We're visiting from out of town and got rained out of the theme park and wanted some good, comforting, italian food. This place fit the bill. We ordered a little of everything; pizza, pasta, salads, knots, zeppolis. This is the first time a large takeout order was 100% correct. The workers were also very friendly and accommodating. I have ordered pizza from this place before and it was good but today I decided to order a meatball sub for lunch, bad decision! To begin the sandwich was so dry! There was hardly any sauce. There was plenty of melted cheese but without any sauce it basically made it feel like there was too much cheese...but the to the worst part, the meatballs! I don't know how old these meatballs were but they must have gotten them from the back of the freezer after being there for 6 months. They were so hard I had to spit it out. I decided to dissect the second half and found that the meatballs were indeed old and dry! Will never order from this place again. I've been patronizing Giovanni's since they open here in Winter Haven many years now. I don't know what's happened but the food quality has gone for the worst. Order spaghetti dinner and a side of fried zucchini with a side salad. The appearance not appetizing at the least. The salad was the core of iceberg lettuce and it was brown our whole meal was like thrown together without and care at all fried zucchini was all soggy and falling apart spaghetti with meat sauce sux big time. And problem is I've had all this here before and it was good enough to make me choose them for spaghetti meal tonight what a Friggin disappointment. I'm done. I have mixed feelings because the food is amazing here and the kitchen crew is absolutely amazing but the woman who answers the phone has a disgusting nasty attitude that needs to be dealt with immediately if they ever want mobile orders to have any success in their busines. Came in over an hour before closing to the smell of bleach and glares from every worker, cleaning over an hour before closing and immediately commenting about how we came in as you cleaned. Very rude service and smelled, wouldn't recommend unless you intended on coming in just as they open maybe, didn't even give it a chance as the first thing that is said to us is "Just as you started cleaning here comes a family of four", floored by this comment we left immediately. read more

To be honest, I hate having to give bad reviews but this establishment deserves it. We came in for dinner and the staff was extremely rude, unfriendly and impatient. They didn't really greet or welcome us, they just told us to grab a seat. We thought that meant someone would come to our table and give us menus, etc. But that wasn't the case. We had to order at the front, which is completely fine, but again the staff was so cold and rude. Almost like they didn't want us coming in to begin with. Food looked great but lacked on the taste. We tried their garlic knots, Sicilian pizza and Strombolis. Garlic knots were good but the Mariana to dip it in was NOT. Pizza and Stromboli were also very subpar. Definitely not going back there again. Hope they get it together and teach their staff the importance of customer service soon. read more

I'm from New York. I do know good pizza from bad pizza. In Florida, there is a lot more bad than good. In the case of Giovanni's, this place is the real deal. I know when I order a pie, I'm getting something as close to New York as possible. I don't open the box and get disappointed. They really make a great pie. I made the mistake of trying a competitor recently based on a recommendation. It was a huge mistake. I highly recommend Giovanni's. The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable. First, we received the wrong pizza. We ordered Primavera and we got a pizza with broccoli, spinach, and tomatoes. We figured it's partially our fault because we didn't check before leaving. Second, the pizza does not have good flavor. The cheese pizza and garlic rolls didn't have flavor. It was so weird. Also, it did not smell appetizing, it was terrible. I ordered this place on door dash and just let me tell you to say the least this place was Amazing. We ordered the baked spaghetti, lasagna, and the 3 meat Stromboli. Everything was piping hot and just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. It wasn't super busy at 8p and our order was brought out quickly! The pizza was wonderful! Definitely NY style with a thin crust! There was only 3 of us and we completely polished off the whole pizza! We got our pizza to go so we weren't totally affected by the heat inside of the restaurant. The air conditioner didn't feel like it was on and the front door was propped open. That didn't affect us at all so I didn't take it into account. We will definitely go back! read more
