We ordered the chicken Marsala and the pasta bolognese that mentioned house made pappardelle noodles. The chicken Marsala was incredibly delicious full of fresh flavor with vegetables in the broth. My pappardelle was not right. My husband took a taste and agreed. We notified the server who then found out that the chef had inadvertently put truffle oil instead of olive oil into the dish so he remade it and it tasted better. However it did take quite a while for me to contact the server so my husband was all done with his meal by the time I received the new one. The meal was not comped. Plenty of Italian restaurants in this area for us to choose from so I don't think we will be back. read more

One word would say it all...excellent!!! Homemade blue cheese dressing to die for. I had shrimp scampi and it was the best I have ever had. Shrimp was broiled or roasted with a few breadcrumbs so they were not soggy. The sauce was light and refreshing with the tomatoes. Service was awesome and the place has great vibes! read more

Went on a Wednesday evening, no reservation, but were seated in the busy dining room. Service was very professional and our server knew everything about the menu. Food was fabulous. I've been sitting on this one a while now because honestly, I've been struggling with what to write. I came in for lunch during Restaurant Week and was immediately impressed with the friendly welcome, the ambiance and the service. The menu looked tasty and the wine list was pretty solid. I was feeling traditional, so I ordered the linguine and meatballs with a glass of red wine. It came with a side salad and some bread. Now, I'm used to spaghetti and meatballs being my comfort food, so it's hard for you to go wrong with that for me. Maybe it was the linguine -- just not the same. Not cooked to that perfect al dente I look for. The sauce was just sort of "eh" - the only thing I can really sing about were the meatballs. Again, not traditional -- I expected all beef, but it was some kind of combination (pork and beef I think at least). So that was an interesting change. The side salad and bread were sort of a joke - both very small portions and not exactly stellar. I packed up most of it and brought it home for my 6 year old who will eat pasta with bland red sauce every night of the week if I let him. It's just that I could have made it at home (perhaps minus the meatballs) for pennies on the dollar of the high ticket bill I ended up with. Maybe I just picked the wrong thing -- who knows? I enjoyed the atmosphere, but for the price of the lunch, it was really just woefully average. Nothing memorable that I'm jumping at the bit to repeat. read more

A nice spot near Longhill Rd area in Williamsburg with authentic Italian cuisine. The beet & goat cheese salad was superb, as was the salmon on Mediterranean veggies, the chicken Marsala and the shrimp scampi. Our server was attentive, friendly and on top of our needs. The rolls are dense, yeasty and comforting. The lentil soup was also a hit. The parking can get tight and I suggest reservations since Titus place is very popular. The inside is bigger than it appears and plenty of tables for large groups. The pizza was more generic than Neopolitan which was the only minor ding. Fabulous meal. read more

There are angels among us. I'm visiting Williamsburg VA and went to this local restaurant to have my dinner. I did my usual of ordering a four course dinner with wine and dessert. When I was ready to leave and asked for my check the waitress informed me that someone else had paid for my meal. felt gratitude to whoever it was. My meal was excellent. I started with the calamari which was cooked to perfection. Most places will over cook and it is chewy but this chef knew what they were doing and cooked it just enough that it was still tender and flavorful. For my main course I ordered the Josephine veal which came with a choice of salad or soup. I chose the lentil soup and was delighted with both. To finish off I decided on the cannoli. Who can go to an Italian restaurant and not get a cannoli. One of the best I've had it was a smooth filling inside a crunchy wrap. Yum! The Prosecco reminded me of the cava I had in Tarragona Spain. Too bad I was driving or I would have had another glass. This place is definitely worth a return visit. read more

Very friendly service, calm and relaxing atmosphere, and excellent food made our first visit to Giuseppe's a five star experience. Though COVID and 2020 continues to ruin everything, this place allowed us to have a bit of normalcy along with our artichoke appetizer and spinach salad (both excellent and very shareable). We paired it with the chicken carbonara entree with tomato soup, and it was YUM. No wait for a table of two on a Saturday, though there was a steady flow of diners throughout the evening. The best Italian in Williamsburg! I will fight you about it. The menu is not big, so you know the food will be fresh. The specials always sound so good. I'm partial to the chicken Parm, but I branched out and got the mussels and linguine dish this time. I was not disappointed. The staff and family are so friendly! Although they are only open for dinner, I look at this as a positive since their food isn't sitting out or frozen all day. Their wine selection is also delicious! Had the pasta bolognese and my 2 girlfriends got the gnocchi. Everything was delicious. We all could have filled leftover boxes but since we were traveling it wasn't an option. I got a cosmo. It was very strong, or, as I had said, I'm rusty! My artichoke app was amazing! I loved it, and its simplicity, yet full of flavor. I got the Lentel soup. It was hearty and chock full of lentils with sausage. I hate to say, but I still prefer Carrabba's sausage and lentil more. I had the breaded veal with a lovely piccata and goat cheese sauce. This was fabulous! Right up my alley! Service was great. I took home the dark rich chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Its decadent and a diet buster well worth it! Service was good. Food was definitely blah. I consider myself a good cook and I definitely would make so much assessments today food. Tomato sauce needs to taste better, It was too acidic and lacked seasonings, salt and pepper maybe more garlic. Noodles in the vegetable lasagna were too thick. Vegetables overcooked. Bread ok but needed salt. Obviously the cook didn't use any EVOO for cooking. We won't return nor recommend this place. read more

After reading all the good reviews, we chose to eat dinner here. Let me add that I am Italian and a good cook. We started with the fried calamari appetizer. The calamari were okay, but the marinara dipping sauce was scant and had one large chunk of tomato in it. Who can dunk in that? My husband ordered the CHESAPEAKE BAY CIOPINNO and he liked it. I ordered the CLASSIC CARBONARA and it was awful. The pancetta (unsure if there even was guanciale in it) was over fried, hard, and bitter. The sauce was runny and not how carbonara should be. Let me add that the waitress cleared our bread and appetizer plates and I was left without a spoon for the gazpacho (which would have been fine since it was lousy). We sat in the bar area and the gentleman who works there spent his time behind the bar talking to two female customers while we kept looking around for someone to bring me a spoon. This restaurant is in a small strip mall, which is unassuming. When you walk in you notice immediately it is nicely decorated. We came because of the previous reviews and I love Italian food. We were not disappointed! The wait staff were very nice and the food was excellent! We had the Chicken Parm, Pappardelle Bolognese, Fra diavolo Mussels, Halibut over Jambalaya Risotto and Spaghetti & Meatballs. The food was great!
