with a free lot in the back, plus additional street options. The space is open with warm wood accents that give it a comfortable, inviting feel. We sat in the main dining room and started with the Hot Antipasto Deluxe, a generous spread perfect for the table. It didn't stop there, as they also brought out salad for everyone before the mains, a classic, welcoming touch. I ordered the pappardelle with chicken in a vodka sauce with a dollop of ricotta, rich and satisfying. Others enjoyed dishes like Chicken Piccata and Chicken Parmigiana. Portions were more than enough, and by dessert, shared chocolate lava cake and tartufo, we were completely full. A relaxed, accommodating spot that works especially well for groups. Definitely a place to linger and enjoy.
