    Winter White Cosmo

Delicious lunch with friends! This was the first time dining at Waypoint for lunch, and it was very nice. I enjoyed a winter white cosmo and a grilled shrimp salad. My friends had wine, the crab and shrimp fritters, and the calamari. We had to ask for bread service, which was a warm cut baguette with an herb butter. While prices are a bit high for lunch compared with other high-end restaurants in Williamsburg, everyone enjoyed their drinks and meals. Service was polite and efficient. The dining was relaxing, with a roaring fire and tables spaced nicely apart. Parking is free and located out front.

We always have such a great time anytime we come here. Brandon is the best, so personable and fun to talk to. If you ever get the chance to even just stop by the bar to hangout with him, you definitely won't regret it. Their calamari is fantastic and so are the Brussels sprouts from their appetizer menu. The waypoint burger and steakhouse salad are my two go tos. Management is fabulous and always making sure every single table is happy and satisfied.

Upscale seafood restaurant, very nice decor, obviously a special occasion place for fine dining. Of course the prices are commensurate with that, which was not unexpected. However, when dining at that level, I expect a little bit more, and tonight we just didn't get it. We were greeted by hostess and seated promptly, and our waitress was very personable. Limited special menu for Mother's Day, which we expected. We both had the stuffed oyster appetizers, which were fine, although I still am kicking myself for not getting the carpaccio. Mains arrived barely tepid. Server brought them back to be refried, manager stopped by and apologized. Meals (same ones) were returned and now we're a better temperature. Flavors were...okay. Sea Bass was thin and slightly overcooked, "lobster" cream sauce lacked any lobster or flavor - reminded me of a Thermidore. My Halibut was fresh and flakey, but crab stuffing was minimal, and artichoke sauce was very subtle. Deserts were also lacking; chocolate dome cake was not anything under a chocolate dome as expected, but more like a donut. My cheesecake was served in what appeared to be a premade tart shell, and the taste was just a little off. With many other restaurant choices available, we probably will not return, and could not honestly recommend.

Although the presentation of the Mother's Day meals looked good, the taste was not at all consistent. We started with stuffed oysters which were good, but then my sea bass was tepid and my hubby's halibut was also just barely edible due to the coldness of them. The server showed up after I took my first bite so I did respond that they needed to be warned up. She took them away and said the manager would speak with us. He apologized for this. We got them back, the original ones albeit they were warmed up, however my sea bass was not Chilean sea bass so it wasn't my favorite. A thinner fish so not at all tasty. Hubby said his halibut was just okay and I agreed with him. The entrees were followed by a supposed "dome of chocolate " but it was a small round cake that also lacked flavor. Hubby's cheesecake was served in a pre made tarte shell and the cheesecake tasted weird. A fancy environment without the fancy food. Extremely overpriced for what we were served. We don't mind paying high prices but the food didn't match the prices.

such a lovely surprise in the area. I was looking for some place to eat and stumble upon this restaurant. and didnt expect the food are so good. the space is big and we were seated in the back where is a bit quiet and private. the restaurant is not busy at the time, service was fast . the duck wing is a must have, and the she crab soup is delicious as well. i had the risotto with scallops. the scallops are big and perfectly seared. risotto is creamy.

Let me start with the service was excellent. The waitress was wonder and very attentive. The place is very comfortable with an upscale feel. The mixed drinks were fine. The food was a bit of a disappointment though. The oysters on the half shell were badly opened and full of shell bits. The crab soup was very thick and not a lot of flavor. The steak was burnt on the outside. None of it was inedible but for the price we expected better quality control and preparation. Too many other good place close by for me to try again.

I'm not sure about you but after a long day of shopping hunger kicks in. I didn't have a reservation so I was seated at the bar. Since it was still happy hour I ordered the fish and chips. It arrived hot and ready to be in my belly. The portion size was larger than I expected and it was so delicious. I choose a cobbler( apple) with vanilla ice cream. I loved the presentation of mini cast iron pan. There is plenty of parking and the service was excellent! Cameron was a great bar tender explaining the drinks he was making and providing history of restaurant. It can be a great date night or family dinner outing. Truly upscale with clothe tablecloth and weighted utensils.

    Calamari

We had a delicious dinner with fantastic service. We had a lemon drop and sangria cocktail that were refreshing and delightful. There were so many wonderful choices that we decided to just order several small dishes - she-crab soup, calamari, scallops, and a wonderful salmon flatbread. We would love to return to be able to enjoy more that they have to offer.

Waypoint was an amazing experience from start to finish. It was easy to get same day reservations, our overall service was good, and what the service lacked the food more than made up for. First the service, our server was often times no where to be found but we also observed that it didn't seem as if she had an assigned section that was close to ours. ‍ However the food was amazing from start to finish. We loved both our wines. Our appetizer of crawfish crab cake was a special and was so good we forgot to take a picture! I had the salmon, my partner had the swordfish special and we enjoyed the bread pudding for dessert. Every bite of food was amazing! The portions were perfect! Not too much to where if you didn't finish you felt wasteful but definitely enough to get you full! My partner and I are mid 40's and were hands down the youngest people there by 15+ years. This was amazing because we were truly able to enjoy a midweek dinner together without chaos around us. The server also read my request on the reservation for a more quiet space and sat us appropriately. The chairs were extremely comfortable and the overall vibe is casual elegance. We can't wait to go back!

The ambiance was great at the entry point. Greeted by a most gracious hostess. The food was excellent and you knew it was prepared fresh. Thendessert was everything I expected.

Hidden Gem That Deserves a Loud Shout-Out Waypoint Seafood & Grill completely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and just upscale enough for a special night out without being stuffy. The service was top-notch--our server, Matt, was knowledgeable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely kind. The Food - Fresh ingredients, beautiful plating, and bold, balanced flavors. My cosmo cocktail was refreshing, and strong in all the right ways. Waypoint hits that rare sweet spot of local charm, elevated cuisine, and genuine hospitality. If you're anywhere near Williamsburg, this spot is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're celebrating something or just want an amazing meal, you'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

I don't believe they are dog friendly.

    Is it good for kids?

Yes! Big kids menu and $6 per meal.

It was like a Southern charcuterie board and was honestly pretty substantial. This started things off on a very high note. It was beautiful presented, carefully curated, and it tasted excellent. One question though, how are they not offering a ham sandwich with that amazing ham? What a highlight that was with their pickled onions. My husband had the catch of the day, which was sword fish and he ordered the pimento Mac and cheese on the side. I had a chance to try both and was very impressed. My father ordered the bone in pork chop, which is I must say, was the star dish. My mother had the cavatelli, which she actually finished and she never finished anything! And lastly, I had the burger, which despite asking for it to be medium rare I received it well done. It was still good and it maintained moisture, so I won't dock a point for that and the fries it came with were terrific. One thing is for certain, they clearly put a lot of thought into the menu. Every dish is clearly very well thought out. I really enjoyed the cocktails. My husband and I had a mojito and a strawberry mojito. They were both terrific. Initially though, my husband had ordered the horchata probibida. He asked to send it back because it didn't taste anything like horchata. As far as service is concerned, our waiter was excellent. Personable, knowledgable, friendly. You can't really ask for more. The ambiance was really nice. It had a polished, modern feel that made us feel comfortable to sit back with a cocktails and enjoy our time together. As far as I'm concerned, Williamsburg has no shortage of places that cater to visitors, but the Amber Ox is a restaurant that would be sought out regardless of the city that it's in. I highly recommend visiting here and this will be a place I visit again when I return to Williamsburg.

They only gave 7 shrimp, a little bit of fries and the coleslaw was nasty. The atmosphere here is quite different from the Myrtle Beach location. Instead of a beachy vibe, it has more of a colonial feel that fits Williamsburg perfectly.
