Time to resurrect another review that would have been written in 2025! This time, I re-visited Giuseppe's. My first visit to this place happened before a meeting in this plaza that lasted about 2.5-3 hours on September 10, 2025. Since I ended up driving on Highland Avenue in Waterbury towards Naugatuck for whatever reason, I decided at that point to make some fruit out of it and come back here, and boy am I glad I did! Today's visit was just as good as the first visit. That says something because during the first visit, there was one person who the order and remarked it was one of their Top 3 pizzas in the state! Honestly, I would not be mad to see this in people's Top 3 pizzas. I grabbed up a white pie with bacon, garlic, and basil (Yes, it is pizza, and if you disagree, then tough). Alongside that, some fried ravioli, garlic bread with cheese, and an order of mozzarella sticks with a Foxon Orange Soda because that's how I like pizzeria meals goddammit! And yes, all of these appetizers ruled! Anything different said will go in one ear and out the other because I ain't hearin' anything different. That ravioli has a nice squeeze after that first bite, crunchy, and the marinara sauce does give it a nice little kick. Garlic bread with cheese is always a winner, and the mozzarella stick is cheesy and delicious. What can I say? Giuseppe's serves up some bangin' out the frame appetizers! And the pizza. Oh the pizza! They make with love and care. One look at my pizza, and you could see how crispy that bacon was. The aroma was SO good that I had to have my first slice before I even started the car to go home. And yes, the pizza was that delicious! I even had my second slice after I parked my car to go home, so a quarter of the pie didn't even make it back to my apartment it was so good. Oh yeah, and while I didn't do it this time, last time I actually had a second person with me who also had a slice of the pizza and they also thought it was delicious. Dine-in or take out you can't go wrong here. Lastly, you can take advantage of some of the specials they have. As of 6/7/2026 (6 7!), Tuesdays and Wednesdays have all-you-can-eat specials if you choose to dine in. Tuesdays you get spaghetti, and Wednesdays it's ziti and garlic bread. On Sundays, you can get a nice lil deal on chicken wings ($1 per wing) and for those it doesn't matter if you dine in or take out. The ziti in particular seems like a great deal because that special is $10.95 (normal menu price is like $22). And speaking of prices, they're very reasonable for 2026. What I got tonight came out to $55.60, and it was a $55.60 that was well-spent. Seriously, this pizzeria is a must-go! read more

Have to say I was impressed with Giuseppe's! They're a childhood favorite of my husband's, and I had only had them once years ago. They had a pretty good flavor, though I think the crust was a bit plain. Could be a good one to order every now and again for a change! Would also like to dine in again sometime. read more

Giuseppe's pizza in Naugatuck was quite good. The crust was thin and flavorful, the sausage was tasty and the sauce had a nice tang to it. Giuseppe's is definitely worth the stop. I haven't been to this restaurant in 20 years so I was pleased to see it was still open when I drove by. I decided to stop in for some pasta. In the past, I would come for the huge hamburger they would prepare. Today, we decided to try the meatball & pepper and chicken parm dinners. So delicious. The bread had just the right amount of toasting on it. Not burnt nor too light. The cheese was perfectly melted and the meatballs were great as always. Nice and soft. Not a lead sinker like most places. The meatball parm grinder was the epitome of the perfectly made sub. It was just the right amount of ooey & gooey and it had enough sauce on it. You know when you bite into it you want a little bit of meatball a little bit of cheese and the right amount of sauce. The perfect mouthful. You know that perfect bite I'm talking about? I'm sure you do. Well they knocked it outta the park tonight. Drool worthy if you look at my pics. I had a small cheese pizza a couple weeks ago which is also very good here. They use good cheese. Sometimes I'll shoot for a sausage & cheese pizza. The restaurant is always clean. The staff are always warm and welcoming. Plenty of parking also. read more

Few and far between can a takeout pickup leave such a warm memory that stays with you. It was a last minute stop a few days before Christmas and it was such a inspiration to witness. Came in, grabbed a takeout menu and scrolled quickly to grab something small and quick. A gentleman came over and asked what I would like and I ordered a half steak n cheese to go. I started to walk outside to wait and he said would you like a beer while you wait to which I declined. He looked at me a little funny and said wine then? I said ok sure...sauvingnon blanc please. He laughed and said what color is that? I was slightly worried and said white ...he said " sure I've got something white" ( oh boy what am I paying for here) he hands me the glass and I take a seat while I wait for my food.. There was a couple waiting for food and clearly regulars. They made numerous attempts to pay for their food and he would not allow it. He refilled their beers a few times also. He had a list 8 pages long of stuffed breads he needed to make for Christmas eve/ new years etc and was speaking to this couple with no inconvenience or worry. He simply stated he'd get there early the next day. I finished the wine and asked about my food which was ready, when I went to pay there was no wine on the bill, so I reminded him to charge me, he said oh no, wine or beer while you wait for takeout is free. Having worked in restaurants my entire life I said you can't make any money giving away alcohol, and he just smiled and said " that's why I don't buy sauvignon blanc" . It was simply a reminder that there are people who are good and kind and wonderful. What a wonderful gem of a place. Also, the steak and cheese was massive even thought it was a " half" and very tasty. If you live close, or if you don't...you must try this place. read more

Spur of the moment stop in. Always try and support local restaurants. There was only one other table so seating was pick your own. Our server was friendly and was great throughout our dinner. There were two of us and I chose linguini with white clam sauce and the other dish was penne ala vodka. Bread service came. The bread was ice cold. I would guess leftover pizza dough baked and then refrigerated. The penne ala vodka had a burnt taste in the background that made the dish difficult to even get down. The linguini while cooked to al dente which was great had a pile of clams on it and literally no sauce. Don't think we will be back. read more

Ownership has changed, but bears the same banner, Service is now poor: employees without manners. The calzone was, however, quite delightful, So just eat your food and don't be too spiteful. I grew up on Giuseppe's, but after Scott sold the joint in the 90's it hasn't been the same. The pizza sauce definitely doesn't have the zest that it did once upon a time. I recently ordered some takeout and the employees were also saying things they shouldn't have been saying in front of customers. We'll leave it at that. My recent buffalo chicken calzone was actually really good, though. Huge, crispy, and the outside was perfectly coated with garlic and pepper. Got a plentiful amount of chicken inside and blue cheese on the side. I'll be back for takeout given the convenient location. read more

Ive been a customer of giusepppes for a while,and now every time my husband and i come back to ct we always want to have a pizza form Giuseppe's, they use to be the place for a good pizza. we just orded two pizzas and a large tossed salad from them tonight and boy!! what a freakin disappointment! the salad had like a half a head of lettuce, two cherry tomatoes and four slices of cucumber, and a little onion and i imagine three or four shedded carrots! over the whole top off the salad as if they where trying to hide the so called salad under neath. the lettuce was old and welted, not eatable. the pizza, one was a small white pie with egg plant and garlic, the crust was so thin when i got it, was so soggy and the crust was thinner then a cracker. there was no flavor, no garlic and very little egg plant, maybe one piece on each slice or less,,. the second pizza was small pepperoni and mushroom, again the crust was not a crust for pizza,,soggy,less then paper thin crust,greasy and hardly any cheese, I think we will unfortunately be looking elsewhere from now on for a good Italian pizza othe then Giuseppe's pizza. i would have given a zero star if it was possible. read more

What a great place. The owner and his staff are friendly and fun. The calzone is HUGE and absolutely phenomenal. I have never seen a calzone with that much gooey cheeze, tasty meats, and veggies. Matt was funny and inviting. He knew the customers by name as they came in, he asked about their family's, etc. You could tell he took a lot of pride in his establishment. As I had just moved to Connecticut, I hope to find more gems like Giuseppe's. I am definitely going to return. I almost forgot, how cool is the free pitcher of beer with a pizza purchase? Guiseppe's was established in 1991. Around 1996-1997, I considered buying the restaurant, but decided not to at the time. The original owner is still there after all these years. He's taken on a couple partners to ease the burden and the food is still excellent and plentiful. Everything is always fresh and the portions are huge. The pizza is good and the italian bread is made fresh daily. A cup of soup looks like a small bowl and the side salad is so big that it looks like a meal all on it's own. The pizza ovens can be seen from the dining area so it's easy for the owners to communicate with the customers. I began with a cup of pasta fagoli. My dinner was the baked sausage & peppers and my wife had a meatball calzone. The waitress warned me that my dish just came out of the oven and it was extremely hot. As I was taking pictures of our dinners, I managed to zap my arm on the hot plate anyway. Small price to pay for the enjoyment of writing reviews. Lol read more

This is my go to lunch spot. The price is reasonable, the food is consistently delicious, and the owners are just the nicest! I suggest the turkey wrap, buffalo chicken salad or my favorite - grilled chicken and broccoli sautéed with garlic and just a bit of EVOO. I made the last item up... just order it as a side if it sparks your interest. It's a very generous portion and smells and tastes heavenly. Quick service! And if you're not just grabbing lunch and heading back to work (or if you are and drinking mid work day is your thing...), they'll hook you up with a beer or glass of wine while you wait! read more

What's happened to this place? Used to be our go-to pizza spot but the last two times we ate there the pizza was overdone and the cheese tasted like it was lower quality. Moved to Naugatuck and was looking for a pizza place to go and sit down and eat. With a name like Guiseppes we thought how could we go wrong. Boy were we surprised, it was not a good experience at all. Our waitress brought us bread that was in a basket, when we went to eat it it was stale. Ordered mozzarella sticks which tasted like what ever seafood that they cooked in the fryer and they were not even hot, We got a large pepperoni pizza well done as we like ours well done. Well the pizza crust tasted like it was one that we had gotten from our school cafeteria and the sauce was very bland also there was very little cheese on it had a fair amount of pepperoni on it. Our waitress had no personality she acted as if she didn't want to be there, I guess the only good thing was that they had foxon soda, We will not be returning there at all. read more

The buffalo chicken pizza itself was great. It's hard to describe- not a typical thin or thick crust pizza. The crust was pretty thin and crispy but the pizza was thicker with the toppings. I haven't had anything like it as I am accustomed to new haven pizza but I was very impressed. Buffalo chicken itself was cooked great which is usually iffy from a pizza place and the buffalo sauce was creamy and flavorful. The best Italain Restaurant in Naugatuck! The pizza is very good and comes with a free pitcher of beer if your 21 or older... They have excellent meals and the best Calzones around! I love the Eggplant and I usually get 2 Eggplant Subs every week! The Eggplant is just like we make at home! I don't think that there's a Restaurant around that makes Eggplant as good as they do! Matt, Scott, & Keith really know what they are doing and have a really good business. They take out is always busy but very fast service!
