This used to be out go to pizza restaurant. Sadly after new owners the quality is just not there. After 3 tries, we won't be returning. Tonite we had a large mushroom pizza. It was dry and undercooked. The large Greek salad had a paltry amount of feta and the lettuces were a bit sad. read more

What happened to this place? My kids and I used to love their food, but it's been a few years since we went. Last night, we decided to treat ourselves and ordered them through DoorDash, insanely expensive, but based on their food years ago, well worth it. It wasn't worth it. Not. At. All. We ordered two pizza, cheesy garlic bread, the pasta trio to split, and their chocolate cake and lemon cake, enough food to last for days. Everything we ordered came, no issue with that, but all of it was ice cold. Not lukewarm, but ice cold. We received our order in less than 40 minutes from ordering it, ten minutes drive from store, so there is no explanation in the world why the food was this cold. We started with the pizza, limp, paper thin dough, no flavor for the sauce, crust, etc. but somehow it came with a weird aftertaste. The cheese garlic bread was just soggy dough with a slice of unmelted cheese on it. Now, for the trio pasta, the Alfredo was literally just a children's side of Alfredo pasta, the chicken parm was an old piece of dried out, slightly burnt chicken, smaller than a deck of cards, and the lasagna was clearly frozen, and all of it was tasteless. We ended up throwing it all away after a few bites and I ended up getting sick. The chocolate cake was previously, and recently, frozen, old, and somehow dried out at the same time. The lemon cake was obviously frozen, and again, recently, and it was not good. The food was horrible, cheap, tasteless, and seriously, how does tasteless food leave behind a bad aftertaste? How is this even possible? Absolutely will never get their food again. Not worth it. read more

The menu has changed and ingredients previously listed when family owned are not the same now that a corporation took them over. I was disappointed in the Don personal size this past time. Too many onions, no fresh tomato or mushrooms were in the pizza. The center was too soft and a slice could not be picked up to eat. A fork and knife was the only way to be able to eat it except for the crust edges. No bread was offered as it was in the past when a salad was also ordered. The wait staff was pleasant. I grabbed takeout from Giovanni's on Super Bowl Sunday, and was super surprised at how quick and easy it was! The only thing that I didn't like about ordering online was that the prices were higher than what they said they were on their website (about $3-4 higher per meal). I tried the Baked Ziti (around $22 online, but $18 on the menu) and it was sooo good! The portion was huge and I had enough pasta for at least 3 meals. It also came with a side salad (LOVE the house dressing) and some garlic breadsticks. My friend went for the Pasta Silva (around $23 online, but $20 on the menu) and loved it too. Despite the high price, you get a ton of food at Giovanni's which makes it worth it. Definitely going to return for some yummy Italian! read more

I'm specifically addressing take out in this review. Been ordering and eating from Giovanni's in Oviedo since 2015. It was excellent. I'm from NY and it was NY pizza for about 8 years since I've been here. Then things changed and it's all related to acquisition by iserv LLC in 2023 who also owns Sonny's BBQ. Ingredients taste vaguely the same, but pizza now comes burnt, half or 3/4 with huge dough bubbles, and it's just downright awful. If Iserv wants to be anything more than a private equity firm that owns restaurants, it needs to invest time and money into learning the craft of creating and preparing the food their franchises used to make. In terms of Giovanni's, they need to get skilled pizza makers back in the kitchen. read more

This place is amazing! I just moved here about a year ago and was looking for a traditional Italian restaurant, I am Italian and grew eating authentic food so usually it's hard to impress me. If you're looking for a place that makes you feel like your home this is it. It's family owned and the food reminds me of being at my Nona's, the server was very friendly and remembered me. Looking for a good Bianca pizza? This is not the place to go. I expected some garlic on it. In general, this was fairly tasteless. The side salad is HUGE & a great $deal for 6 bucks. They have a house Italian dressing which they are "famous for ", but I didn't care for it - weird taste & texture. Oh well, it was my first time here. (I live in DeLand) Nice place tho. I've been going to Giavonni's UCF for over 20 yrs (I live close by) and would continue BUT not now. Never, ever again. This report is with new owners. I picked up a Eggplant Parmesian order Sunday and I have never had such a weird taste or dried up dish ever at this restaurant. Before new owners it was actually one of the best in East OC. The bread was a wad of undercooked dough. Want good Italian, there are many Mom and Pops around doing a good job. Even Olive Garden, as commercial as it is, is much better than this restaurant. read more

I used to really like this place. It was my go to Italian restaurant. But lately something's changed. They must have a new owner or new cook or both. The food just isn't as good. Recently I got the chicken Marsala which was one of my favorite dishes at Giovanni's. It had no flavor! It was just really oily. The lasagna was super salty to the point where it was inedible. And the tomato sauce is different. I liked it because it was thin but flavorful. I do not like chunky sauce. The tomato sauce is now chunky and also super salty. I love this small chain restaurant in Orlando. Their salad dressing is so good I buy it by the bottle. Excellent pizza, salads and main courses. My go to place when I'm in mood for yummy Italian food. The place has a very New York pizzeria style restaurant and their food is very consistent. Don't really know what happened but tonight our dinner was not at all what we have come to expect. To start bread was not heated, I ordered spaghetti and meatball with marinara sauce meatballs were hot, marinara sauce warm, spaghetti warm. My wife ordered meatball sub, her meatballs warm but bun was not heated and ended up a soggy mess. When my mentioned that the sub was not right the waitress laughed at her. I was a 20 year customer of this place until tonight. My Sicilian pie was burnt after asking it to be cooked lightly. I called back to speak to the Manager and was given an answer of he doesn't answer this # call this one... so I did, he answered and spoke to me on speaker phone where I could barely hear him, what a joke, lied to and treated portly. I've been a regular at Gio's in Oviedo for decades. I've been through dozens of changes. I'm not going to say everything is always fabulous. No place is. However, I will say that I went in this week and ordered the eggplant parm and asked for it a little crispy around the edges and super light sauce. They listened and it came out perfect. I have digestive issues and need to be careful. So, last night I thought I would try the gluten-free pizza. AMAZING and walked out of there with my tummy feeling unusually normal. Ordered from Giovanni's and the food has really gone downhill since the new ownership group has taken over. The fried calamari was way over cooked. The garlic knots hardly had any garlic (even though I requested xtra garlic) and were hard as a rock. Eggplant parm used to be my favorite dish when Mike and family ran the place. But it seems the recipe changed or whoever makes the pizza does not give the same care as before. However, I truly wouldn't know because I have always put my trust in you to deliver. It looks and feels like any other place I can find pizza, a quality not justified by the price. Last evening I picked up a slice and it went limp, I could not believe it. And the garlic knots! The staff is constantly changing -- my understanding is the environment isn't healthy. We used to order food from this location 2-4x per month just because it was the closest Italian spot but much more often than not, the order was incorrect. I dealt with it for the sake of my elderly parents that miss real Italian food, like we used to get in NYC growing up. Staff confirmed that several dishes, including the eggplant rollatini is pre-purchased, frozen and warmed up. (We asked for it Florentine once and they said they couldn't make it that way because it comes frozen). The Alfredo sauce 9 of 10 times is broken -- so you get clumpy cheese on one side of your plate and oil/grease on the other. Pizza is mediocre. What I've seen the last few times doesn't come close to being worth my money (or yours -- I promise). Chicken Francesca -- a truly simple dish -- comes over battered and instead of being in a proper sauce, it usually comes doused in mostly butter. The last time I went, they made a mess of the order and even though THEY messed up on the order/prep AND the delivery, we had to drive over to the restaurant to pick up the stuff they had to replace. That night the owner got into an argument with my girl AND THEN refused to talk to her because I was the one that placed the order. (I left my mask at home, so I couldn't go in) I called the restaurant to speak to the owner, like he wanted, and the girls there told me to call his cell (as if I had his number?). I left mine and was told he would call me in a moment. I waited 15 mins, called back to understand why he had been so incredibly rude after his staff messed up the order AND delivery, and he had suddenly and conveniently "left for the night". He never called to try and make things right. Really poor customer service. It's so unfortunate to have such a trash business owner, with staff that's constantly turning over, food that's not of any quality, participating in this community. If you're an "ethical" patron/shopper, there's been plenty of literal signs, (I've only ordered delivery for the last year, so I didn't know until recently) that your business should go elsewhere. read more

We received our appetizer then waited on our salads. Then waited quite awhile for our entrees. When they finally can out, they were cold. We were in there probably for 2 hours.
