Donuts are set at a good price. But they do not taste fresh and don't get warmed up unfortunately

Since I don't learn my lesson and decide to drive to work on a Monday morning in heavy traffic,…read morethat drive is a 2.5 hour drive to Pasadena. Anyhow, it gives me a reason to stop at... (you guessed it) a donut shop!!! I stopped at Pronto Donuts in Azusa to take a driving break. The donut shop was full and there was a line inside. I got my usual, 3 chocolate donuts. They were good and fresh. I did like that each donut was only $1.50 which is a really, really good price for donuts!! I think this is the most cost efficient donut I've seen in the last couple of months. The donuts made me happy very happy!! Service could have been more friendly, but I suppose they were in a hurry since they were busy. Plenty of parking in this plaza.

My favorite mom and pop donut shop in SoCal. Fast service, delicious donuts, and amazing staff…read more If you want fresh donuts anywhere in the area of Azusa, Covina, or Glendora - this locals spot is my go-to. Pronto is right across the street from the In-n-Out and has the best Old Fashioned donuts, amazing Buttermilk bars, Chocolate and Vanilla donuts, Bear Claws, Powdered donuts filled with cream, lemon, or raspberry, and so many more styles of donuts and pastries. On Saturday and Sunday they serve up the biggest Tiger Tails I've ever seen. You will not find a Tiger tail donut as huge, crispy, and delicious anywhere else... not even on Route 66. And they certainly beat the prices of any local Route 66 donut shop. You will fall in love with the hardworking woman at the counter, who is almost always there taking care of this small, but perfect doughnut shop. She has a few seats for patrons to sit and enjoy their coffee and donuts, sandwiches, or just to watch the live Hot Spot Lottery Keno on their TV. (And did I mention they sell the lottery tickets here, too!) The parking lot is definitely tight in this plaza, but I always find at least one spot in the lot or you can park on the side street.

I had a lovely experience at Azusa Donuts. I ordered the Chocolate Heart w/ Sprinkles Donut…read more($2.00) and the Sugar Donut ($1.75). A bright smiled tugged along my lips on my first bite. It's so fluffy!! (Important: Bring cash! There's a 50 cent fee for card.) I arrived at Azusa Donuts (Azusa) on Friday (around 7:05AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big . Staff is exceedingly personable and welcoming. "Good morning, my friend!" is a common phrase. Staff maintained a bright smile & playful attitude as sudden waves of customers poured in. Staff spoke English and Spanish. I was helped immediately. As mentioned, I enjoyed the Chocolate Heart w/ Sprinkles Donut ($2.00) and the Sugar Donut ($1.75). To my immense surprise, it all tastes very fresh. I adore how the Heart Donut's chocolate glaze comes wet and creamy; its sprinkles add a fun, light crackle. The Sugar Donut is even packed with plentiful sugar; sugar cascades down my chin with each greedy bite. Its fried batter tastes clean and fresh. These donuts are also very fluffy! "YUM!" Concerning ambiance, Azusa Donuts (Azusa) is simple and comfortable. There's a few indoor tables; however, I observed how most customers ordered to-go. It's fairly clean with shiny tables, crisp windows, and well-swept floors, but its interior is fairly generic. Azusa Donuts (Azusa) also has no customer restroom. And there's no music. This business's main sound derives from the loud, humming fridge. Fortunately, the cheerful & friendly greetings and banter from the staff helps alleviate the drab atmosphere. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Azusa Donuts (Azusa). During my visit, this spot felt like a guarded treasure by its locals. The goods are affordable; the staff is kind & welcoming; and its donuts are delicious. There's passion ringing within these walls. If nearby, I wholeheartedly recommend. 4.9 out of 5

After we went to our usual donut spot thought we'd try another one. 3/5 Selection Slim picking as all the shelves were empty except what was on the photo. 3.5/5 Donuts Glazed were soft and fluffy. Sprinkles was a bit hard. Ham jalapeño and cheese croissant was good and they warmed it up for us. There was a hair inside the paper. 5/5 Parking Plentiful spots to choose from. Overall a classic donut shop with indoor seating options. Not sure if I'd swing by again with the hair. Psalm 118:26, God bless

I went in on January 6 to pick up a Rosca de Reyes, and honestly, it was not what I expected at…read moreall. The bread was extremely dry, almost stale, and it ended up being one of those situations where nobody even wanted to take it home. At first, I thought I scored a good deal because a large rosca usually runs around $40-$50, and this one was closer to $33, but now I understand why. With something this traditional, especially something people look forward to once a year, the quality really matters, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark. I didn't try any of their other pastries, and to be fair, maybe those are better, but Rosca de Reyes is such a staple that it's hard to excuse when it's done poorly. It actually hurts to write this review because I want local bakeries to succeed, but I also feel like I need to be honest with myself and with others who might be deciding where to buy theirs. On a positive note, the staff was very kind and welcoming. The bakery itself was empty when I went, and it's tucked into the corner of a parking lot, so it's easy to miss if you don't already know it's there. I'm sure regulars know exactly where to park and how things work, but for a first visit tied to such a special tradition, the experience just didn't deliver. There wasn't really an ambience for customers other than a very busy kitchen. There was just nobody there when I went.

Thumbs up for the most truly authentic Mexican Panaderia in Azusa !…read more Mexican from ELA I had not found a good panaderia in this side of town. Tried one in Covina but blah, so I always had to go back to ELA La Favorita !!! Yummmm yes go there too lol, until last year or the year b4 by accident. So glad I did ! I was craving Pan Dulce and Yelped of course and found this place and had to try it. If you want authentic pan dulce in Azusa, this is it ! Skip the Mexican markets, that bread is stale and does not taste authentic. Am I right or am I right ? As a kid when we went to Jalisco, my grandma always took us for pan in the evenings :D yummmm That's where my love of pan dulce comes from ! It's her fault lol Even though she made us walk like 2 miles just for pan & chocolate calientito yummm lol Sometimes I didn't want to go. Now in retrospect, the walking was a good idea you know, all the carbs ! Haha Well this place reminds me of those yummy times. :D For me, I love conchas, cuernos, & this round bread that looks like it has dust on top. I just forgot what's it called lol and it's my favorite to dunk in cold milk or warm chocolate abuelita. Ugh I can't remember what it's called ! After a long moment of thinking lol Oh yeah ! CEMITAS or is it Semitas!!! I don't know but Yummmm !! Some people I know don't like them cuz it's plain or never tried it, but it has like fennel seeds or something spicy like cinnamon baked into them because I love them & as a child I always chose that one & cuernos ! Like I said, dunk them in super cold milk or warm chocolatito abuelita and you can't go wrong ! They also have the best cuernos !!! What am I talking about ? Let me ESplain lol ( in the voice of Ricky Ricardo, I Love Lucy, hehe who else loves Lucy & Ricky? ) Cuernos are basically CROISSANTS ! YESSSS ! Yummm ! So yummy flaky & buttery ! I want some, but I can't have them anymore but you can ! So go have some for me and let me know if you love cuernos as much as me ! I once met the owner very friendly :D He's from Jalisco, if I remember correctly. Enjoy your pan dulce ! Let me know if you loved it & are addicted now lol Yummy eating
