My wife and I visited this place last Friday. We didn't make a reservation (should), so we waited for a while. It worth to wait. The bread came out in a minute after we seated. It's so goooood. The dipping oil is amazing. We ordered one bottle after meal so we can enjoy more at home. We ordered spicy lamb cubes and house salad first. The lamb cubes is delicious! the lamb just cooked right, love it. For the pasta, my wife ordered lobster ravioli, I went for chicken sausage. Actually we shared both. They both are GREAT! The alfredo sauce for lobster ravioli is creamy with great flavor, also come with shrimps. The chicken sausage with pink sauce, yummy! the chicken was cooked just right. We asked more bread to dip in the sauce, sooo goooood! The portion is BIG. It's impossible to finish them all. Just love the food, will be back! read more

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at Giuseppe's. If you're looking for authentic Italian in the south suburbs, this is the place to go! Neither of us had been there before, so we didn't know what to expect, especially considering it's located in a little strip mall. However, indoors was a completely different environment. It was cozy and dimly lit. We were greeted immediately and seated by the owner. Bread and oil are complimentary, and it was some of the best bread I've ever had, freshly made, perfectly seasoned, and 90% of the reason we'll keep coming back. My boyfriend got the chicken alfredo, which was amazing; it just needed a little salt to bring out its creamy goodness. I had shrimp in a garlic tomato sauce. My only complaint was the sauce was a bit too acidic, but that was in part my own problem because I turned down the freshly grated cheese which would've cut the acidity. Our bill came out to $45 for two pasta dishes, a couple beers and a generous pour of wine: an amazingly good deal considering we both had enough leftovers for another meal. read more

Ali is no longer at this location, too bad I had to find out the hard way! Looking to cater to my daughters upcoming party, I asked our [unsociable] waitress if Ali was in the kitchen, and I was told he was too busy to come out to speak. [understandable] I had noticed the food hadn't tasted quite as magical as my family and I had remembered. I returned on Saturday in the afternoon, again looking to speak to Ali about an order for my daughters party, and a waitress told me he took the day off. [strange, it's saturday..] I gave up on visiting with Ali and talking about this party face to face. Each time I'd called to speak with Ali, he would be too busy to talk. I'd placed the order a couple weeks in advance with that "oh so friendly waitress", and she assured me Ali would do his best for our daughter. I was relieved. Granted, the price was MUCH higher than it had been just 2 years ago when they catered to my son's graduation; but it was what my daughter was looking forward to. The party went great, the food did not go great. This was NOT the food that our family celebrated over, it was bland and tasted straight from a can. We were able to save it with plenty of parmesan cheese and some spices from the cupboard, but we did not [over]pay to end up cooking ourselves. Is that not the point of having a caterer? So you DON'T have to fret over the food? read more

The food: the bread was excellent(only reason two stars) main dishes were very bland and watery but good portions. The restaurant: It needs an update for sure. Way too bright of lighting for a dinner. Brick writing is just fine for me though. The service: Horrible! Which is really hard to do to me. Took order, brought bread and drink, brought out entrees and asked if we needed anything else, brought check. Never once asked how is everything, do you need anything, refill, nothing. I wanted to order dessert and didn't even get the change. The restaurant had four front end staff and only three tables with people, and we left an hour before close. Have been there a few times, restaurant is on the small side, have never had anything that wasn't very good, bread and olive oil is super yummy, it would be a nice place to take a date, because it is good food and isn't too expensive. The service has been great every time I have been. I will return many more times. read more

I work close by so my coworkers and I are always ordering takeout, the food is always ready and on time when I get there. Staff is quick and very friendly! I recommend my personal favorites, the Caesar salad and of course the bread with the dipping oil. read more

Last night looking for somewhere new in Burnsville we (Lindsay C. & my husband) found Giuseppe's. I'd driven by this place numerous times on trips to Blue Max Liquors (which ROCKS, try it) but had never been. Dang! It was packed. It looks like nothing on the outside, but inside all tables were full (granted it's smallish). The decor in this place is so bad it's good. Walls are painted burgundy with a gold sponge paint job that looks exactly like my childhood bedroom (that I painted myself when I was 12 yrs old). There are pictures of flamenco dancers & bullfighters on the wall (isn't this place Italian?) but hey....the food was great and the price was right. I had Seafood Scampi pasta ($12.95) a mix of shrimp, calamari, and scallops cooked in a lemon, pesto, wine sauce. It was very good and the seafood was cooked to perfection (not over-done like most places). Portions were huge. There was a guy checking all the tables that I'm guessing was Giuseppe himself and I always like that. All-in-all this spot is worth a try. read more

Cannot wait to go back to cozy Giuseppe's! The food was seriously Divine. I am a pretty tough critic of pasta dishes, but Ali passed the test! This little restaurant will make you feel like you on a European vacation. We sat at their tiny little bar and drank wine (the only alcoholic beverage available), while learning about what makes Giuseppe's tick. No microwaves or heat lamps in that kitchen. Everything comes from the pan onto the plate and into your mouth. We ordered ours to go, and 45 minutes later our food was still warm! I got the Giuseppe Special with shrimp and no prosciutto, and my BF ordered the Chicken and Sausage. We both loved our food. The bread was also really good, which surprised me to see a bad review about it. MaryAnne was our order-taker, and her and Ali entertained us the entire wait (which wasn't too long). We were having so much fun, I was sad that we had ordered to-go, but now can't wait to go back! read more

Change in ownership and the food quality has declined. Go to the original owners new location in Rosemount. We were served cloudy ice tea with attitude when asked to replace it. All the sauces now taste like they are from a jar and overpowered by garlic. Chicken Alfredo and chicken Parm had chunks of chicken that were the same...seemed like the chicken found in the bag a Costco. Pasta was overlooked. The place was empty for a Saturday afternoon around 1:30. Both of us were sick that night. read more

Tiny little restaurant with good food! The bread & dipping oil they serve you to start with is phenomenal and they will refill your basket as much as you like. I would recommend the Sausage Siciliana (not on menu here but was on dinner menu when we went in). Waitress was super friendly and helpful!! She did a super great job, especially being the only waitress there at the time. Prices on average were $12.95-$15.95 for the entrees. I had the worst Italian entrée I'd been served in my entire life! The cappellini had a burnt garlic flavor, was filled with anemic-looking tomatoes and the feta was cut in squares and placed on top. Almost inedible. The bread and dipping sauce were good though. The service was also poor. read more

First time dining here earlier tonight. Started with the lamb cubes, and they are listed as spicy, which they were. They were okay, but the seasonings were unimaginative and the heat overpowered the flavor of anything else-think bad, almost burnt curry flavor. My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs, and she thought that was very good, although the dish was a bit heavy on the sauce and to me the sauce tasted like some Chef Boyardee slop out of a can. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon, and the menu states the dish contains filet mignon. No way was that filet! It was stringy and tough. Also, the sauce was too sweet. My biggest gripe, however, was the service. There were very few people in the place, and our server did not once stop to refill our water or ask if my wife would like another glass of wine. Unacceptable, especially since the place was virtually empty. Will not return. read more

This Guiseppi's is superior to the Rosemount location IMO. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is good and patrons are not packed into tables like sardines. Also, the wine list is good! read more

My wife and I have dined here about six times and have never been disappointed. The bread and dipping oil is fantastic and very popular with every meal. Pastas are great and servings are generous (saw a lot of boxes going home). My favorites are the Beef Bourguinon and Frutti De Mare. Service staff is just okay. Prices are moderate.
