    Savory lunch things
    Jamee S.

Super cute little bakery inside the market plaza. Lots of variety for breads, cookies, sweet pastries and savory baked goods as well. They also serve sandwiches, quiches, and other lunch-type options. What makes them stand out is that they have quite interesting ingredients in their cookies! Their original chocolate chip cookies have apricots. Their double chocolate chip cookies have cherries. The cookies are huge (about the size of my hand) and they look amazing. You can tell. I didn't try the cookies until I got home and had dinner so about 7-8 hours later. Man, those cookies were still moist and delicious! Service is great! They also give out samples. I asked to try the Breakfast Bar. It sounded so good in the description with different grains, almond butter, and black sesame, plus it's gluten free. She gave me a big chunk to try. It was very good! I wish I had bought one. Next time!!

    Pork and Shrimp Mando

I ordered the pork and shrimp mando. It was pretty big and had a lot of filling, which was great considering the price point. Unfortunately, the flavor fell short. It also wasn't seasoned very well, and even adding chili oil didn't really save it. The person working that day was also not very friendly. Really limited eye contact and interaction, which stood out compared to the other food spots in the hall where the staff were really welcoming.

I had to pick up pizza in this area, and was hungry, so I stop by this bakery for a quick snack. They sell a variety of breads, salads, and cookies. I got the double chocolate chip cookie with cherries. This cookie was HUGE. I love how it's super soft and the cherries were a nice touch. It was a delicious snack :)

Really adorable pastries and bread shop tucked into the State Street Market. They also have some lovely sandwiches.

    Seeded Bred Loaf

I love the style of the pastries / breads here: dense, heavy, not too sweet, high quality ingredients, lots of seeds oats. If the aforementioned isn't your thing, then this spot might not be your thing :) When people complain about prices it's like - OKAY, you can't compare a small batch local bakery to prices you get at a big box store - the margins are completely different when you sell at low volume. I'm totally down to pay 3x if it means supporting the small guys and keeping these businesses alive. My wonderful mother brought back a sourdough currant scone and a seeded bread loaf from this bakery - the currant sourdough scone was wonderfully flaky and dense. I am excited to try the seed bread as avocado toast!

Small little bakery vendor inside a diverse food hall! You choose a selection of items and the baker can warm them up upon request. This mushroom bun needed the sauce that came with it

Little Sky Bakery is such a gem in Los Altos. The breads are amazing--full of flavor and that perfect chewy texture (the olive and raisin-walnut are my favorites). Their cookies are huge and delicious, and the mandos are super tasty. Everything tastes super fresh and made with care. A must-stop if you love good bread and baked treats. Super friendly guy at the front who walked me through options and helped me pick multiple items.

Little Sky Bakery is located inside the State Street Market, a food court on State Street. I'm posting my review on this Yelp business page because it is the the one that has the correct location listed. However, I'd like to point out that the business name is "Little Sky Bakery" and the Yelp page has the name misspelled with an extra "E" between the R and Y in the word Bakery. You can't miss this bakery, it is the first place on the left after you enter the State Street Market. They sell breads, sandwiches, cookies and more. Cookies may seem expensive at $6, however their cookies are HUGE. I don't think my photo shows how large they are. I picked up a Caprese Sandwich, which had tomatoes, mozzarella, and pesto. It was pretty good! I would get it again. There was plenty of seating at State Street Market when I went there for lunch, on a weekday. Restrooms are available (and the restroom also has diaper changing station for the little ones). There is parking on the street or at nearby parking lots. I didn't have any trouble finding a spot.

First of all, I always enjoy coming to State Street market. It's nice that the bakery has a little booth inside this delicious food court. They offer many different choices from savory to sweet, and I'm sure they have a reputation for selling the largest cookies around. I decided to go for the veggie focaccia this morning which was very fresh because I got there right when they opened at 11:30. Exceeded my expectations: chewy, flavorful and filled with ricotta cheese. Highly recommended! I also tasted the healthy looking breakfast bar and was delighted by the flavor combination. I decided that I wasn't going to be healthy today but if you find yourself at a bakery regretting all of the less healthy options, this one is for you. For dessert, I'm going to indulge in a sourdough chocolate chip scone and given how much I'm liking the focaccia, I think I'm in for a treat.

However, I will say that one good thing that has come from this movement is the plethora of innovative gluten free bakeries and eateries that serve up tasty products. I first learned about Sweet Diplomacy when my neighbors gave me some cupcakes from here that tasted amazing. When I looked them up, I was surprised to learn that they were in Los Altos as I live nearby and had never heard of them. The shop is very cute and homely and feels as if you are in someone's home kitchen. Although they seem to specialize in cupcakes, they also serve a number of other gluten-free and even vegan items. I should note that this bakery focuses on more desserts (ie cookies, cakes, tarts, etc.) rather than pastries (ie croissants and buns). I never thought that my new favorite go-to bakery would be a gluten-free one. As a Mountain View resident, I must say that it is also nice not to have to trek to Palo Alto in order to get some tasty cupcakes!

I was standing at the glass for a while before being acknowledged. Someone finally came over, and I asked if the Ube Black Sesame cookie was vegan since the display writing was a bit smudged. The staff member confirmed, so I got that cookie and a Gingersnapperdoodle since I loved it before. I also asked about the Brownie, but did not receive a very helpful reply. My question: Is the brownie very rich? The response: It's like any other brownie. I'm not a fan of chocolate items that are super rich, and some brownies are fudgy, but some are more mild. I'd expect someone working there to be a bit more helpful and descriptive. I ended up not getting a brownie. Lowering my rating because the service was subpar, and the Ube flavor was nonexistent in the Ube Black Sesame cookie. The Gingersnapperdoodle was still yummy like before, but had a more sandy texture than last time.

We checked in and were seated right away, and the setup was absolutely beautiful! They brought out our tea first, which we enjoyed while waiting for the pastry tower to arrive. Each bite was delicious, everything tasted freshly baked and made, and I especially loved that the pastries weren't overly sweet. Although we enjoyed eating the tower from top to bottom, next time we would probably go from bottom to top since we like to save our sweets for last! Of course, we couldn't leave without getting more pastries to bring home. They have plenty of classic pastries, like croissants, along with more unique specialties, like their croissant cube. Everything looked and tasted so fresh, with that perfect flaky, crackly texture. The pastries are a little pricey for bakery items, but in my opinion, they're definitely worth it for the quality and freshness. Overall, we had such a lovely time celebrating my grandma's birthday here and would definitely come back for more pastries!
