We are so glad we stopped in Gladhill furniture. It's a beautiful three or more story showroom. And the best part is the sales people know what they're talking about. It was the first store we stopped in that could tell us what they had in stock and listen to what we needed and pointed us in the right direction. We went to three other stores prior. And the sales people didn't even know if they had specs, they didn't know what they had in stock. It was embarrassing. They don't rush you, have they listen and they watch. We were delighted. We were provided excellent service by Thomas during our visit. We discussed our unique space in terms of a rug for living room, kitchen, and dining room. He went to great efforts to think through various options in the showroom. A day or two later, he sent some other suggestions, too. Received a call to let me know it had arrived and scheduled delivery. The delivery team arrived as scheduled and I experienced no problems with them or the item I ordered. Purchased a custom Stickley sofa in February 2025. From beginning to end, Gladhill was fantastic. Setting up an appointment, the appointment itself, scheduling delivery, and subsequent delivery were made so easy and pleasant. Andrew assisted me during my visit and has extensive knowledge about Stickley and other comparable brands. He explained the pros and cons of each brand and we discussed what might be best for me based on my personal style and budget. He went to great lengths to make sure I would be happy with my choice by showing me a variety of options and styles. After I decided on a particular sofa, he helped me choose the most appropriate fabrics and trims. I'm someone who asks A LOT of questions and wants detailed information and Andrew came through by answering every single question I had and by imparting his own vast knowledge and experience (he had even visited the Stickley factory and shared what he had learned!). Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!! The Staff Sheila and Suzanne everyone around was there to offer you help!! Call Beforehand because if you have a handicap or can't do the stairs they have an elevator they will come out and escort you into the Store!!.... Everything was Very Nicely showcased from the recliners to the desks to get her mattresses and sofas and chairs and the mirrors. It was very welcoming and bright inside, it's 5 floors ..FIVE!!!! I went on every floor everyone and managers were just as helpful!! I felt safe as it wasn't packed at all!! They serve you freshly baked cookies LITERALLY and wine and tea and coffee!! the staff was in conversation very pleasant and wasn't about just a sale it was very chill . Purchased a recliner that was on sale on October 21 2023. Told by salesperson Sharon Heatherly, it was a brand new chair. Not a floor model. Husband went back to store to purchase another chair. The floor model had a "SOLD" sign on it with my name and information! She lied about it being a floor sample. The chair was on its way to being delivered to me. Called store. Owner would not take my call. Manager Sheila denied any wrongdoing. Claimed it was "misunderstanding " I call it FRAUD. read more

Gladhill Furniture - Our couch. - Mattresses Near Me - Middletown, Maryland

We purchased a couch, love seat, and recliner from Gladhill and the manufacturer is Stressless. We paid an EXTRAVAGANT amount of money for this furniture. We rate the furniture a 10 for looks and a 0 for comfort & stability. From the delivery, you could feel the wood frame on the seating. Gladhill tried to fix the problem, but could not fix it. Even after 4 months of use, the padding has gotten much worse, so much so, that we cannot sit on it and be comfortable. Gladhill's response is "we are not sitting on her couch properly ". Our feeling is you should be able to sit in any position and be comfortable. This furniture is so bad now that we are sick we paid so much money for new furniture and that it is worse than the furniture we got rid of. Gladhill has no resolution to the problem. We feel this furniture is so bad that it's actually a deffect in he manufacturing of it. We emailed the manufacturer and got no response. Don't be taken in by the good looks of this furniture because it is practically unusable after only 4 months of normal use. read more

I waited a couple of months to write this review in hope that I would calm down and I can't. I saw a beautiful armoire on Gladhills website (which had popped up through a social media site). I loved it so I called for a price. I waited a couple of days to make sure it was affordable and decided to make the purchase by phone. I received my receipt in the mail the same day as a phone call telling me they quoted the incorrect price and the piece was actually 3x more but I could use the money I already paid as a deposit. I slept on it and told a friend who explained that was explicitly against Maryland law. So I called back and they agreed to honor the price which included delivery. Fast forward to delivery day when it was determined that my furniture wouldn't fit on my elevator (my address clearly states the unit number as the 5th floor and I was never asked about the size of the elevator etc.). The head of the crew told me they would have to reschedule with a bigger crew to carry it up the stairs (which he thoroughly examined). Fast forward another couple of days and I was told that under no circumstances could it be delivered. I called the moving company that moved me into my condo a few months before and they quoted me a price and said it absolutely could be done. Gladhill said my movers could meet them at my loading dock and I would pay for the final delivery- white glove or gloves off? I recently visited another store and found a very comparable piece to what I had ordered from Gladhill for a very similar price. I was very explicit when I explained my home, elevator, steps and doorways and they were of course shocked and explained that clearly white glove service would carry it up if needed. I am 100% confident that Gladhill took the easy way out and was in clear breach of contract. If I had more time I would have taken them to court but writing this review so the buyer is aware is about all if the energy I have left to talk about Gladhill. I had fully paid and because of their blatant mistake Gladhill did everything in their power to give the appearance that I would get my beautiful armoire for our contract price. We all make mistakes but I still like to believe that most people (I spoke to the owner) like to make rights from their wrongs-not Gladhill. Stay away. read more

We bought some furniture and Gladhill is storing it for us while we complete some home renovations. Purchased a Hancock & Moore leather recliner 3 years ago. it was supposedly a $4,000.00 chair, but we bought the floor model for about $2100.00. A great deal and it was in perfect shape. About 2 years in the arms started to flake and the head rest was starting to discolor. See attached photos. 3 years in the headrest are was totally discolored and had a tear in it and the arms were still flaking. Gladhill's came and picked it up and said they would make it write with me. I get a call a couple of weeks later, saying it would be $500.00 to repair. I asked to speak with the owner, still waiting on that call. I filed a better business claim against Hancock & Moore but have heard nothing. If Gladhill would keep the chair in their showroom window as a warning to other customers, I would donate it back to them ! So frustrates and disappointed! read more

We ended up making our purchase from them because of David and their pricing was very competitive. They also had freshly made chocolate chip cookies that my kids loved! This review was a long time coming, but nonetheless here it is! Jim at Gladhill Furniture is an all-around genuine person, and he really did take good care of my furniture needs. I came in looking for a fresh start to begin a new life on the homefront. I found an amazing bedroom set that was a steal. Honestly, it was an AMAZING steal, but those weren't the only pieces I had purchased. The team at Gladhill helped me create a sectional-sofa specifically to not only my aesthetic desires, but also for the needs of my animal children whom love to climb, claw and fur-ball all the time! The overall atmosphere of the store is full of light and happiness! You will receive the most genuine team of individuals who work with you and all of your needs. The delivery guys were awesome! They are super personable with you as a client to the point that the retainment of me purchasing the rest of my wants and needs furniture-wise will continue over time because they make delivery so effortless and stress-free! One of the most bizarre shopping experiences of my life. I have been searching for a couch for a few weeks, due to covid I do lots of looking online. I went to Gladhills webpage and fell in love with a couch. I loved everything about it, including the color. I am a very decisive person and know what I like when I see it. I quickly researched info about the manufacturer, Flexsteel, a company in Minnesota, with a seemingly good rep. I then looked to see what stores in my area, in addition to Gladhill carried the brand, just one in Gettysburg , Colony. Ok great, so off to Gladhill my husband and I go. I figured I would go to Gladhill see it in person, sit on it and move on from there. Maybe then check out Colony as they do not advertise price, plus I needed to go to Gettyburg to the outlet for some shopping. I figured, I would compare shop and most likey go to Gladhill as they have a good rep (I thought). Next, my husband and I go into Gladhill, with the photo of the couch on my phone. A woman greets us (Theresa Anselmo) , I show her the photo and she walks us up the stairs. I sit on it and nod, "yep, its great." My husband sits on it agrees. I ask about the price along with info on the fabic as the floor model was a taupe and the photo was in the navy family. The saleswoman has a confused look on her face and mutters "I do not know." I then (again) show the picture and say "This fabric and color." She says "she does not know and begins to ask about where the photo was from? I try to explain again, how I saw the photo on the Gladhill webpage. She is confused as to what I want or the idea that I could actually look at a photo and know what I want. She says she does not understand. She is gobbsmacked and says, "we ususally do not discuss price." She doesn't ask any questions about where I am putting it or is it for me, instead she asks , "where do you live?" I tell her, "Frederick" rather perplexed by the line of questioning. I then, go into a step by step explanation of my buying process and what led me to Gladhills webpage and how I looked up the manufactuer, ( I accidently say the manufacturer was in Michigan) and how I made my decision based on a bit of research. She then leaves to bring back the price as well as (I thought) the fabric, she comes back with no fabric, and says "before I tell you the price, the manufactuer is not Michigan I do not know what you were talking about and I have to say, this is not how WE DO BUISNESS AT GLADHILLS, our customers do not care about price, I have never worked with PEOPLE LIKE YOU, what do you do for a living (in a calm and shaming voice) ?" I tell her I am a behavior specialist. She says "well I work on commision and my time is valuable and do not want to have my time wasted, we are not used to people like you here, we build relationships" At this point I am confused, I have not clue what the heck she is talking about. I say, "so you do not want to work with us because we inquired about the cost and I am looking for a sofa not a relationship per se" She does not answer. My husband says , "Wait you are being rude and we do not understand why, my wife and I, when making a purchase (from a place we have never shopped) usually get the info, , take your card, maybe look at another place to make sure it is what we want, then we would come back and buy it from you." I then ask "so do you not want to work with us?" I then ask the other saleswoman, who did not know what was going on to help us, and she says "I do not want to get involved." At this point my husband said "lets go," She followed me out talking to my back, I finally said "Please stop talking to me." We just got home from Colony where after showing the photo and explaining how we know what we want, the salesman said "You are my kind if customer, you know what you want." We bought the couch! The bottom line, according to the saleswoman at Gladhill, "they do not want people who ask questions about the price, they want people who want to "Build relationships" so if you are "those people" that asks questions about the price or are know exactly what you want because you have done your research, know what you like and do not , Gladhill is NOT FOR YOU. Surreal. I am still trying to understannd, why I was asked about my profession and being lectured about her time being valuable, I was planning on buying the sofa that day. I can say 100% how that exchange would have been different. If she was cordial and showed us the fabrics in Navy along with the price, my husband would have said "You, like it lets just get it here instead of looking more." But no, instead I was lectured by Theresa on how asking about the cost was wasting her time. I did ask her if she was the owner, and she asked do I want to speak to the manager, I said, no as I do not want to complain. This is my first and only review on Yelp, which says a lot about Gladhills. read more

I was in the market for some new furniture in my family room. My husband and I had heard great things about this store so we made the drive from VA to MD. It was well worth the drive. The staff at Gladhill is very professional and not pushy which is just what I like. They took the time to help us find the best fit for our style and taste. This store is HUGE and full of very nice quality furniture. We settled on leather furniture by FlexSteel and are very pleased with our selection.
