This is one of my favorite spot to dine when I am craving some good steak. This was my fourth time coning here and it did not disappoint! The server was great and very attentive, doing his best to provide excellent service even though it was a busy Sunday night. Their onion ring tower never disappoints and tastes amazing when dipped in their special sauce. If you order a side of salad, be prepared, it's enormous and comes in a huge plate. Every entree I've tried so far has been delicious and you can expect to take leftovers home because the portions are huge. Six of us met on Easter Sunday for dinner. The positives: We were seated promptly and the service was outstanding. They serve excellent rolls and everyone enjoyed their huge salads. The negatives: Two of us ordered their sirloin steak and they were on the tough side. One ordered the steak medallions with a similar opinion. When we go to these places the tendency is to compare it to other steakhouses. In terms of value and quality all agreed Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn were better choices. That's not saying Brown Derby is a poor choice but there are better alternatives. read more

Drove from Chicago to Streetsboro and arrived late. Checked into my hotel, asked about a restaurant and was recommended here, though was warned they would be closing soon. Made it there around 9pm, last person in the door. I was sat quickly, ordered a steak, was served the world's largest side salad (it was pretty good btw) steak and baked potato (also awesome), paid and was out the door in time for them to close up at 9:30. I can't think of a bad thing to say about the place. If I find myself in town again, I will definitely be back. read more

There were 5 of us out celebrating my birthday, we had reservations at7pm, the service was extremely slow and the food certainly was not any better. For the prices charged you would expect your order to be correct and cooked as asked when brought to the table. 2 steaks had to go back, the potatoes were ordered with toppings and came out with absolutely nothing on them and when asked for the toppings we were told by the manager that we had to ask for topping when we ordered, as we were explaining that we did do that the waitress came over and said " its really no big deal I can just go get it now" No one ever apologized for the mistakes on the meals and didn't even offer a discount. In our opinion we would never go back there, one and done is enough for us when you spend over 200.00 on a meal and your treated disrespectful and the food was not that great. read more

We were traveling home from a long weekend in Cleveland and since it was a holiday it was hard to find places open besides fast food. We stumbled across this place on accident and it was opening within moments so we took it as a sign to stop. My husband remembered eating in one as a child when visiting Kentucky. It was a lodge feel and amazing decor/lighting. The grill smell hits you when you walk in. We were greeted by the server and his trainer (which he did very well and attentive being new). We started with the highly recommended stuffed seafood mushrooms. They were large caps full of baby shrimp stuffing topped with cheese, great choice! I ordered the pork chop with mushrooms and baked potato and my husband the filet. We both agreed it was perfect meal and best baked potato. We went to the Streetsboro Brown Derby and were a bit disappointed. The service was great and the salad very good, but they were out of the Filet Mignon. We ordered the Gus' favorite. They were done well, but seem to have no seasoning. It tasted like plain grilled meat. Previously we went to the Medina location and it was great. We have been to this location three times over the past few months and have not been disappointed in any thing we gave ordered and everyone we've come in contact with has always been very friendly (ask for Niko he's the best) and he not related to us in any way. Would not recommend. Mt boyfriend ordered and picked up close to 100$ worth of food. He goes to pick the order up (we were told 20 mins) they didnt have our order ready as they "forgot" to make it. After about 20 mins of waiting my boyfriend finally recieved our food. He gets home and stuff isnt right. The bun on mt sandwich is soggy, they forgot to give us the toppings for our potato and sweet potato. As he was at the restraunt the staff was non existent and the establishment was not busy. We were looking so forward to returning to the Brown Derby but unfortunately, it was like a different restaurant. Steaks were ordered medium, arrived raw. The waiter took them back to the kitchen on our bread plates leaving baked potatoes on the steak plate to eat or get cold while waiting 10 minutes. The cook must have drenched the steak in the their oil based seasoning because all we could taste was cheap oil. Very disappointing. My wife and I just had a great meal at the Streetsboro Brown Derby. She had the shish-ka-bob, and I had a 10 oz. Filet. What enhanced the entire evening was a wonderful server, named Jordan. He was friendly, very welcoming, and attentive. We did not go without our drinks refilled, or checking in on our progress. The food was great, and we will be going again soon. Recorded what I expected . It was a berry busy Saturday night and the bar staff tried to keep up with orders. I was very impressed they were cleaning all glassware with a napkin to shine! In town on a business trip and wanted a steak. Reviews looked mixed but I decided to take a chance. I started with French Onion soup which was excellent. For my entree I ordered ribeye with a salad and fries. The salad was great, very fresh. I ordered my steak medium. Somehow half the steak was medium and half rare. I can eat either so no real issue. My wife and I had our preValentine dinner here on Feb 13th. We chose the house dalad for two, the proportions are generous and the salad is great. Our entrées were the scallops for her and the prime cut 10 ounce filet for me. She chose the baked sweet potato and I went with the traditional baked potato with butter. My steak was excellent and cooked just right with a warm pink color and so tender you could cut it with your fork. She liked the scallops as well, Both potatos were great. This was my first time here at the Girves Brown Derby in Streetsboro. All I can say is yummy. The bartender "Haylie" was sweet , polite and professional. They atmosphere was busy but everyone seemed to be in a good mood. My Boneless Ribeye was tender and juicy and very flavorful. The rest of my dinner was delicious as well. I recommend everyone to visit here if you have not yet. I will be returning! Keep up the delicious food! My compliments to the chefs and the staff as well. If I had ate that whole salad I would have been full. Used to get the bowl of salad for the table and it was perfect. The Gus's favorite 9 oz. sirloin was not at all how I remembered. The steaks could be cut with a butter knife, they were so tender. Not anymore. For $18.99, It was hard to cut and had no flavor. Wont be going back. Too much money and not satisfied.$80 for 2. Not gonna lie, this place holds a special place in our hearts. Not to say this review will be biased, but we have been here many times. Each time just as wonderful as the last! Service here is always on point, facility is always clean and presentable and the food? Well, let's just use one word....FOODASMIC! This visit we ventured out and got the onion straw appetizer. YUMM! Just the right thickness, ever so crispy and the sauce to dip it in? YES! Definitely adding this to the arsenal. The rolls and sweet butter always slap, so be ready. The mens room here does have a sewer odor, but it's always clean. Not a huge fan of the soda selection (bruh, get some Coke Zero on tap) and we want a salad with some true green stuff....please hold the iceberg whiteness. Pricey, but worth it. Food has definitely went downhill since we were here prior. My wife's $39.99 filet looked like they cut a steak in half. When we asked they said it was due to smashing the steak down to insure that it was cooked thoroughly, huh? The entire meal was meh pretty much on par with a Denny's. Overall the food was good other than the steak. A lot of gristle (my usual complaint here to the point I won't order steak anymire.) Also - ask for medium rare you will get rare. We went here for Father's Day this past Sunday, was my choice as I wanted a med-rare ribeye steak. Been a couple months since we've been to this location. The salad served family style was good, along with the rolls. The steaks were another story though. We ordered 2 ribeyes cooked medium rare & 1 porterhouse well done (son-in-law likes shoe leather), & 1 Monterey chicken I believe. Both ribeyes we cooked medium & not much flavor, salt/pepper or some seasoning, the porterhouse pictured was charred on exterior, borderline burnt but medium pink inside. Now we've stopped going to Longhorn Steakhouse in Solon as they cannot get their temps correct. Just don't understand how a steakhouse can't cook steak properly. You specialize in 1 thing, steak, cook it correctly, it's the 1 thing you need to do... smh. So here at Brown Derby we did not send the ribeyes back. The porterhouse we did send back, and reminded the server that mushrooms & onions were to accompany this steak originally & didn't receive. A bowl of mushrooms was delivered to table, no onions. Didn't ask again after that. So all in all the chicken dish was enjoyed, the garlic mashed potato sides were very good, as was vegetable side. But the steaks, not so much. Looked like they had 2 kids on the grill, you can watch through the glass. They had quite a flame roaring. Maybe an experienced grill person would help.
