March of 2025 I handed these people my entire savings account. I work hard for my money. They do not care. January 2026 the car transmission gave out. It had been driving a little "off" a few weeks before it died. I kept up with oil changes but didn't anticipate needing to get the transmission checked as I was told it's in good condition. I took it to a reputable service center and they told me the transmission AND engine were bad when I bought it. I handed Gladstone Auto Sales my entire savings account for a lemon. The car was worth no more than $2000 though I paid several more thousand not to mention registration, fees, and warranty. The warranty they insisted I buy was a major ripoff!!! Registering the car was a nightmare because this so called "dealership" did not fill out the paperwork properly. All for a car that didn't even last a year. Do NOT put yourself through the horror of dealing with these people. PLEASE go anywhere else. I recently bought a new car from a reputable dealership. They were so pleasant to deal with and they were transparent! After being traumatized, I was nervous and even brought in reinforcements. It's been almost 3 months and I have zero complaints. In fact, I left them a 5 star review and told a friend about them. She's in the process of getting her new car there too. I served my country in the USMC for 24 years, I'm 66 years old. I paid my 2011, $14.000 Ford Edge off last year, with Santander credit Union, I had been approved for a car loan for $17,000. Gladstone Auto knew I had been pre-approved. Beware of this dealership, I have a TransUnion credit score letter, in the high 600 hundreds They DON'T want you to do financing with an approved high-quality credit Union, Santander credit Union. They want you to do the finance through them, so they can charge you a high interest rate I worked for Infiniti cars, in Costa Mesa California. I was an internet sales manager so I know about financing. Gladstone are horrible about returning calls , "Jeff" hung up on me three times, I sent many emails in regards to one of their vehicles, on Carfax where the vehicle was advertised not one time did I ever get a response back. Ruth, the finance associate told me three times, she would call me back, and never did. I had all my paperwork, as requested by Ruth, and was ready to do the 3 1/2 hour drive. I never got to speak to a sales associate, Gladstone Auto, is unprofessional. Do your research, on their vehicles! This is a must! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE! They're great at the game they play. I purchased an SUV from them after being told my car was "unsafe" to drive home. I have not even made my first car payment and even with their warranty have had to take it to the shop to be fixed. Which, by the way is owned by the same people who own the dealership. Warranty will not cover the costs. I was told by the dealership "That's what you get buying a vehicle with 100k miles. It is what it is." Request that they cover the costs since I have no even put 200 miles on the vehicle or owned it more than 30 days and I was told the new tires they put on it before listing it for sale was enough." Found a 1989 GMC Jimmy listed at just over $5,000 with a bit over 57,000 miles. This seemed strange for it to be so low on mileage given the year so we contacted the dealership for more information. We learned it had been owned by the Kansas Department of Corrections and used at one of the prisons. Knowing how well the Department of Corrections takes care of vehicles we decided to go check it out. We contacted the dealership to let them know we were coming (3-hour drive) and to get some more information. We were assured the vehicle was in great condition and drove well. Upon arrival, we noticed the vehicle was rusted out and would need a new paint job due to peeling paint and hail damage. The rust was not visible on any of the photos but was so rusted that it was not possible it was new. In fact, when we looked inside we found the floorboard to be rusted out. The back window did not go all the way up and it was clear the vehicle had not been cleaned (we were told the dealership obtained it in October 2018 - 7 months before we came to look at it). The worst issue, however, was finding all the maintenance records in the center console. RIGHT ON THE FRONT OF THE FOLDER, it said to at 62,000 miles to the odometer due to engine replacement. The paperwork in the folder when back to 2005 and had mileage listed in excess of what the odometer showed. The vehicle itself actually has over 120,000 miles on it. The salesman acted shocked and called his boss. They said in all the time they had it they never looked in the center console and had no idea. Keep in mind that one of the papers in the folder was from the auction where they bought this vehicle and the rearview mirror which was listed in the vehicle description was actually in the center console. They "now know" about the mileage issue but the vehicle is still on their website listed at having 57,000 miles and no mention of a new engine. They also don't mention that they had to replace the gas tank and fuel pump. We found out about those when the salesman let it slip they had done that work to get it running. This is a lemon and it's clear Gladstone knows it. I would never trust them for any vehicle. read more

I did not do my research on Gladstone Auto Sales before my purchase and it cost me $2.6K in immediate repairs. I wish I would have! The starter went out in the first 24 hours. I had to get it towed to the shop to repair. Once it was in the shop, they did a full once over and informed me of about $2600 worth of repairs that needed to be done. Some of them was regularly scheduled maintenance (oil change, filters, transmission fluid, spark plugs) that looks like hadn't been touched for years, others were things like brake pads, CV boot, struts on and on. When I went back to Gladstone Auto to pick up my title, I let the nice lady, Ruth, at the front desk know that we had some maintenance issues. She called in Jeff (the owner) for me to talk to you. I let Jeff know of the maintenance that I had to get done and he asked me for the itemized receipt. I showed him that and his response was "you can't expect me to maintain the maintenance on ALL these cars". He fully acknowledged that he knew that the rear brakes were metal on metal, but the front brakes were new. It did have new tires. He made sure pointed that out, but that was the only maintenance that he could say had been done to the car while I was at Gladstone auto. Avoid this place! read more

I'm actually surprised no one has litigated this business yet. I was just over there to look at a 2010 Camry that has/had 25,000 miles on it. The car is thrashed! They had another one just like it that has 85,000 on it, and looks mint in comparison. So.... I started looking on my phone while I was there for other "low mileage" vehicles. Sure enough, I looked at two others that were nearly 15 years only with less than 40k miles on them, and they both showed signs of previous water damage (water lines were evident on the door plastic and spare tire well). Vehicles that actually look this good with low miles are sold to dealerships, not places like this. As a repair technician I can assure you that if you see a vehicle on this lot with "irregular" low mileage, it is probably a fraud or a lemon, and you better have the eye to spot it or you're going to get ripped off. read more

Finally found a lot with 2 cars that qualified- called and spoke with Ruth who guided us through the process of making our decision. First time for us buying off the internet and so glad we did. We recieved our 2011 Lucerne today with 37,000 miles and it acctually looks better than the pictures. The driver was very helpful and made sure we were completely satisfied. My daughter wanted an older model Toyota Highlander and we found a really nice one on one of the car sites at this dealership. Used cars are going quickly these days so she allowed us to put a small down payment on it to hold it until we could get there. (We live over an hour away) We have a friend that lives in the area that went and test drove it for us. There's was no negotiation, it was listed at a fair price. We drove down did the paperwork quickly and we were on our way. They were very nice to work with, the car was really clean and in good shape. DON'T TRUST!!! Tom and Jim tried to pass one over on me when they were willing to sell me a Pontiac with a false carfax report. They evidently bought a junker in Texas (and possibly a totaled car) and then had it refurbished by a shoddy body shop in KC. They presented me with a clean carfax and never mentioned the car having been it having been in a severe wreck. Thank god, the independent mechanic that I brought it to was able to see the salvaged parts, the missing lug bolts, the new control arm (needed because one of the wheels had been so badly damaged in an accident that the prior arm must have been cracked or broken), the bondo and plastic that made up several panels on 3 sides of the exterior. Don't let these guys folksy and friendly manner fool you! They would have let me put my son in this piece of crap car and not thought another thing about it! read more
