Savory lunch things
Jamee S.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute little bakery inside the market plaza.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of variety for breads, cookies, sweet pastries and savory baked goods as well. They also serve sandwiches, quiches, and other lunch-type options. What makes them stand out is that they have quite interesting ingredients in their cookies! Their original chocolate chip cookies have apricots. Their double chocolate chip cookies have cherries. The cookies are huge (about the size of my hand) and they look amazing. You can tell. I didn't try the cookies until I got home and had dinner so about 7-8 hours later. Man, those cookies were still moist and delicious! Service is great! They also give out samples. I asked to try the Breakfast Bar. It sounded so good in the description with different grains, almond butter, and black sesame, plus it's gluten free. She gave me a big chunk to try. It was very good! I wish I had bought one. Next time!!

Pork and Shrimp Mando

I ordered the pork and shrimp mando. It was pretty big and had a lot of filling, which was great considering the price point. Unfortunately, the flavor fell short. It also wasn't seasoned very well, and even adding chili oil didn't really save it. The person working that day was also not very friendly. Really limited eye contact and interaction, which stood out compared to the other food spots in the hall where the staff were really welcoming.

Double Chocolate Chip Cookie

I had to pick up pizza in this area, and was hungry, so I stop by this bakery for a quick snack. They sell a variety of breads, salads, and cookies. I got the double chocolate chip cookie with cherries. This cookie was HUGE. I love how it's super soft and the cherries were a nice touch. It was a delicious snack :)

Seeded Bred Loaf

I love the style of the pastries / breads here: dense, heavy, not too sweet, high quality ingredients, lots of seeds oats. If the aforementioned isn't your thing, then this spot might not be your thing :) When people complain about prices it's like - OKAY, you can't compare a small batch local bakery to prices you get at a big box store - the margins are completely different when you sell at low volume. I'm totally down to pay 3x if it means supporting the small guys and keeping these businesses alive. My wonderful mother brought back a sourdough currant scone and a seeded bread loaf from this bakery - the currant sourdough scone was wonderfully flaky and dense. I am excited to try the seed bread as avocado toast!

Mushroom bun

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small little bakery vendor inside a diverse food hall![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You choose a selection of items and the baker can warm them up upon request. This mushroom bun needed the sauce that came with it

Little Sky Bakery is such a gem in Los Altos. The breads are amazing--full of flavor and that perfect chewy texture (the olive and raisin-walnut are my favorites). Their cookies are huge and delicious, and the mandos are super tasty. Everything tastes super fresh and made with care. A must-stop if you love good bread and baked treats. Super friendly guy at the front who walked me through options and helped me pick multiple items.

Little Sky Bakery is located inside the State Street Market, a food court on State Street. I'm posting my review on this Yelp business page because it is the the one that has the correct location listed. However, I'd like to point out that the business name is "Little Sky Bakery" and the Yelp page has the name misspelled with an extra "E" between the R and Y in the word Bakery. You can't miss this bakery, it is the first place on the left after you enter the State Street Market. They sell breads, sandwiches, cookies and more. Cookies may seem expensive at $6, however their cookies are HUGE. I don't think my photo shows how large they are. I picked up a Caprese Sandwich, which had tomatoes, mozzarella, and pesto. It was pretty good! I would get it again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of seating at State Street Market when I went there for lunch, on a weekday[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restrooms are available (and the restroom also has diaper changing station for the little ones).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is parking on the street or at nearby parking lots. I didn't have any trouble finding a spot.

First of all, I always enjoy coming to State Street market. It's nice that the bakery has a little booth inside this delicious food court. They offer many different choices from savory to sweet, and I'm sure they have a reputation for selling the largest cookies around. I decided to go for the veggie focaccia this morning which was very fresh because I got there right when they opened at 11:30. Exceeded my expectations: chewy, flavorful and filled with ricotta cheese. Highly recommended! I also tasted the healthy looking breakfast bar and was delighted by the flavor combination. I decided that I wasn't going to be healthy today but if you find yourself at a bakery regretting all of the less healthy options, this one is for you. For dessert, I'm going to indulge in a sourdough chocolate chip scone and given how much I'm liking the focaccia, I think I'm in for a treat.

Fun fact: Alyzée" is the name of the owner's daughter. It boasts marble counters, bistro-style tables, and outdoor seating on Castro Street to mimic the South of France. The owner recruited pastry chefs who relocated from France specifically for this endeavor. They also have monthly flavor, for example for May 2026: "Strawberry Bliss" cake. I totally recommend: mixed berry tart, coffee eclairs. The cakes and pastries are on the higher end price, perfect to surprise someone's birthday or special occasion or even to brighten your day with high quality artisan bakeries goods.

They have rotating seasonal items and also accept ordering larger cakes through online orders or by calling in! Their 100% pistachio cake is amazing - not too sweet and the pistachio flavor really comes through but doesn't overpower. Very creamy texture that isn't too heavy and has a fun, crunchy outer shell. The matcha raspberry is also nice and balanced - matcha flavor complements well with the raspberry gel / jam inside and is mellowed out by the cream. Inside is very chic and great place to chat and catch up over a cup of coffee and even get some work done - water station and wifi is inside.

They had a display of baked items at the window and a Chalkboard sign. I saw a ham and cheese croissant and was immediately sold. The young man worked at the window was polite and welcoming. I had time to kill but wasn't too hungry so naturally I ate something ‍ BEST HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT I HAVE HAD IN SOMETIME! No, really. It's simple but easily messed up by most places that have them. Flaky, ham was thin and broke apart easily, the cheese and inner soft portion mixed together was superb. I sat quietly and munched! I overheard regulars saying it was unusually quiet and not the norm? Regardless it was peaceful! Shades triangles above the picnic table, the side under the tree was occupied but I was happy where I was. We didn't go overly sweet because it was the morning, but I would love to come back in the afternoon to have a nice sweet treat and a cappuccino. For my family of three we definitely got over excited in order too much, but each bite was delicious. We got a leek quiche, a banana latte, spinach, artichoke danish, mango croissant, almond croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I was trying to increase the protein to not spike my blood sugar. Lol. I'd have to say the mango and the almond croissant were probably my favorite. The strong second would definitely be the artichoke and spinach croissant danish thing. Sorry, I forgot what they called it. They offered to heat it up a bit and I definitely recommend this. They did the perfect temperature for the perfect timing. Just enough to make the outside flaky and the inside warm and soft. The pieces that had cheeses were so much better warmed up. They definitely know what they're doing there. Seating was great. I'd love the decor. You can also order off of a menu, but we were too enamored with the actual pastries to even glance at it. I took photos but made sure to not take photos of the staff. I let the staff know that I wouldn't include their faces without their permission. they were very friendly and very appreciative.
