It was fairly easy to find though going there, my map told me to go down a treacherous gravel road which I wasn't terribly fond of. They have a moderately sized parking lot and you'll see this large, red barn. That's where you get your goodies (there's often a line) and where their store is. We stopped by for a treat first. They sell ice cream, cider floats, and what is a "TikTok famous" coffee float with donut. We got: Cider ($4) - I didn't actually drink this. I got it for my kid with food allergies. He wanted ice cream but they do not know if the ice cream they use contains eggs or not so we played it safe. My kid thought it was okay but finally finished it later. He typically prefers regular apple juice. Cider float with donut - you have a choice of no donut for $2 less. It's like a root beer float but with cider instead of root beer, black and orange sprinkles around the time of the cup, whipped cream, and a powdered cider donut over it all. I shared this with my daughter. That donut was delicious! Warm, tender, and crisp on the outside. The drink was great! I do wish it came with a spoon because it got difficult finishing the last of it. Warning: if you have one of these, the bees are coming for you. They use some sort of caramel-like sauce to get the sprinkles to stick. Overall, quite good. Maple cider donut ($3): my sister got this and she said it was amazing, but she said she thought $3 was a bit much (the unglazed donuts are $1.25 each). She's vegan, so didn't partake in the float, but she also wasn't going to ask if there's milk in the donut. If you're getting only donuts, they are purchased in the store. They have tables and chairs nearby for you to picnic and enjoy your treats. Going through the gates, there was a table but they were busy with other people so we walked right in. There is no entrance fee, which was nice. You go through the apple orchard first. It seems like most of the apples have been picked through, though there are a lot of developing apples. Some of the nicer ones were way too tall for us; they don't provide ladders. We only managed to find one that looked nice. At the end, there used to be a sunflower field and the corn maze. It's epic but you don't know how formidable until you're past the point of return and realize it's not a kids maze. We were in there for a while! Even met other kids that thought they'd be lost forever. The corn stalks are taller than a human and they're pretty dense so you can't look over or through them. It's a true maze and I was impressed. I wish they would provide a paper maze puzzle of the corn maze because I'm so curious how it is from above. Lots of dead ends. What I can say is don't lose hope. You'll get there! (When we finally found the exit, it was almost like a dream because we had been staring at corn for so long.) In hindsight, it was good we ate something first. Once done, we explored the sunflowers and saw the pumpkin patch. As we headed out, we went to pay for our lone apple and we discovered THE CORN MAZE IS NOT FREE. It's $10 per adult and $5 per kid. They charged us $1 for the single apple. I guess they work on the honor system? I didn't mind much because that maze clearly took planning. Before we left, we visited the store full of baked goodies. I got a few cider donuts, a dumpling, and a piece of crumb cake because they just brought out a fresh tray. Plus a lattice harvest pie. The pies with crumble aren't vegan, but the lattice pies are made of vegetable shortening. Restrooms! They have a row of port-a-potties by the parking lot. They're actually the cleanest ones I've been to before. No sinks but they do have a dispenser of antibacterial hand gel. The openings are a bit large so if your kid needs to use the toilets, hold onto them. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and I definitely think everyone should go through a corn maze of this caliber at least once in their life. The apple pickings were sparse but at least you get delicious floats and donuts! Note: they have gluten free goodies in the store but they are nut based (almond flour). They also had one gluten free-vegan item.

I've come here two times.The first time was okay. We were a party of 4 coming for a dinner. Saturday we were greeted by a host Diana I believe was her name. She did not seem happy to be there or that she had to accommodate us. We sat down in the dinning area and had a polite server. There was an issue with my boyfriend's dish a manager came over and smelled like alcohol and cigarettes. Overall the food was good, decent drink selection and the place looks clean. Bathrooms were a little messy but I get it's a busy night. Since the bar menu intrigued me, I wanted to come back and experience the bar even after my negative experience with the hostess. On a Wednesday night me and my boyfriend came back for a drink a few weeks later the first time. Walked in, no hostess to great us We sat ourselves down at the bar. There is a decent beer and wine selection. The bartender was nice I forgot her name was blonde female. We both had wine. This is where it went downhill. I overheard a conversation between a man sitting at the bar next to me and an another employee that was really inappropriate referring to females. The guy sitting next to me was clearly intoxicated and should have been cut off. I saw employees drinking. I overheard the gentlemen next to me at the bar bad mouthing the place saying they never get the orders right and the manager is too young and rough around the edges blah blah. What a shame my experience was here. This could have been a regular spot for us since my boyfriend just moved around the block but we definitely won't be returning again. read more

I often visit the Gladstone Tavern for lunch with my friend and we have never been disappointed. We are always greeted with a smile at the front door and taken to a table in the dining room or seated comfortably at the bar. Drinks are expertly prepared and delivered with a few pleasant words from the server who takes an interest in those being served. There is never a rush to place an order for food or drinks and when requested, the well-prepared staff offer suggestions on the menu choices. Delivery to the table takes five minutes or a little more, depending on the crowd "demands". This is an excellent time for conversation with a friend or nearby patrons. Food is prepared to order and not being held in warmers as in a dinner or cafeteria. Desert choices are unusual, tasty and visually, they are works of art. Fresh ingredients, expert preparation and service; I will return often to enjoy the Gladstone Tavern experience. read more

First off, I am a local for over 20 years and gladly patronize all of the restaurants in the general area. I have to say that the Gladstone Tavern is Amateurish food at the very most. Supermarket grade steak with institutional onion rings and even the burgers were sub-par with cold French fries. Calamari was super greasy (oil temp too low in the fryer) most likely. The soup special for the night was Pumpkin soup which I like so naturally I ordered it. Sadly received split pea soup. It was one disaster after the next. I always think twice or three times before leaving a negative review as I know it is not easily received by ownership of the establishment but this information needs to be made public. Stay away at all costs. No atmosphere, patio or deck can make up for food this bad. read more

Called for reservations and at first said there were NO availability inside until 9:30pm so I said no thank you. The woman said wait there is an opening INSIDE at 7:30 pm. I said ok. I went for dinner and was there at 7:25 pm. The last said she can offer me outside in the "rain" or wait until something opens within next hour!!!!!!!! I was very upset!!! The "outside" cover patio they promote is terrible !!!! Rain coming through, puddles inside and HARD HARD metal chairs. Terrible. You think they could put padding on the chairs atleast and fix the holes in covered awnings at the very least. It's ok to turn away business rather than ruin it -I will NOT be back. read more

We had the best dinner her last Saturday! They have an amazing covered terrace that was perfect for outdoor dining on a nice night. In my opinion, the food here is SO much better than anything in the area. They source a lot of their ingredients from local farms and are always updating their menus to include seasonal produce. I always get the chopped salad to start and it never disappoints. They also have a great kids menu that has more options than just your standard chicken fingers and fries. We had to wait a while for our drinks. the waiter said the bar was backed up. the waiter got a bit frazzled by order changes and questions about substitutions. We did have a large group so that can be challenging on even the best nights and this was a busy one. The food was decidedly mediocre but we had a great time anyway. The seating was comfortable and the separation between tables was excellent. Delicious Thanksgiving meal Ten of us went here for the Thanksgiving dinner. It was amazing! The setting was beautiful, the restaurant lovely and the fireplace was roaring. The drinks at the bar were deliciious, especially the martinis. The meal itself started with the most delicious pumpkin soup. The sides and meats were wonderful. If I had one complaint it would be to leave a gravy boat on the table as none was offered. The desserts were also fabulous! The pumpkin pie ice cream was heavenly. I love this place! My girlfriends and I have been frequenting this place for years! The prices are not too expensive and the food usually has been good. Last week we had to wait for our dinners and when they arrived the meat was overcooked. Thought it was an off night, until we tried again this past weekend. Salads looked old with too much dressing. The entree came out well over cooked. But the wine was wonderful. The staff is accomodating and very helpful. We will stick to the Bar from now on. The crowd is young and hip. read more

The food is okay but for the price you can go to Cheesecake Factory for better service. Employees need better training. "Guests" sitting at the bar obviously know the workers there and conversations are inappropriate. Look at the comment from the OWNER! Any negative review he gets sarcastic and defensive. Take the constructive criticism from the people who wasted their time and money her to improve your business... Apple doesn't fall far from the Management tree. read more

Always an amazing meal at the GT! Went for the doggie lunch a few weeks ago, such a great event for a great cause. The service, food and management were top notch. There was a manager who had recently lost her dog :( that was the same breed as my pup, she was so sweet and made sure everything was perfect. I was here last night and had a great time with my family. The manager at the door was very accommodating, and that wait staff was all around friendly. The duckduckduck and the maple glazed pork shank really wowed me, the flavor and the creativity will be with me for a while. There was indoor and outdoor seating and beautiful views. They were also very patient with my playful, picky group of children (ages 5-10). I ordered two personal pizzas for them and they ended up finishing one of them. We took one pizza to go. Overall, we paid $80 for 3 adults and 5 kids. Nobody left hungry and we even had leftovers. It is also a nice place to watch a game. A soccer game was on TV while we were there. Overall - we will be back and highly recommended if in the area! It's not in the pictures, but we also ordered a burger, wings and mozzarella sticks. Everyone enjoyed the food.

There is also a small bar where you can order drinks and bring them back to your seat. Our group had a private tent area reserved, and the event was well organized. Buffet-style food had been arranged before our arrival, and we were able to bring in decorations, a birthday cake, and other party favors without any issues. The outdoor bar stops serving around 9:00 p.m., but we were able to move to a covered area near to the hotel restaurant and bar, which was equipped with heat lamps and provided a comfortable place to continue the evening. Service throughout the event was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend The Smokehouse for group gatherings, birthday parties, or a casual day out. There is plenty of space, the prices are reasonable, and the staff does a great job accommodating larger groups. Also, it's conveniently located not far from the train station.
