Both cake and yeast donuts are fluffy and have a good chew. I Love their tiger tail. It's huge and full of cinnamon flavor, but be warned that their version contains walnuts, unlike all the tiger tails I've had at other shops. I had a good experience at Donut Queen (San Dimas). I ordered the Cinnamon Crumble Donut ($1.75). It's fresh with good ingredients. The donut is soft yet springy, and the cinnamon is bright but not overpowering. YUM! (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 75 cent added fee for card payments.) I arrived at Donut Queen (San Dimas) on a weekend (around 2:12PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE. Staff is alert but welcoming. Staff is quick to react, but Staff maintains a friendly demeanor and a kind smile. Staff works hard. On ambiance, Donut Queen (San Dimas) is surprisingly comfortable since it's fairly clean and well-ventilated. An extra fan was stirring in this business, so the interior didn't feel warm and stuffy. The location does look aged, but it feels fairly well-maintained. There's about three tables, and there's no customer restroom. Fortunately, there's a big bottle of hand sanitizer near the counter. I happily sat and munched on my donut. Overall, Donut Queen (San Dimas) feels like a business still with passion and integrity. There's genuine effort on these donuts. I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Queen Donuts deserves to be shared. I ordered a glazed twist donut, and what I received was, hands down, the greasiest donut I've ever encountered. One bite in, and it was completely saturated in what tasted like old, overused oil--it literally made me gag. I walked back in to speak politely with the gentleman behind the counter, showed him the donut, and explained the issue. Rather than offering a replacement or even acknowledging my concern, he defensively told me, "That's what a donut looks like." As if I've never had a proper donut in my life. He then went on to say, "If you don't like our donuts, you can go elsewhere." So... I will. Whether this was just a bad day or indicative of their usual customer service, I won't be returning--and I'd strongly recommend others consider different options too. Honestly, maybe it's for the best. I was already trying to cut back on sugar. Let this be a lesson in both diet and customer service expectations. We have been coming to this donut shop for over 5 years - never disappointing. Their donuts are fluffier and less greasy compared to other local stores. I go for the traditional sugar donuts whereas my kids love their donut holes, chocolate cake donuts and croissant sandwich. I've bought their donuts for events at work multiple times and received many compliments on how much better they are than Winchell's. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Today I got the chorizo and egg burrito with potatoes. Im so glad I got the burrito. It was so tasty and not greasy at all. The hot sauce that comes with the burrito compliments the burrito. Though it doesn't need the hot sauce to add flavor. The burrito is good all by itself. Looking forward to trying the other food and drinks on the menu. Now...the donuts. It has changed ownership and appearance several times since I was a child, but the donuts have always remained consistently delicious. My brother likes to get their breakfast croissants, which I can't vouch for, but they're his favorite thing ever, so? I can vouch for the buttermilk donut (best ever), maple and chocolate raised, raised and cake crumb, and many other cake donuts. You can't go wrong, really. They're always polite and fast, and I visit 2-3 times every time I visit my hometown. The younger woman that works here always helps my family out when we go in for breakfast. My youngest daughter and myself love the bagels while my eldest daughter and my husband love the donuts, Boba, and the other breakfast items that they serve here. It is clean in the store and after you order your food they make you wait outside to comply with social distancing rules right now. I see this as a plus for right now because the store itself is quite small. The lady that helps us is really sweet and patient with our large orders. The prices here are pretty fair, not too expensive at all. All of the items are always fresh and yummy. We have never had a bad experience here with either the service or the food. So on my way to work I stopped by this donut shop last Friday 9/11. I knew I found a good place for donuts when in the parking lot there is a lady happily hungerly munching on a donut outside of her car. I approached the middle aged woman and asked her if she liked her donut and she started laughing. She told me that she made a special trip here just for their lemon filled donut, as it was soo good but too messy to eat in her car. I thanked her and went inside to order a dozen. I also ordered an apple fritter as that is my favorite but just asked to get an assorted dozen. Sadly they did not have the pistachio strawberry donut others reviewed, so I can not attest to that. However the apple fritter was deliciously fresh, crunchy, soft with lots of cinnamon and apples and huge!!! This looks like a family owned place and everyone seemed nice. One lady did not speak English very well but tried her best. There were signs about wearing a mask and social distancing to comply with Covid, the workers were also masked and gloved. Drove here from Covina based on the reviews in hopes to try one of their specialty flavored donuts... specifically the cherry pistachio. Maybe because we were later in the morning - 9:40 or maybe we blame it on the pandemic, but there were no cherry pistachio donuts or other uniquely glazed options. We asked about the cherry and just got a "no". They did have 1 fruity pebbles glazed donut - so we got that. Everything else seemed to be your run of the mill donut shop. Definitely not worth a drive. The fruity pebbles were flavorless...were they fruity pebbles or a generic knock off? But more of a problem they were stale. You know that chewy not crisp thing with rice cereal...so disappointing. The only thing that saves this review, and why I gave 4 stars instead of 2 is due to the donut under that sad topping. Their raised donut was delicious. So soft moist and had something special about it. So, apparently I will be driving back to compare their basic donut to others' basic donuts. A definite maple, a citrusy orange, a rich dark chocolate . Jelly filled are fine. Not gushing with jam but enough in each bite. I haven't tried the bagels or croissant yet, but they do look fresh and soft. The breakfast burritos seem to be popular. I first stopped in while doing laundry in the same plaza about 6 months ago to grab a quick bite. It was around 6PM, I got a sandwich, their iced coffee and some donuts to take home. The croissant was so fresh, the sandwich tasted heavenly, even though it was filled with fairly simple ingredients. The lady and gentleman running the place are some of the sweetest people I've ever encountered, literally. They are always so kind and thankful for your business. Me and the wife went to the same laundromat yesterday and I knew she just had to try out the sandwiches here. She was also blown away at how fresh and tasty everything was. We left them a tip and they were so grateful that they gave us a little bag of donut holes for free. This is the perfect little shop, it feels warm and authentic, they have some really nice paintings on the wall as well. The owner (I'm assuming) is this sweet asian lady and she's always so happy to greet me when I step into her donut shop. I always get the same thing. #8 with extra Chilli's on the side. It's my favorite thing there! I always add a sugar donut or something. I sometimes get half or full dozen's for coworkers as well. Their coffee is pretty good too! Today I came in on my first break from work at 9am, I ordered a turkey breakfast sandwich on a croissant, and two donuts for my co-workers. I got back to work and to my dismay, realized I received a turkey deli style sandwich on a croissant. I called and informed them of their mistake, they suggested I come back with the sandwich and they will remake it. I informed them that I'm looking at a 16 hour work day, and I would not have another break until evening, and I don't know if I'd be available to travel down there at that time. The lady on the phone said, "okay, just bring my sandwich back either today or tomorrow Morning and I will make yours" I repeated it to her several times because I could not believe what I was hearing. It's such an inconvenience on so many levels. It's now 940 am and I'm hungry.... I utilized my break time to grab a breakfast, that I never got .... Now you want me to use my second break to travel, again, or use my break tomorrow .... To pick up my original order, but not unless I bring "your sandwich back". What am I eating from now until this evening? Im just a bit perturbed. Granted, I could have checked my order before leaving the doors, but I digress, so for a mistake that is not solely my own, I have to now be inconvenienced, AND hungry? Is this "good" Customer service? Being adamant about me bringing your $6.00 sandwich back? Before rectifying a situation you took majority part in creating. No, good Customer service would be simply remaking my sandwich, even remaking my sandwich at half price, remaking my sandwich at a later time at full price with a free $1.50 donut...
