For those of you who have been to Chi Spacca and ordered their Foccacia Di Reccco and loved it, then you are in for a treat. This place specializes in occacia Di Reccco, it costs about half the price (granted, its smaller in size) and it tastes absolutely amazing. I am definitely going to be getting this every time I come to Smorgasburg. I'd say the only downside is the wait time. When we ordered they said 10-15min when in reality it took about 25min.

Focaccia di Recco from Glad is the best thing ever. Going into Smoragsburg on Sunday, I *knew* I wanted to try it but my goodness! It was carb perfection with bubbling bursts of baked cheese. Chef Kaymakcalan trained under the legendary Nancy Silverton and learned how to do this craft. Let's just say he learned it, made it his own and expanded in the best ways possible. When you visit them at Smorgasburg, there is a "Focacettes" option for $18 to try 4 flavors of your choice. This is the right choice to try many types and discover your favorites. I tried a few and loved them all. The 'original' was simple but still so perfect and cheesy with stracchino, olive oil and sea salt. The leek n'duja was beautiful making me feel healthy with calabrian chili and pecorino romano, lol. My favorite of the focaccia flight was 'the sweet one' - OH.Em.Gee. I am very strongly going back to Smorgasburg tomorrow just to get that thing. So good. Ingredients included were sweet cheese, pistachio, honey, and mascarpone. Seriously the best combination for a meal end cap. I'm so obsessed with Glad! Now the big question, do I go back tomorrow for more?!

I ordered the Spinach & Bok Choy Focaccia at the Silverlake Farmers Market. Made fresh and hot to order. The focaccia is crispy and Bok Choy adds a nice refreshing crunch to each bite. Can't wait to try more options!

A husband and wife team serving delicious Ligurian-style focaccia that is made to order, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. Chef Cihan stretched focaccia for Nancy Silverton at Chi Spacca for years, and has perfected the style while adding a new dimension with the choice of several savory versions and a particularly impressive dessert iteration. Try them all!

I tried this rare type of focaccia once in my life and that was at Nancy Silverton's Chi Spacca. I never forgot the unique, layered taste of it. Then I closely witnessed that one of Nancy's apprentices, Chef Cihan, opened a pop-up restaurant only to sell those focaccias. Furthermore, he added bunch of other flavors! I had the chance to be one of the first people who tried his incredible focaccias and I ate until I almost passed out! These beauties are slightly crispy outside and fluffy and juicy inside. The taste is like nothing you've ever tried, but also feels familiar thanks to the perfect balance of dough, meet, veggies, cheese, oil and salt. Once you 'experience' one, there is no way to stop. I can eat here in the morning, at lunch, at dinner, or anytime I need a snack. It's extremely rare when you try a new taste and make it your all time favorite thing to eat. That happened to me with Chef Cihan's creations. I'll be back guys. Very soon!

Something so special about finding mature and refined tastes amongst a sea of over rich processed foods in Los Angeles. The breakfast plate was the perfect portion to start the day! The focaccia texture was to die for and the assortment of dips combined with the burrata were divine. Only criticism was not being given an eta for my order whilst battling the summer heat at the farmers market.

I'm very Italian & thought myself a pro when it comes to the Iberian palate. However, wow. I was unprepared for the goodness that is Glad's focaccia di Recco. Took about 15 minutes from ordering to receiving. I brought them home & reheated them for 5 min in a 450° oven. The dough stayed light & felt almost phyllo-esque yet with the bite of a pizza dough. Cheesy, flavorous, wonderful. Turns out there is more to be discovered when it comes to Italian cooking. These may not be the biggest portions, but due to the big flavors + richness, one focaccia di Recco per person is perfectly enough (but maybe next time I will get "the sweet one" to cap off my evening.)

    The best!

The pupusas here are so good always freshly made and full of flavor. I usually get queso con loroco and revueltas, and both are delicious and a good size. Four pupusas came out to about $12, which is super reasonable. If you order six or more, they do give a small discount, which is a nice bonus. Cortido & Salsa Options They give you two types of salsa one spicy, one mild and honestly, both are great. I usually go for spicy, but I tried both this time and loved them equally. The cortido is that yellow Salvadorian-style one, which I rarely see at other Salvadorian spots. My mom (who's actually from El Salvador) said that's the more authentic kind! Funny enough, she doesn't like the yellow cortido but she loves the pupusas here. Quick Service The lady working there is really nice and super fast. I ordered four pupusas, and she told me it would be about 10 minutes. I went inside Northgate to grab a few things, and by the time I came back, my order was ready in just about 5 minutes. Love that! Convenient Location & Easy Payment It's right in front of Northgate, so parking is easy. Most people just park in the lot since it's a quick stop. She accepts cash and Zelle, which I really appreciate because I never have cash on me. I've also texted her a few times to ask if she's open, and she actually replies, which is super convenient. Ambience It's an outdoor stand setup right in front of Northgate, small but clean and welcoming. The lady cooks everything right there, so you can see and smell the pupusas being made fresh. It gives it that authentic street food charm that makes it even better. Final Thoughts This little stand is honestly one of my favorite hidden gems. Great flavor, quick service, fair prices, and super kind people. Whether you're craving a quick bite or just passing by Northgate, definitely stop by and grab a few pupusas.

Just needs much more chicharrón inside for chicharrón con queso. My sons got beans and cheese and they loved them! This is a street vendor and looked like she was working alone so have patience even though she was pretty fast and we ordered 7 pupusas. She has a couple chairs for someone to go sit there and eat. So definitely not for a big family to eat there but take it to go and you're good! The ambiance is very street-style -- casual, noisy, and quick.

I just so happen saw it on Tock and thought I'd try it out because the menu sounded good and we want to support our local businesses as much as we can! Chef Aaron is without question a talented chef!!! We appreciated every amount of thought and creativity to put a meal like this together, on top of that making sure it is easy to prepare at home and still taste good! The quality of ingredients were top notch and the flavors were robust and perfection! The menu we had tonight is below. I'm not a gazpacho or melon fan but both dishes surprised me and we really enjoyed it. I also really liked the mushroom eggplant appetizer, and the Osso Bucco was wow! I could've just licked the au jus from the plate if I wasn't so full! Portions are very generous and the kits are very reasonably priced!! We will definitely try his other take out kit menus and once restaurants reopen and this whole COVID situation is under control, we will for sure be dining at his location! Please support our local chefs and try out Chef Aaron's take home kit which I ordered via Tock. I believe changes the menu weekly or so. Thank you Chef Aaron for an amazing dinner tonight! The private dinner parties are hosted in Chef Aaron's back yard. It is a very adorable back yard. He has a nice little garden that is just off to the side of the dinner table, and as it turns out a lot of the ingredients come from that garden. The concept of small garden to table and to be able to see the garden that your food comes from as you eat is wonderful and really adds to a great culinary experience. As it turns out Chef Aaron bases his menus of of what is local and in season, so with that in mind i wont go into what the dishes where as you most likely wont have the same meal. Chef Aaron truly is an amazing talent. Every dish he served us was not only beautiful put together and visually stunning he really does know how to construct a perfectly balanced dish that flow seamlessly into the next course. Along with his ability to server amazing dishes he knows exactly what wine too serve with his food. In our 6 courses we where poured 3 different wines and i now have 3 new favorite wines. Chef Aaron served me the absolute best dinner i have ever had, and when that was paired with the cozy back yard setting and the fun of a small dinner party it made for an unforgettable experience i can not wait to come back and see what magic Chef Aaron has cooked up!!

I'm so glad these are staple pies on a rotating menu because Wow!!! Probably two of the most culinarily creative pies I've ever had and the flavors were ingenious next level. It's like an iron chef decided to open a pop up pizza biz. The Funky Buffalo nailed the balance between the heat of a wing sauce (tempered down with the brown butter) along with the salt from the bacon. Add to it the funk of a perfectly portioned amount of blue cheese on top of mozzarella and the slight crunch of pickled celery (who would think of that?) made this 11/10 perfection. Every aspect of this pie was a well thought out masterpiece. The Bahama Mama Mia was another incredible pie. The play on the sweetness of exotic fruit with a honey drizzle against the spice and saltiness of the nduja sausage was sensational. An absolute must try if you can get a second pie to share. We also got a pepperoni polka to go and of course this was off the charts. Take your traditional pepperoni and add ricotta stars, pepper jelly and basil. I was done. Best ever. Definitely giving Pizza Daughter a follow to see where I can get my next bite. A million stars.
