Food, Service=5, Ambiance=4 Thanks to Too Good To Go (TGTG), I discovered a new favorite bakery. One of their bakers, Jaime, who is a fellow FilAm helped me with my TGTG order and to help me learn more about the bakery. My TGTG surprise bag included a bag of savory turnovers and jalapeño cheese bread. Both super yummy. I added a bag of hazelnut coffee amaretti cookies, a tiramisu in a jar for my cousin, and the olive, tomato & truffle focaccia. There were so many savory AND sweet focaccia to choose from that appreciate Jaime's help. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their Palo Alto site is the original store. Shop is quaint, but not crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their inventory of goodies are carefully placed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was tempted to go on a shopping splurge. Instead, I hope to become a regular shopper bundling a TGTG purchase with other items in the store. I look forward to trying their newest site in Los Altos that is set up for dine in cafe.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute store, helpful service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I bought one item as a gift, and one item for myself --pistachio amaretti cookies. While I appreciate the quality ingredients and good chew of the amaretti cookies, these were too sweet for my taste. The sugar crystals overwhelmed the pistachio and I was hoping for more almond flavor.

My husband found this spot thanks to Yelp. We were in the area having an early dinner so decided to stop by here afterwards. There were no customers when we arrived. It's a cute little pastry shop with breads, ice cream, and cookies. Apparently everything is made fresh! The owner was very nice and friendly and let us sample some of their jar cakes. We ended up purchasing a Ruby Chocolate Jar Cake since we liked the strawberry flavor and it wasn't too sweet. We were told to consume it within the hour (I'm guessing since it has dairy in it) or refrigerating it. I would like to stop by again to try other items, such as their focaccia bread!

Picked up my very first TooGoodToGo order from GK Pastry and we really enjoyed it! Came in at about 7pm to pick up my order ($6.99) and they gave us the following two Focaccia: ~The Focaccia~ - Chocolate & Blueberry Focaccia: This one was our favorite! This focaccia had SO much blueberries in it, it was so good! Not too tart, and balanced the chocolate and cream cheese pieces perfectly. - Shiitake Mushrooms & Gruyere Focaccia: Savory, umami goodness. This bread had a lot of shiitake mushrooms and cherry tomatoes on it and balanced out the cheese really well. I love savory breads ands this did not disappoint. ~Overall~ Despite getting our order from TooGoodToGo, both breads tasted fresh and we really enjoyed it! It seems that the normal price of each bread is about $11, so it's a bit pricey, but I do think even that price would be worth it for how generous they are with their seasonings and toppings of each bread. I'd definitely like to go back and try out their different flavors. I also really appreciate how late they stay open for being a bakery; I feel like a lot of bakeries tend to close earlier (also since they start at earlier hours), but this bakery is open until I believe 8:30pm, so it's very convenient for those that may have to be at work until 5pm. Definitely recommend this bakery for anyone that wants to try some unique focaccia flavors!

I came here for a Too Good To go order a bit after closing time. Our order had focaccia bread (one big plain one and one with tomatoes and other fixings) STARS (stand out qualities) -Foccacia bread was flavorful and moist -One staff there was there was very friendly and offered to answer any questions I may have STAIRS (areas of growth) -Prices are high and would be good if they have promotional events for discounts -The staff said they only have chocolate cookies at Mountain View branch. I recommend they sell chocolate chip cookies at Palo Alto branch since that is a main staple cookie to offer TIPS -there is free street parking -You can try this bakery too good to go if you want to have more affordable prices on your first try I'm very tempted to go back to try their pistachio ice cream!

Stopped into GK for dessert for the family. I got the Apple Pie and Mixed Berry Jar Cake as well as the Blueberry cookies. The Apple Pie jar was my partner's favorite and the Mix Berry was my favorite. The Apple Pie Jar Cake has a great texture. The apples are so perfectly diced into tiny cubes. It has such a nice Apple Pie flavor. The cake part was also delicious. The cake part was fluffy and soft. I personally loved the Mix Berry Jar Cake more. The texture is so creamy and reminds me of the texture of Tiramisu. It had a velvet mouth feel. The service was great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the shop was very clean, tidy and made you feel welcome[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I'll be back! Hope other people will check them out too!

Gluten-Free Pistachio Jar Cake (8 oz)

Come support a small business with delicious, homemade desserts! I tried three jar cakes from GK Pastry: Tiramisu, Pistachio, and Mixed Berry. *Best enjoyed cold, straight from the fridge.* 1. Tiramisu had a classic coffee flavor that was light, creamy, and so satisfying. If you love coffee, this one's for you. It was my boyfriend's favorite. 2. Pistachio is their most popular, and I totally understand why. It was my favorite too. Creamy, soft, and quite reminiscent of many Indian sweets! 3. Mixed Berry was the sweetest of the three, with a thick layer of homemade jam, fluffy cake, and a creamy whipped topping with white chocolate shavings. You could even taste the little berry seeds. It felt like the perfect treat to savor slowly. I ended up enjoying a spoonful with breakfast each morning. :) All three were an absolute delight. I wish I had taken better photos, but we were too excited and had to dig in immediately! For my boyfriend's birthday, I put three little candles in the tiramisu jar cake and surprised him by singing happy birthday. It was such a sweet and cozy way to celebrate, and the perfect size for just the two of us to share. I found GK Pastry after work while searching for a bakery that was nearby. Thankfully, they were still open in the evening, and their jar cakes were exactly what I was hoping for. I originally planned to buy just one jar cake, but the service was so kind and thoughtful that I ended up going with a gift box of three. The gentleman at the counter was incredibly warm and helpful. He told me all the desserts are made by his mother and other family members, which made the experience feel even more special. He helped me pick flavors that weren't too sweet, which I really appreciated. When I made my purchase, he even gave me a cooler bag to keep the cakes fresh on my drive home. This bakery is not just about good desserts. It is about care, family, and a genuine love for what they do! Highly recommend.

Had no idea a little bakery was tucked behind this plaza- we wandered in & were immediately welcomed. The person working did a fab job explaining that they budge bread fresh every day & describing everything we asked about I bought a beautiful olive sourdough bread for myself & cookies and jar cakes for gifts. Everything looks amazing & the cookie samples were good. My friend bought a tea forte lovely gift box. Would love to return for the beautiful foccacia & try more flavors of jar cakes.

We split their zucchini and ricotta tart for a savory bite and the chocolate croissant as a baseline comparison vs. other bakeries we've tried. Both were super buttery and flakey, and I was quite impressed by the lamination on the croissant. My favorite bite had to be the tart, though -- the slightly sweet fresh zucchini went wonderfully with the buttery pastry and rich, creamy ricotta. The zucchini was tender but still had a bit of snap to it, which made for a fun combo of textures. There's not really any space to sit inside, but you can take your pastries out to one of the tables outside. It does get pretty crowded over the weekend, so you might have to get pretty lucky with your timing to snag a table.

It's simple but easily messed up by most places that have them. Flaky, ham was thin and broke apart easily, the cheese and inner soft portion mixed together was superb. I sat quietly and munched! I overheard regulars saying it was unusually quiet and not the norm? Regardless it was peaceful! HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS!!!…read more I am writing this review to both warn other customers and so that management sees this. I was at the MP location earlier this week and saw not one but TWO health code violations committed by employees. First, one of the ladies was drinking out of an open cup at the front where the food and beverages are prepared. This is against the health code! 113977. (a) Except as specified in subdivision (b), an employee shall eat or drink only in designated areas where contamination of nonprepackaged food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; unwrapped single-use articles; or other items needing protection cannot result. (b) A food employee may drink from a closed beverage container if the container is handled to prevent contamination of the employee's hands, the container, nonprepackaged food, and food-contact surfaces. The employee (brown hair in a ponytail, wearing grey Adidas) was frequently drinking a pink drink from a clear open cup behind the counter where the pastries are! Also, I saw the male employee behind the counter sneeze and use his bare hand to cover his sneeze. He rubbed his nose and sniffed. I was watching him from my table to make sure that he washed his hands. He went over to the sink behind the cash register and I kid you not, he turned on the water and for literally ONE SECOND put his hands under it. He then wiped his hands together to dry them. HE DID NOT USE SOAP TO WASH HIS HANDS AFTER SNEEZING INTO THEM!!!! Article 4. Handwashing 113953.3. (a) (2) After touching bare human body parts other than clean hands and clean, exposed portions of arms. (5) After coughing, sneezing, using a handkerchief or disposable tissue, using tobacco, eating, or drinking. He then went back to work grabbing customers' pastries. I'd really love for management to please have a word with staff/review training and protocols - please don't respond to this review with the canned "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have addressed this with our staff and we will take your comments into consideration." Please actually DO SOMETHING and ensure that all of your staff follow proper health code laws! Thank you!! :D
