Excellent design and very well cared for course by the greens keeping team! While getting to the green is a challenge in regulation, then they also require skill to read and execute putts. Unfortunately, some players need to diligently repair ball marks on greens. The course is more challenging than most for my fellow golfers and me. However, I'm very happy to compete with the course playing GC. The cashiers, starters, rangers, course crew have always been cordial, zero negative. After having a bad experience at the orchards next door I was a little hesitant to play here at first but I'm glad I did. Played on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon and the course was wide open. played my last round at Glacier Club today. We first were told we could golf 9 holes but then arrived and were told we could only golf 18. It was $60 dollars and they booked tee times every 5 minutes. we had two tee times and 6 people. We ended up merging our two groups together because we were scrambling and waiting at every tee box. we had the ranger come to us and complain about the antics of having 6 people on the green. We reasoned with him that we were playing fast in the scrambling and just waiting at the tee box anyway. He quickly got mad because we were playing with our wives. The ranger came up and told the women that they could get a rain check and ride in the carts. This upset our group and we all ended up getting rain checks and leaving after 2 holes. A horrible experience and we will not be golfing there again. The clubhouse pro was very nice, the ranger was an absolute asshole. read more

A very challenging, fun course. 5th star was lost, only because quite a few of greens were in rough shape. All employees I encountered were nice. I would certainly try to golf here again. Ended up with coupons that brought cost down to $23 with a cart. Fun time ! read more

Slow! Is an understatement. Golf cart broken, and on a hot day, the cart should be out with water to purchase. With so many other great courses around, no need to come back to this course. read more

Glacier Club is a great course for three main reason. First being the design of the course is great the mix of getable holes, with the combination of select challenging greens make for a great round of golf. Second is the condition of the course there will be no need for relief, except for the usual PGA conditions for such. The course is kept in the condition that there may be an Amateur tournament held there that day. The third is the 5 different tee boxes this is uncommon for courses in the area, giving the golfer a chance to more accurately challenge themselves appropriately. All in this a great course to enjoy a great round, with friends. The overall speed is not terrible, the clubhouse does not over book. Would recommend that golfers in the metro Detroit area check out this great course and then go get a beer at brown iron right down the road. Cheers. read more

Nice course, terrible staff, we had an early 740 foursome and they booked a scratch twosome ahead of us and another twosome behind and we were stopped three times within four holes being told to hurry up or skip a hole, we golf 90's to low 100's and were keeping pace for an average foursome, to be stopped twice by a ranger and then the front desk guy coming out immediately after to lecture us further. we won't be back again. They even kept the cart girl from coming by after the sixth hole, if they can't handle booking or expect scratch golfers they should stipulate that ahead of time and we would have enjoyed our Sunday somewhere else. Thank goodness I didn't experience the 6-min tee times when I played, but it was still a 5 hour round. Not a surprise since they are now related to Black Heath, which is also home of the 5-hour round and tee times which are too close together. The real problem with the Glaciers is the goofy design (it used to be better before the redesign) and on this day, the greens were absolutely BEAT UP. They need to get on people to fix their ball marks. I'm not kidding, I could have fixed 20 ball marks on every green. At the sake of keeping things moving, I was fixing about 5 every hole. The design is just... not good. I'll start with not being a fan of courses cut through developments, and the housing here is VERY close to the action. But we start on #1, a par 5, with junk on the left, OB right, and big a$$ tree right in the middle of the FW. Pebble beach, you are not, Glaciers. Chop that tree down, it's ridiculous. There are a few holes like this that just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Every par 5 is a layup off the tee in my book, as the holes are just too tight to risk driver. There are also several forced layups which then require a longer shot into the green. I'm specifically thinking of #8, which even if you get to the end of the FW, it's a min of 150 in. I personally hate forced layups on long holes. There is ZERO risk/reward on #8. You MUST layup (unless you can carry it 310, lol). One word to describe the course is "tricked up". There's only a handful of straight-forward holes. On the good side we liked the fact that they had a grill going outside at the turn, and driving range is nice. read more

The course was in average condition. The greens were in decent shape but room for improvement. The employees for the most part are unfriendly. The starter and waitress were nice though. Had lunch after the round and there was something wrong with everything that came out of the kitchen. The cook should look up 'Rueben sandwich'. Apparently he has no idea how to grill bread. Left stuff off our plates, didn't include salad dressing or tartar sauce. Disappointing. read more

They've let Glacier Club go. Bordering on dog track now. Nobody repairs divots and they don't fill the bottles so you can't do anything about it. I repaired about 6 ball marks on every green and didn't make a dent. Range ball machine took my tokens but was empty. No score cards in the little mailboxes at 1 and 10. Carts filthy especially inside on the roofs. It looked like black mold. Pay attention management. Lot's of little things make on big thing - poor experience. read more

Disregard the negative reviews as people love to complain for no good reason. I played my worst round in nearly ten years and still had a great time on this fantastic course. The scenery is beautiful, design is challenging, and quality is very nice. There was only one green that was chewed up when we got to it. There is a lot of housing development construction taking place on several holes, however it did not effect our experience. We also didn't have to wait to tee off or to play our next shot while on the course. I had a ton to fun while playing this course and hope you will as well. Good luck! read more

I golfed here for the first time in years today. I booked it on golf now before I read the reviews. Then I read reviews that stated that the course was beat up with divots everywhere, and that the pace was crazy slow. These reviews are absolutely spot on. The the fairways are tore up and the greens have divots everywhere. But the real problem with this place is the 6 minute tee times. That's absolutely ridiculous. My tee time was 8:18am this morning and we didn't tee off until 8:45 then proceeded to wait at every tee box. I asked the starter how they could be 4 groups backed up at the 1st, at 8:10 in the morning and he told me about the 6 minute policy. Not his fault, but I'm sure he gets plenty of abuse because of it. It's towards the end of the season so the course condition can be forgiven. The stupid tee time policy can not. I love this course and play it frequently. This was my first time playing on a weekend. And it will be my last! We teed off 23 minutes late. When we were approaching 3 hours for our front 9, I called the pro shop to question the slow play and my fear of a 6 hour round. He assured me we were going to have a 5 hours round. And, in his 15 years experience, there was never a 6 hour round. Well, fortunate for him, the pace picked up a bit on the back 9. We didn't have a 6 hour round, just a bit over 5 1/2 hours. Still unacceptable!. Half our 4-some had to leave early. I'll be back on weekdays, but never again on the weekend. read more

The course it self is pretty nice but I will never come back due to how it's run. They over book themselves so bad if you play here on a weekend you will wait 15 plus on each tee box. Our tee time was at 210 for 2 golfers for 18 holes at around $50/ golfer. At 7 pm after waiting for 15 minutes on the 14th hole we just left. Course is isn't worth the money itself but the wait makes it 10x worse. read more

I usually play here a couple of times a year, but won't be returning until management understands how to manage a golf course. Who ever heard of 6 minutes between each tee time? We didn't start our round until 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time because there were 4 groups on the first tee box. When we arrived at the 5th hole after 1.5 hours into the round, there were 6 groups on one hole!!! On a positive note, the course is in good condition, but it was hard to enjoy the day because of the pace of play. read more

The home of the 6-hour round!! The course was in great shape but be prepared to wait. On a perfect day (no weather delays) our tee time was delayed 20 minutes and we waited on every shot. They stagger their tee times by SIX MINUTES so the course is congested and they do nothing to regulate slow play on the course. read more

The course it's self is good. But they run that course like crap. Tee times are mashed together. And I've played behind 6 somes multiple times. Including today. The rangers don't do anything about it. It is the slowest round you will play ever. I recommend staying away from this course. read more

My group of 4 has played The Glacier Club at least a few times every year for the past 10 years and we are not returning. The new ownership has really changed this place. On our last outing all three of the employees we interacted with had some degree of rudeness or were down right arrogant. I am writing this still a little stunned. I am an avid golfer and I have never had such a negative experience at a golf course. 0 stars for customer service. 2 stars for the improved maintenance of the course. This reminded me of a shop I worked at as a kid. I lasted 1 shift. Management created such a hostel environment that pissed off was the accepted norm from everyone. read more

i golfed your course today and for a place to charge what you expect people to pay, it was a very bad coarse it was ugly and unkept the grass was to long and all the hills were unsafe . you could not stand on the to steep hills and hit the ball in a safe manner, this coarse is not for the average golfer and to ugly for the advanced. i will never golf there again and will surely tell every person i know about your coarse. i give your coarse a d+ and have golfed on manny coarses that are more fun and not as much money. bruno read more
